  1. Oh my goodness! I miss reading this forum so much! I've been trying to really focus on myself to heal. A week after surgery around September 6th, I had this horrrrrrrible pain out of no where at 10AM. It was the front and back of my right side. My boyfriend rushed me to the ER, and it was packed!!! I was screaming in pain and throwing up absolutely nothing. All the rooms were occupied and I was #3 to be triaged. I begged my fiance to lay down on the floor in the waiting room of the ER. As soon as I laid down they brought me to a different room to treat me, Well guys I had a kidney stone! It was THE WORSE PAIN in my entire life. I had my eyes close from the pain the whole time. TMI - Please be aware!!! Ever since surgery I was only constipated one day. Ever since then I've been having very very oily orange stool. Straight up like grease. When I had my sleeve in 2018 I was constipated every month. I can't even pass gas normally because it will leak out. My nurse and dietitian said I am not storing my fat nutrients. I'm excreting it way too fast which is not normal, I have to go in and possibly be prescribed a fat enzyme. Every time I eat I have to go super bad within 30 minutes. If i don't get it resolved i can develop IBS. I am soooo scared at this point, Also is anyone prescribed Ursodiol to prevent gallstone problems?
  2. Hey September buddies! You guys will do great! I got a Sleeve to Bypass conversion on August 29th. I was super stressed out about the 2 week liquid diet but it went by super fast after the 4th day. The 4th day was the worse hunger pain.
  3. OMG! that sounds horrible!!! Hopefully you're feeling better. I told the OR nurses to give me the patch behind my ear for nausea. My stomach is also swollen!! and I finally took my band-aids off my incisions today. I have two big bruises from Heparin shot and a weird bruise on the left of my thigh.
  4. I haven't had the time to check anything since surgery day. Everything happened so fast! I was to report for check in at 9:30 and was wheeled to the OR at 11:30. I was in recovery for 2 hours waiting for a room. The gas pains were soooooo bad! It finally went away this afternoon after passing gas...lol My liquid diet phase 1 is 64 ounces of regular Gatorade or 50/50 diluted juice and then after is broth, jello, popsicles. That will be my diet for 7 days.
  5. I haven't had surgery yet but my post-op diet reads no protein drinks until the 8th day.
  6. Hey buddies! Because it is Midnight, today is my 4th day pre-op of the shrinking liver diet. Let me tell you, I was very very hungry today while running errands and came home and sipped on homemade chicken broth my mom brewed for me. I added a drop of Sriracha and a dash of black pepper and it was soooooo good. Taste like ramen!
  7. Day 2 of the shrinking liver diet and I'm already dreaming of food...especially sushi. LOL We got this!!
  8. Praying for a speedy recovery!! See you on the other side!
  9. The gastric sleeve, I remember the phases for that was short and the post-op education fell short. So happy I switched surgeons/hospital.
  10. It is different because of the types of surgery and because I am getting mine done at Mayo most of it comes from research. I know I almost cried reading that "soft food stage/phase 3" is 6 weeks! I am getting a revision done..maybe longer recovery?
  11. Right!! LOLLL pureed meats, reminds me of canned dog/cat food. Applesauce for me!
  12. I have a wedding two weeks after my surgery! Hopefully I can bring my own blended soup of some sort. LOL
  13. August buddies!!! So I had a ZOOM - group education appointment about our post-op diet and I am crying inside that I won't be able to eat regular food until November!
  14. I am so scared of the headaches! I use to get bad headaches from not drinking caffeine. I always use to hear drinking more water gives you energy, lets hope it does it for us since we cannot have any sorts of solids.
  15. Oh man! I am preparing everything right now for my liquid diet start date on the 15th. I left my house messy so I can hulk clean during my two weeks LOL. We have a huge wedding coming up, my aunts wedding in September, and everyone is super interested in my liquid diet regimen. I tell them they won't be able to do it because they have never tasted a protein meal replacement in their life. Reading everyone's post who is currently on the liquid diet right now is giving me relief that it is not THAT bad! Mind over matter.
  16. I also didn't have surgery with Carrum but my insurance required 6 months and after completing all the required steps by insurance and doctors they also scheduled me a month out.
  17. Lyons Magnus Voluntarily Recalls 53 Nutritional and Beverage Products Due To The Potential For Microbial Contamination | FDA
  18. Absolutely mortified!!! I bought a case of 18 Premier Protein shakes from Costco and there's a recall on them!! The LOT # matches!
  19. LOLLL!!! why did this remind me when Dr. Now use to put his patients in the hospital to prove to them they can lose the pounds by sticking to the diet and not lying. You got this!!!
  20. That will be me for my two week pre-op surgery liquid diet. Absolutely NO solids drinking 4 shakes a day! I just bought an 18 case box of premier protein and found out there's a recall on them!
  21. I went with a totally different hospital/program after having a bad nutritionist. Like @Daja I had to get an upper endoscopy and a barium swallow test done which was required. My first consult the doctor told me a revision would be best if I had severe GERD but they weren't going to approve me for surgery without doing tests...LOL During my tests they found the reason for my GERD and deemed it medically necessary. The surgeon did tell me if they found a HERNIA he would've performed SAD-IS procedure or a DS.
  22. You got this!! I am pre-op with surgery on the 29th and cannot reach my water goal anymore. I even tired buying a new water bottle to motivate myself!
  23. My fiancé and I live in a small town and there are no deliveries here except Dominos Pizza. The only fast food chain restaurant in town is Subway LOL. The other ones are 15 minutes away. At first we lived off gas station food whenever we needed a quick fix.
  24. My 6 month pre-op diet was high protein, low fat, and low sugar. Protein shakes in between and absolutely no juice/soda. I do drink sugar free juices by Minute Maid.
