Anthem BCBS Virginia

I'm looking for someone with Anthem BCBS Virginia to give me some information. I'm just exploring signing up on my husbands plan because my insurance does not covered it. I'm wondering if anyone knows how good they are for approving the procedure. He is in open enrollment now but would hate to sign up and have that expense if I can't get it when my insurance is covered 100 percent with my company. Just doesn't cover lapband. His does......

I think all Anthem is different. I am in Ohio and my husband works at GM. Our insurance approved me within a week of submitting it. I am having surgery in 5 days. I have a BMI of 37, joint pain and GERD. They will be paying 100% and I only have to pay my copay for fills. But like I said, there are many different plans. Good luck.

Interesting...

I have Anthem BCBS "in" Virginia, but I must have a different plan (I work for the state) because mine covers it. Granted, so far I am only getting the most basic info right not and will be meeting with a surgeon on Tuesday and will hopefully find out more.

I'm guessing our plans are different, even though they are somewhat the same plan. Sounds like each one is specific to whatever the company plan is...?
