I appreciate you sharing this with us. I hope I don't feel the same way when I hit 6 years, but I think it's so important to share the reality of how unnatural it feels to eat after these surgeries. We will never eat a "normal" sized meal again, and I think everyone going into this surgery needs to know that.
8 weeks post op and all I eat is 1 scrambled egg with vegan cheese, 2% Lactaid CHOCOLATE milk, or some homemade chicken broth made by my mother. When I get really desperate, I'll have a sugar-free popsicle. I am suffering.
I'm 8 weeks post surgery and I've been very back and forth on whether or not I regret it, but what gets me through it is remembering how hopeless and helpless I felt before the procedure. At least by having the surgery, it feels like I really tried. I know I couldn't do this any other way so the way I see it, f**k it, even if it fails at least I tried it all!
I tossed and turned so much the very night of my surgery and wasn't warned for or against anything, and it didn't seem to cause any issues. If anything I think it helped me with the gas pain, or so I told myself.
