Any October Bandsters!??!?!
We've all been there! Last Supper Syndrome as it is called. We all know we shouldn't, most do it. Welcome to October. We call ourselves the Smashing Pumpkins. If you are looking for a thread for October 2009 you can look under forums and find more that are having surgery next month. I remember that last month. I thought it would NEVER get here! Good luck!

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
Well my sweet tooth has caught up with me! I have had my first significant gain in the past week. I did it to myself. I'm afraid that I will have to record a gain for my first week in the challenge. Well yesterday was better and I will take it one day at a time. Maybe I can get it back off by Saturday and break even this week.

Work on figuring out how to put something in your signature. Have you gotten to the "Edit Signature"? It is retroactive, so once you put something there you will see it on your other posts.

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
Sure. Touch on one of our tickers. That will take you to a web site and you can put all the information in. Make sure to put in a pin number so you don't have to copy and paste every time you want to update your weight. When you have your ticker made up (play around a bit. It is fun) then on this page go up to the top. See the shortcut to "Quicklinks"? It is right under the welcome message. Touch on that and then select "Edit Signature" from the drop down menu. Paste the correct code you got for your ticker from the other page and add whatever else you would like in the box provided. You can preview and save. When you save then everytime you post your signature will automatically post on the bottom of your message. When you want to update your weight just touch on your ticker in your signature, put in your current weight and save. Your ticker on your signature will then be updated too. Let me know if you need more help. It takes a while to figure it all out.

Great! I will put you down. You can find the posting on the other thread. If I keep it all in one place I have less of a chance to miss someone. I'll put you down for a 10 lbs goal.

Jessie Ahroni is a nurse practioner and kind of the resident expert on the Smart_Bandsters yahoo group I belong to. She has had hers for 10 years now. She has also written a book about banding. I'm planning to have it until it is taken away. Hopefully not for a long long time. If I had to I would get re-banded. I love my band.

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
Just tell me your goal. You don't have to post your weight, but you are welcome to. I keep it at home on a spread sheet so I don't forget what I weigh week to week. Each Saturday or so post your weight lost for the week. I'm trying for 2 pounds a week. Keep your fingers crossed. When does your pre-op diet start? Are you on a special diet? I started about 2 weeks before my surgery date and cut out all bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. High protein diet. Anytime you start to look for food ask yourself if you are really hungry. You can do it! If you are looking for others scheduled for surgery in October Here is the forum address: October 09 Bandsters - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum

?ctober ?dyssey 2008
I am wondering if any of you would like to start a challenge. We are only one month away from October! OMG I can't even believe that! I was banded at the end of the month, but it is still coming up soon. Anyone interested in a Halloween Challenge? We could weigh in every Saturday Morning and I'll keep track and post it on our other October thread here: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f84/any-october-bandsters-73669/index118.html#post1319376 Please post your weigh in results on the other thread too so I can keep it all straight. I don't want to miss anyone! Who is in? I really need to get on track and get the sweets out of my system. If you are interested Weigh yourself. Let me know that you want your name added to the Challenge List. This will be an eight week challenge and so my goal will be 16 lbs. Just to let the new "Smashing Pumkins" know. There should be a thread for October 2009 if you search for it but you are welcome to join us if you would like. Halloween Challenge: Julie.Ann (16lbs) __________________

Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum
I don't shop at Lane Bryant anymore, but when I did I HATED their "right size" campain. They wanted to measure me everytime I went to try to find jeans, but I never could find any that fit well after they did that.

Any October Bandsters!??!?!
My stand-by breatkfast is a morningstar sausage patty and some Southwest Eggbeaters. Now I only have enough eggbeaters to cover the bottom of a bowl. I microwave the eggbeaters for about 1 minute and the sausage patty takes about 30 secods.

Friday Weigh-in
Trying to get back to weighing in and being accountable. I weigh 174.2. I'm okay with that as long as I lose every week.

Bandiversary Ideas.............
Sarah, That is great! I know what you mean. I started losing quickly after my fill, but there was something special about getting past that smallest number I had been bouncing back and forth from! I have lost every day since last Monday except for yesterday. (I went to the movies the night before and was a bad girl) I am thinking I should have gotten a fill 2 months ago. You too? Keep me up to date!
-
Are you doing anything for bandaversary?
Wow! Yep! The winner for sure! That would be awesome!I remember in April when I flew and I could walk down the aisle of the plane without turning to the side. An AMAZING accomplishment for sure!

r u getting fatter?
First i want to tell you that my parents have always been critical of my weight and my dad needs this surgery himself. It isn't right. I have to ask if your parents paid for the surgery because that is going to make them feel like they have the right to monitor. If they didn't pay for this surgery then they need to realize that they don't get to critize how you spend your money. Is moving out an option? If saying calmly that you are working hard isn't working then remove yourself from the situation. My hubby started to make comments about when I might eat something less than ideal. I told him that I am still at my lowest. As long as I am losing and not gaining he doesn't get to say anything about the food I eat. I go to the gym and am losing. That is enough. He realized that I was right and backed off. I told him if I start gaining and stop going to the gym then he has my permission to say something. How do I avoid? I use something like Pink Limeade - Crystal Light (walmart barnd) to help with my sweet tooth. It tastes great, there are many flavors and it helps me get my water in every day. If you need a fix let yourself have a miniature chocolate square, but try the drinks. Watch out, some have calories. Hang in there. It isn't against the rules to eat out, as long as you follow the bandster guidelines. On the flip slide you can't continue to complain about your mom's cooking. That isn't fair either. They aren't banded. Most of the time I eat different food than my family. They see my healthy eating, but I don't expect them to give up breat, pasta, rice and potatoes just because I have....and I cook the meals.
