  1. I agree you want to find a doctor in your area and attend the seminar. At the same time check with your insurance and find out if it is covered? If it is not, and you are not willing to self pay, then it would be a waste of time. You can also search questions on this forum and educate yourself. There is a lot to be learned at your stage of the game. People on this forum will help you all they can...
  2. I am scheduled for Feb. 3rd and it can't get here soon enough.....
  3. I hope so because I too have a diet coke addition. I guess if we can give up all the other bad stuff we can give up diet coke too. Good Luck
  4. It took three weeks for me, I am scheduled for Feb. 3rd
  5. I believe they all require it. Mine just wanted to know if I had any eating disorders/if I was thinking of killing myself or anyone else. Questions like that, it was nothing to it you will be fine. They want to know if you have family support or any other support system...
  6. I am being banded in a few weeks and my fear is complications. I'm affraid of leaks and infections. I hope that when I meet with the doctor he will help me with these issues I'm having. I'm not affaid of dying because if I don't do something the weight is going to slowly kill me....
  7. I received a call today from WLSC and they have scheduled my surgery for Feb. 3rd. with Dr. Terracina. I have not met with him yet other than the seminar but everyone seems to like him that I have read. I am so excited and I feel that I'm going into this process with a lot more knowledge after reading the forum for the past 6 months. That is how long it has taken me to make up my mind. Any advise?
  8. That sounds like a reasonable way of doing things Jodi. Thanks for your advise
  9. Hello all, I'm also going through the WLSC in Newport News. I'm scared again after reading Gina's post. I know this is just a tool, but I just have such high hopes that this is going to be the answer for me. Good luck to you Gina with getting back on track. I'm waiting for insurance approval now and was told that I could look at a 3 to 4 week surgery date. I live in Smithfield and will be attending the Support Group meeting this Thursday night. I hope to get some good info then too.....
  10. No one here is looking for a quick fix. I'm just checking what works for different people. No one got this way QUICK and no one is going to fix it QUICK either. I'm SHOCKED by the people that post that really don't have anything to contribute to the subject..... It's responses like yours that makes people like me not want to post...,.
  11. Thanks for the info. I am a lifetimer at ww without ever reaching my goal too. I must have started 20+ times but never stayed with it. I was wondering because I have also done the low carb several times and never liked it. It is encouraging to know that you have followed the ww guidelines and still lost very well. I am waiting on insurance approval now, which I don't think is going to be a problem and they said I could have a surgery date in 3 to 4 weeks. I am starting with a BMI of 44...
  12. Does anyone follow a program such as ww instead the low carb. and how does it work for you
  13. Does Insurance ever pay for any ps?
  14. I just went to my first seminar with Dr. T and I am looking at getting banded in January. I would love your support. This is all new to me and we all fall off the wagon just get started again before it gets out of hand. Keep in touch with your progress...Good Luck
  15. The best thing for you to do is go to a seminar. They all offer them and it is the first step anyway. It is a Q and A session included and very informative.
  16. Thanks for responding back, good luck and let me know how things go.
  17. Do you know if there is a waiting period once you sign up?
  18. I'm looking for someone with Anthem BCBS Virginia to give me some information. I'm just exploring signing up on my husbands plan because my insurance does not covered it. I'm wondering if anyone knows how good they are for approving the procedure. He is in open enrollment now but would hate to sign up and have that expense if I can't get it when my insurance is covered 100 percent with my company. Just doesn't cover lapband. His does......
