Anti-Semitism In France!
Hi guys, I just wanted to respectfully request that we just stop posting. Ron will always think he better in his head, and all we are doing is beating our head against a wall. Its late and I am going to try to get up early to go to the Salad bar Catholic Church and pick up a crouton, and a nice red wine vinegrette to go with it. After all, the only reason why I would want to go to church is to learn about God, and then die and go to hell.

I have "scholarly proof" I can bring to the table. but why bother? My scholars are not as "good" as yours.

Anti-Semitism In France!
Basically I think the whole bible needs to be taken in the context of the times and the state of the world when it was written. The world was small. People thought you could fall off the edge of the earth When the americas were discovered, it was well after the time of Christ. The story of Noah I do believe it was true. In context. The writters of the story of Noah didnt know how much of the world there was. I think it was "their" whole world, not what we know to be the whole world now. I dont think it was every land mammal, just those in the middle east, where Noah lived. We keep hearing, "context, context", the problem is that everyone has a different "context" that can be applied. Sigh, here i am beating the :deadhorse: again.

Anti-Semitism In France!
Its not worth it. I dont feel like looking it up again. Plus, I have been insulted by Ron, on a subject that I didnt say squat about. And HE STILL DID NOT ANSWER MY QUESTION. I guess the echo of nothingness means he has no answer. Oh and here is the article that HE wrote from his website. http://www.shiloh-ministries.org/html/lions_9.html "Their hidden agenda" I guess I took it out of context. *SNORT*

Um, yes you did. It from an article from your web site, you wrote. I think you would rather oppress women And you still never answered me.

Anti-Semitism In France!
Ron, care to clear up this statement? Unfortunately, the “movement” has convinced women that they can forsake their God given role as man’s “helpmate”, and replace him as breadwinner, often delegating men to being “house husbands”, raising the kids and being the homemaker. It is now considered “politically correct” for women to fill the shoes of men in every aspect of society, and we no longer recognize the God given differences between the sexes. "helpmate" my foot. This is a thinly veiled statement for servant. God forbid you have to change a diaper, do the dishes or pay attention to the kids. Ya darn skippy I can do anything a man can do.

Anti-Semitism In France!

Anti-Semitism In France!
I find it rather odd that Ron choose to answer my post only to the part about Catholism. I was really hoping he would have touched on the Noah part. As seeing as the Noah story was literal a few posts ago and I gave a "context" answer to it.

Oh and Ron, as a scientist, you do need to do waaay more research on global warming than to take a non-scientists take that its bunk, other than she spouts the same rhetoric that you believe to be true for Bush.

Again, Ron, you and your scholars take what you want to take literally, I and mine will take what we want to take literally. And to say that Catholics are sacrificing him thats ludicrous. How do you know He didnt want us to do it everyweek? Maybe He didnt intend it to happen everyweek, maybe He is happy we do it everyweek now. When someone says, "take the bible literally" and when Jesus said, "take this and eat of it, it is my body" and we take it literally, you say context. Again. Its ALL literal or it is not. You have your beliefs, and I am glad you do. Do not force your "context" on my "literal", and I will not do the same to you.

Have they found the Boxes Jesus was buried in?
Ahhh, smatyas, you just can leave us hanging with a post like that. :heh: I for one, will watch the show, see what it says then comment. I remember all the hype there was about finding Jimmy Hoffa's body in some "rediscovered patch of dirt under some club" that Heraldo "found" Lord, what a bunch of crap that was. So, we will see what the show actually says and doesnt say. I think its all for the ratings and $$$$. I am going to TIVO it so I dont have to watch the commericals. Wasnt one of the boxes that was "found" in there already proven to be a fake anyway????

I can only hope that you saw more voices for love and harmony than for hate and intolerance. If you saw more for the latter, than I didnt do my job well. The problem with most threads in the rants and raves section is that they start on topic "A" end endup on topic "354" While for the most part, we all do NOT want to preach hatred against any group. Oh, and also, that "letter" was proven to be a fraud by snopes.com and we kind of left it at that. I can say that the voices of the intolerate seem to be louder, the voices of the people who all, "just want to get along" are more, I hope. We just need to get louder.

Just because your opinion is backed up by other opinions does not make an opinion right, it just makes it a "popular" opinion. We all know what opinions are like........ I am not going to say how I came back in to the folds of the flock of the Lord, however I will say that my proof of His existance is NOT in the bible. I do not need to say the bible is 110% literal. I know God exists, I have personal proof of what he did for me. I have faith that the essence of the bible is correct. That Noah did have an ark, that he saved alot of animals. To what extent, I do not know. Do I think that it was every land based mammal, no. I think the "world" at that time was centered around the Middle East and he saved those animals in that part of the world. I use the quotes around "world" because at even the time of the middle ages before Columbus discovered the americas or Marco Polo went to China on a boat, people didnt think out side of Europe as even exisiting. The "world" was very small in people's minds back then. The discovery of the America's didnt make God or the people who wrote Genesis wrong, it changed the CONTEXT of their meaning of "world" Which is why, I can not take the entire bible literally. Jesus, died, was buried and rose again. Literal. When Catholics take part of communion, we share in the (not looking up the right word) transfiguration of the Lord's commandment at the last supper to "take this and eat of my body" and the wafers are transfigured in to the body and the wine in to the blood of Christ. We are taking that commandment Literally, but to some people, thats pishpaw, that must be figurative. You take your verses that you and your scholars want to take literally, We will take our verses that our scholars want to take literally. One only sees what one wants to see. One who holds on to "proof" more tightly in his hand than faith will often see "proof" slip thru his fingers. I for one, will hold on to my faith, to my experiences, to my God in my way. I do not have the answers to bring more people to God. Would I love to say I brought an Atheist to the Lord? Yes, but I think its more of a "notch on my belt" arrogance at this point than a true desire to bring someone to God. All I can say is He is out there, He is watching, He loves us. God takes only the good in people, Satan takes the bad. Go read CS Lewis, he explains it better than I can. (the whole series, not just the first one)
