What are the signs of stuck foods?
You feel it in your esophagus, and then you inadvertently throw up, but not from your stomach, the food doesn't go down.

Anyone else NOT have Bandster hell?
I am so glad I read this. I feel great too! Been on mushies since Wednesday, surgery was 2/26. I have lost 31 lbs since 1/1/09 (first surgery cancelled on 1/15, stayed on liquids to ensure liver shrinkage) and I am really starting to feel good again. Glad to read everyone is doing so well! when did you return to work
Wow, I felt fine, but honestly I really needed the time off from work, and my doctor told me no driving so...I took it!!

when did you return to work
It must depend on the doctor. My doctor still hasn't cleared me to drive! I had my surgery on 2/26. I am still home but am working from home. I go back tomorrow and should be cleared to go back. I am going back on 3/12.

I have to ask....
Alcohol. When are we able to drink again...obviously I am not talking about getting drunk, but what about a casual drink? I was banded a week ago and I know this is way too soon, but I am a single gal who likes to go out (which probably got me here in the first place, bars and greasy bar food!) and I was curious to find out how long people waited to try a drink again. Surgery Wed, 3/4 and I'm so afraid
I was fine until I got into anesthesiology, then I started crying uncontrollably. I wasn't worried about the surgery, I was realizing that after this, I have NO EXCUSES anymore, that I won't be the lovable fat girl, I won't hide behind joking about my weight, etc, and that it what made me sad. The surgery is nothing, yes, it is painful, but after all the pre-op testing, counceling, etc, we are all ready...so don't worry!! I am one week out and I feel great! Melanie Date of Surgery 2/29/09

I am so tired of liquids
I am sick of liquids, too. I have a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for lunch, which I chew up...but I just overdid my dinner cream soup, now I feel yucky and have a dull headache... Melanie banded 2/26/09

Regular water vs. crystal light
Anyone have any info on this? The Cyrstal Light tastes better and makes the water go down better, and the clear water is just, so well, clear water.... Is it bad to drink the Crystal Light?

Banded on 2/26/09
Hi guys! I was also banded on 2/26...and I did also "regret" my decision. But now, three days out, I feel much better, still have pain and gas, but well worth it. I was 237 pre-op, and when I started my first round of liquid diet on Jan 1, I was a whopping 256 (I am 5'1") so I am please, I weighed myself this morning and I was 233. So so far, so good, I have been doing clear liquids but toss in a yogurt and pudding every once in a while with no problems. Any other issues? I am still sore and burb alot, but I am moving around fine!

4 days banded
I was banded on 2/26. Thank you to everyone for posting your experiences. The gas and burping, I was told, is a side effect from the surgery. I found a comfortable position to sleep in and have not been doing too bad. I eat sugar free popsicles, yogurt, pudding, and broth, plus decaf green tea, Water and decaf coffee. It feels like someone kicked me in the stomach. But I did get my period this morning, which sucks, but I will deal with it. I am, as I am sure you guys are, looking forward to getting back to normal. Melanie PS, weight gain is just the gas they put in you for the surgery...

Help!!!! I am in sooo much pain
I was banded on 2/26, I still burp the gas and am drinking Water, decaf tea, decaf coffee, and just had a cup of yogurt. Once I found a comfortable position to sleep in, I was fine, but the discomfort is still there. I really hope this gets better soon! And I did weigh myself this morning, I was 256 when I started in January (first sugery was cancelled) and I am now 236...surgery day I was 237.5. So, I am hopeful this gets better! This is just such a great resource for us banders! Thanks! Melanie 256 start 237.5 pre-op 236 2 day post op 145 goal
