About the funny thing, it may be he no longer has the situations or comments as a larger person. Also, I know I am more grumpy right now adjusting and learning about what my body wants and needs at six

Hey, all. Surgery went well yesterday. My surgery sight isn't very painful, but the gas is. I'm still recovering in the ICU. They have me here because of getting an RNY and I'm on cpap. The staff has been great. I didn't sleep well last night. Too many beeps, leg compression device, and discomfort. But better than yesterday.

My wife and I were out tonight and stopped by a “Gringos” restaurant, she got a taco salad, I got a side order of refried beans.
    They were amazing!

Had my VSG about 6 weeks ago. I really want to maintain, maybe build muscle. I have had good muscle mass until about two yrs ago. I am now 55 and post menopausal, so it’s a whole new world!!?. I would love to learn Any supplements, exercise routines or any kind of tip/ trick people have discovered, stumbled upon. I know we are all different, but I love hearing about new things to look into, learn about. There is so much out there now!! Get hormones! Use EEA’s!! The wellness world has exploded and there is a lot of BS out there. Every now and again you find a gem. We are aging so much differently than our parents!! We aren’t taking it lying down! 50 is the new 30!!

Had my VSG May 19, 2023. Feeling pretty good, walking up to 2 miles at a time at 2.5 to 3.0mph. I am looking forward to transitioning to puréed diet. Looking forward to the journey with my May 2023 buddies!

Hi! Had my VSG May 19,2023. I am looking forward to transitioning to puréed diet. I was told I could have tuna and egg salad. Any suggestions on a mayo to use? I tried to eat Campbells Cream of Chicken, I probably ate it too fast, I experienced a mild dumping. Now, I am worried about the fat in normal mayo. Any ideas are much appreciated!

You are absolutely 100% correct in how you are approaching your surgery & weight loss. You can do heaps of research but until you really experience it itself you don’t really know what it will be like. The research does go a long way to ease your mind when you experience some of the quirks & changes along the way, to know when to ask questions, to know what questions to ask & when to ask for advice or help.
I was almost 54 when I had my surgery & hadn’t been part of a forum before either. Am so glad I found this one - a wealth of knowledge, experiences & support. It was my four year anniversary yesterday. I didn’t have any comorbidities but I knew they were likely ahead of me. I’d always bounced between healthy to not quite obese for most of my adult life but menopause pushed me over the line & I could not shift that weight for love or money. I lost more than I expected & have pretty much maintained. Having the surgery has been such a wonderful decision for me.
Keep sharing your story (the highs & the lows). Never be afraid or reluctant to ask questions, for help or advice. You’ve got this.
    All the best.

Hi! I am brand new here! I have been looking around the site a little and reading some of the posts. I have never really used any kind of forum so this is kind of a new way to socialize and get support. I am having a lot of emotions, up and down. I am 55, so a whole new lifestyle is kind of scary even if it is a better one! Just trying to be emotionally prepared and I know
it’s like becoming a parent, you can prepare all you want and then realize, after the baby comes, you had no idea…
