  1. I have a chair pad, the same kind mentioned above + an egg crate chair pad. but even with using them singularly or together, it doesnt help. I can't sit longer than an hour
  2. The everlasting comfort looks identical to the one I ordered. They denied it saying that it wasnt a medical need, it was a pleasure comfort item
  3. I am aware that it is normal and its the loss of fat but dang. i have tried an egg crate cushion, a donut butt coyx or however its spelled cushion. Ive tried them on top of each both ways. The only smallest relief I get is if I set at an angle, on my hip, with my ankle under me to keep me tilted. But this puts my foot/leg to sleep. I have similar pain in my husbands truck, or sitting in my car longer than 3 hrs. I can't change my office chair bc work requires all of our chairs to look identical. HELPPPP.
  4. ive got to figure out this transitional lightheadness stuff so i can get walking
  5. Hey friends, is there a trick to mix isopure, specifically the fruity infusion ones and it not be foamy?
  6. my husband just laughs when I want to go out to eat. and now as I sit at my desk, eating my third meal of the day... which is finally finishing off the steak fajitas I ordered Sunday lol. I have had one or two meals from each day lol.
  7. i am intrigued by the solar on the garmin, as it would be handy to have one less thing to charge when we camp
  8. So if you have the amazon halo you have probably gotten the dreaded email that they are discontinuing it by August 1st, what are you switching to? I really prefer to stay screenless, as with my line of work I don't need the distraction during meetings or the buzzing of my arm. For context I got 128 text messages between 6 pm and 9 pm last night So that also will be a huge battery drain. I love the sleep tracking and the steps with the satisfaction of earning points for movement and taking points away for sedentary behavior. I use android phone if that matters. And I really would rather not go to the fitbit as thats what I had prior to my halo and i got a third degree burn on my arm when I wore it to a 3 day rock festival in the middle of one of our lovely Carolina summers I have looked at garmin but haven't found anything that screams take me home (except the pixel watch, but with my phone usage that battery doesn't stand a chance...)
  9. And youre down to 165??? I am very torn between being super excited for you and very bummed for myself. I also had surgery october 3rd of 2022. When I met my surgeon in May last year I was 282, surgery day was 256, and im still mid 180s.
  10. Ill def keep the carb loading in mind!
  11. have you found any way to help the transitional lightheadness?
  12. THIS! if you don't like the doctor, find another. call your insurance and see what your options are. Some will let you go out of state (helpful if like me you border a city that is close to a state line) and some only require you go to a center of excellence and they should be able to email you a list! Just call and ask for a list of approved surgeons within 250 miles of you
  13. yeah all preops are liver shrinking, but the actual plan that doctors have you follow vary by surgeron. That sounds very freeing though! My optifast plan required I had 3 optifast shakes, one bar, and one shake per day and one small meal with protien a veg
  14. Has anyone used dr level up in miami to have excess skin removed? would love reviews? his prices and instagram almost look too good to be true
  15. Well my coordinator was the WORSTTTTTTT. She literally kept losing stuff, I had to email and call her every day to stay on her for her to do her part of it.
  16. I would ask your doctor what weight that they will use. My doctor documented the weights that she had access too, like she documented evefrything she could pull out of mychart, and then in her paragraph wrote I encountered heather on may 2nd 2022 and her weight was 282. at last presentment on august xx, Heather weight 272.
  17. What kind of diet do they have you on? I had to do optifast which wasnt fun. But, def up your fluid. It will help you be hydrated during surgery, it will help with feeling hungry right now, and it will help the headaches which are withdrawls
  18. its very unfortunate that fat-phobia is very prevalent in the medical field. I have had friends that have had OBGYN appts coded as weight consults and their insurance denied the visits, even though the visit was birth control and the doctor commented on weight...
  19. So you got options. But let me start with this advice, that will help you stay sane. Do not judge others journeys against your own. You will go crazy. I finally had surgery after three attempts, I will lay out each timeline. First surgeon, Meeting in november, decided to start program in january bc I would meet my deductible and my insurance requirements, I could be done in about 8 weeks, because all I needed was one dietician appt and a physch eval. My insurance added it as a blacklisted item when the year changed over so I didn't get it. This doctor also was heavy on sleeve, and said that bypass wasn't important and he felt was overdone. Second. Was going to go to mexico. I filled out the only paper, and had a call with a coordinator in 48 hrs with approval. LIterally could have scheduled 2 weeks out, If I had the money in hand. I would have had a 14 day clear diet with them or else they could have gotten me in sooner, lol. Custody battle took my surgery money, so, cancelled. Third time the charm My surgeon was heavy bypass. And I am glad bc in my EGD they were able to see I had silent reflux and lots of ulcers. So I needed bypass regardless. I had my first appt May 2nd, and was given a list of requirements that my surgeon had, and another sheet with my insurance requirements. My Ins reqd a phych eval, a dietician clearance, and a recommendation letter. My surgeons office requires phych eval, 4 dietician classes to be completed 1x a week while on preop diet, 1 dietician meeting a month prior to start preop, EGD, and if needed based on medical records cardio and EKG. I left the appt on May 2nd with my EGD appoint, that was 6 ish weeks out, mid June. I didn't understand that I was supposed to make the phych appt, so that was kinda stalled, but they sent everything to insurance for approval in mid august. I started the 1 month preop labor day weekend and had surgery Oct 3rd. But insurance companies can require things that will make it longer, esp if they require a supervising diet.
  20. hace you been checked for reflux/silent reflux?
  21. I agree so much with this. I really think my dietician isn't thinking this through and I feel like 1300-1500 is probably where my basal rate is and that isnt not going to let me get any where weight loss wise
  22. my salt intake has always been limited because my mother was restricted sodium per her doctors for various medical conditions, so we still use salt free condiments and seasonings. I probably could add more salt in for sure
