  1. I never watched the Walton either. I don't mind gin though...
  2. I had an email that said something about cows too. Must be gremlins...
  3. I did teach DS how to write in cursive. I felt that he needed to know it. Take care of yourself. Don't wait too long to try to be seen by a doctor. I hope that you got some sleep Tap. You aren't typhoid Mary just yet.
  4. For the most part, my mouth only hurts when I chew now. I had them adjusted then bent a chain. They had to replace it. That just put my already tender mouth into full agony. I have been trying to eat anyway to toughen it up, but I know I am not chewing as much as I should. I am terrified that I would be too tight for that. Of course, now I can eat pretty much anything. I am stalled. I have gone back to gaining and losing the same 5-7 pounds. I had gained 7 from my lowest, but have since lost 3 of those. I refuse to change my ticker though.
  5. That was my first thought too.
  6. It does help. Thanks! I have seen the instant powder in the store. I will have to try it. I love drinking coffee in the morning, and I figured it would be good for me to have some protein too. Maybe I could make it to lunch time without starving.
  7. I wonder why they don't do it here then. They just expect them to pick it up? WTH? I have to wonder if it was just his elementary because the teachers write in cursive at his current school, and I can only assume they expect them to be able to read it.
  8. Yes welcome margie! KC-I think I have read on here about your drinking an espresso protein drink. Are you just making that, or are you buying a coffee flavored protein powder? I ask because I have been reading about one, but have been hesitant to buy it.
  9. Ok, so I had to go back and get some of the posts that I didn't get a chance to reply to earlier... You understand then! Your dog weighs about as much as DS! re the mirrors-I agree with Glou. If I looked like you, there would be mirrors lining every surface in my house! Exactly! I need to buy more wipes and put them around. DS and DH already bathe in the antibacterial gel. They both complain about perfume being too strong, but they will both walk around smelling of old ladies with that on their hands. ha! You can do it! What was the noise?
  10. suzyt-that is awesome about fostering! heartfire-I hope you feel better. Hopefully you will get over whatever it is before it hits you. ***spraying everything down just in case your cooties are strong like Tap's*** Speaking of Tap, how are your eyes doing?
  11. Congrats Becacloud9! Today- B-coffee w/torani sf syrup, chobani ff peach greek yogurt L-1 oz pepperjack cheese, 3 milano cookies (I didn't to really eat a lunch because DS forgot a book at home that he needed for school) D-jambalaya cooked with beans instead of rice
  12. Congrats!:smile2: I am right there with you both. I need a fill in the worse way. My eating has really picked up, but I am scared to get a fill. My mouth isn't back to normal so I am scared that I will start having PB issues. I don't want to risk it. I guess I will see if I gain weight while waiting.
  13. That is so sweet for him to bring you coffee.
  14. Morning everyone! (where are you Tap?) I thought I would do a "quick" check in before work. I slept a little late this morning. It stormed here last night and knocked the power out for a while. Thankfully, I use a battery powered clock. I would still be asleep right now. DS is just as scared of loud storms as I am. He had to get into bed with me (DH went to the couch). DS sleeps wildly! He was all over my little queen sized bed. Needless to say, I am nursing my coffee in hopes that it will wake me up soon. heartfire-I am glad that you are enjoying your trip. You are going to need a vacation from your vacation. I don't know why I thought you were home by now. Continue to enjoy yourself. Sorry about the painful PB session. Hopefully you will get over the stoma irritation soon. krtork-I did not know that insurance companies could come back later and decide to not pay something. Seems to me that they should be required to honor whatever their first decision was once they had paid. Good luck with that. That's great about the weightloss though! I am also glad that you are feeling better. suzyt-so sorry to hear that you missed this job. Sending good thoughts that they one for you comes soon. SNT-there have been two cases of swine flu at the school that DS goes to. They have left several voicemails and emails about how they are handling things. They will no longer confirm that anyone has or had it. They will just send any kid home with symptoms. I open doors with paper towels in the bathroom, but I hadn't thought about the other doors. I need to go ahead and by a thing of wipes for my desk. I already have hand sanitizer that DS likes to play in when he comes with me to work in the mornings (he catches the school bus from my job). Thanks again everyone for the well wishes. I had better get a move on. BBL!
  15. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. It just seems like we all have something going on right now. I am glad that I have you all for support through it all. Tap-the ex thing is strange to say the least. TPG-I love how you wrap things up. You are too funny! Hopefully the wheels will move fast for your surgery issues. I hope you feel better soon with the inner ear problems. I know that has to be a bad feeling. I took some medication once that gave the sensation of turning cart wheels whenever I closed my eyes for a second or two. I can't imagine that feeling while walking. Luluc-my first thought when I read about your eyes was that you should have sprayed everything down with Lysol like SNT once you read about Tap's eyes. LOL Tap must have some mighty infectious cooties. :tt1: Beth, Ebony-I have to say that I admire both of you for taking steps to make sure that if the need arises, you can/will be able to take care of yourselves. I am sending good thoughts and prayers to both of you for the jobs & husband situations. Kat-enjoy your dinner! Heartfire-how you after your trip? Suzyt-how are you doing? krtork-are you ok? I know you said you weren't feeling well last night. To all of the night workers(plain, SMS, & KC)-I hope you have an uneventful night. To everyone else, I hope you are having a wonderful night.
  16. Thanks Beth. I guess we can all use some long-term prayer here lately. I hope that we all come out of the other end of this so much better off than before.
  17. That is an awesome NSV!!!
  18. Yay on the pants! That is great! I am wishing you the best on the job front!
  19. today- B-1/2 cup coffee w/torani syrup, chobani strawberry greek yogurt L-chicken fries D-angus hamburger patty w/slice pepper jack s-anna's almond cinnamon thins
  20. Hi everyone! Hi Tap! I hope that your eyes are starting to feel better. I have been on here a few times to try to catch up, but have not been able to. I have been reeling all day. They announced a layoff at my company. Thankfully, I don't think I will be directly affected, but is hitting extremely close. They do our layoffs by seniority. Retirement eligible people can volunteer to take a retirement package that includes something like 1 or 2 years pay plus whatever their pension would be. Supposedly, before they announced the layoff number, they polled to see how many people would be willing to take the retirement package and then based their number on that. Well, it seems that some of the people that told them they would take the package are no longer willing. That means that the lowest in seniority will be let go. If there are job openings in other cities, they could apply, but it is not a given that they would get it. All of the people that would be forced out work with me directly. I am 5th from the bottom in my city and they are letting 3 go. That is cutting it very close. It is even more scary when I think about the fact that they can announce a layoff every quarter. If the bottom 3 are let go, then it is very possible that next quarter could be me. That is a hard pill to swallow when all of my experience is wrapped up in this industry. Although they aren't the only pony show in this town, they are pretty darn close. My husband couldn't carry the load of the household on his shoulders (his paycheck can't even cover our utilities per month). I know that there are others going through this right now. I am not even trying to diminish what anyone else is going through. I know that any job loss in today's economy is hard. It just scares the crap out of me to think that I am the main bread winner in this house, and I could lose my job. On a MUCH brighter note: DS brought home an all A progress report.:tt1::thumbup::thumbup:
  21. B-coffee w/sf torani syrup, chobani blueberry yogurt L-sauteed mushrooms, 1 c diced cucumber, 1 c diced apple (no skin) D-1 eggroll, 2 bites teriyaki chicken (didn't like the marinade), 1 tbs fried rice S1-last klondike bar (should have had something else after unsatisfying dinner) S2-cubed pepper cheese
  22. That is too hilarious plain.
  23. I was hungry all day. I attempted to make good choices, but I caved at the end of the day. B-coffee w/torani syrup, chobani strawberry yogurt L-sauteed mushrooms, 1 cup diced cucumber, .5 cup diced apple (no skin) D-about 6 small fried shrimp w/cocktail sauce, 5 potato chips & dip S-klondike oreo bar
  24. Evening all. I am going to attempt to go to bed early tonight. We are "enteraining" the district president and VP at my job tomorrow. I know that I will be spending the morning attempting to get things in tip top shape (on top of attempting to do my regular job). I know I won't be able to risk coming on here to check in tomorrow until I know for sure that they are gone. I will be thinking good thoughts for all that are sick, going through trials (work and home), and hoping that everyone has a great Tuesday. You all have a great night!
  25. I am so sorry that you are now dealing with two crusty eyes! Oh no! I hope you get some relief soon. I have been wondering about the date for the get together myself. The time to pick vacation for next year is fastly approaching. PJTP-I am at work. I have mentioned before that my coworker really gets abused(mentally) at home by his wife. I think it is getting worse. She is pushing him to the edge. It really worries me because he sometimes seems like one of those people that might "snap". I don't know what to do. He is a grown man, but everyday he goes out of his way for his wife and she just seems to push his buttons almost in punishment for some grievance. I don't know the full story, I'm sure. It just bothers me to be in this huge building with this guy. What if he snaps here???
