  1. OMG that was the funniest i have ever read, but also so very true. PLEASE, PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE post again. Finally, i'm not the only one that felt that way !
  2. Hello Erik, welcome to the site and congrad on getting a date. i'm sure you will find many friends here and plenty of answers to your questions as i have. i wish you much success, i'm sure you are very anxious right now with your date approaching. i'm also from Florida and was just wondering where you are getting your surgery done at ?
  3. hello my fellow Smashing Pumpkins, hope everyone is doing well, congrads to you all. i had my 4th fill Monday and i'm down a few more lbs. a total of 37lbs now. i'm coming up on my 5th month band-a -versary and although i wish it would pick up i still feel blessed and know alot of it is me. i feel pretty good about this last fill, it feels real tight (for now) so we'll see how it goes. i think the most frustrating part for me is that you have to have the right balance between protein intake,exercise, water intake and all in order for the scale to really move. so i seem to get one part down pack but not all at the same time...:sad: Encoraging Word For Today : LACK OF WILL POWER HAS CAUSED MORE FAILURES THAN LACK OF INTELLIGENCE OR ABILITY !! HAPPY EASTER ALL, HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AND DONT GIVE UP !
  4. hello all, bradley18- you and i have the exact same band date. i will be going for my 4th fill in April and although i am down 35lbs, i find myself in the same spot as some of you guys. i started off doing very well with the excercise part and it became apart of my days like everything else. BUT... now it's like the motivation is gone and it's so hard to get it back. i wanted this surgery sooo bad and now that everyone else has done their part i feel like i'm not doing my part with it.:crying: my fills are good i was getting them once a month and was mixing up my routine between the gym and the sidewalk. i think we just need to pick ourself up and start fresh the next day, and i know first hand it's easier said than done. i just wish i can have the motivation i had when i was on the liquid diet(before surgery). we have to just keep our heads up and continue on our journey no matter what. ENCOURAGING WORD FOR TODAY : We Must All Suffer From 1 of 2 Pains.. The Pain of Discipline or The Pain of Regret. The Difference is Discipline Weighs Onces(inches), While Regret Weighs Tons(lbs)
  5. I have a blog also, although i'm not sure if my page is showing up correctly. but you should be able to peek at my journey. i have pics along the right side that i do not see when i view it so.....
  6. It has been 4 months/1 week and i'm loving it:thumbup: ! 33lbs gone forever and i'm rocking 18's (size):party::hurray:.
  7. I go to the dr. on Monday for my 4th fill, the 24th made 4months post-op and im still around 33lbs lost. i only weigh myself at dr.apt's or my nutritionist vists, my weight loss has also slowed down:thumbdown: and has became a bit frustrating:cursing:. i'm on the low side of GOOD. i've lost alot of inches also and have went from size 26,24,22's to a size 18 so i'll take that as a great thing. i'll continue to plug away also but im really considering going back to more of a liquid diet like slim fast and protein shakes after my fill, and purchasing a spanx:sleep: to help guide me along. Keep up the great job everyone !
  8. 1. being healthier, no more diabeties 2. being the youngest sibling but not larger than my older siblings. 3. shopping,shopping,shopping, and more shopping i'm 3months post-op, 3rd fill, 31lbs down, 6" off my waist, and went from a size 26,24,22 to now a size 18:lol:.
  9. let me correct myself on what i said earlier about eating rice. CHECK WITH YOU DR. FIRST !!!! everyone and everybody's Dr. is different . i only brought up rice because that's what TracieDuquette stated she had for dinner and it made her ill. RICE may not be for everyone and maybe it's not for TracieDuquette. :cursing:
  10. RestlessMonkey- i was told no rice/pasta but did learn i could have small amounts,but since i love it and it's probably my biggest problem i like to continue to think of it as something i just can't have:closedeyes: i do better with it that way. TracieDuquette - when you said you can't have a fill until 8weeks out from surgery, that means you are in what they call "BANDSTERS HELL" the time period of no restriction and no fill. you should still measure out your food, visit a nutrionist, and eat slower until you get your 1st fill!
  11. LoveIsLovely - yeah i would think you would have had the gastric also(great job). okay i think i get it now, just keep moving at all times..i was working out but concentrated on weights after my 30min cardios. now i just walk,walk,walk and i'm thinking about doing Zumba. either at the gym or buying my own DVD set to do at home, Has anyone else tried Zumba?
  12. Ruby- thank you , i'm really trying to stay focused and learn how to make this band work. i never thought that i could work out(weights) too much though:unsure:.those Protein Drinks look good i need to see if my local grocery store carries them:drool:! the Protein Drink that i make only has 23gm of Protein and i only like the vanilla flavor. LoveIslovely - you have been kicking butt lady:thumbup: 75lbs lost already, my what do you do ? and we are not that much off as far as dates:blink::thumbs_up: ,maybe 2 weeks or so.you go girl, keep up the good work you continue to be an inspiration to me and others ! Terri in KY- i'm also a Smashing pumpkin and have always came back to this site to see how all the other October Bandsters are doing. i may be wrong but i think we all just come back here and check in, and share our information. most have tickers to show weight lost or signatures..i forgot my pass word to update mine but is still at or around 28-30lbs lost... so i'm not sure but , Welcome my fellow Smashing Pumpkin:thumbup:
