Plateaus...
There are many theories about plateaus, and bottom line, you have to live with them. My trainer says it isn't really a plateau if it is less than 3 weeks at standstill, it is just the body adjusting. I wanted to believe it. She always cranks up my cardio a bit and looks at my food log to make sure I haven't increased my salty food intake which causes water shifts. Some weeks I would gain one and then lose 2 in a couple of days with no obvious reason!!! Also, taking weekly measurements is very important for morale. The weeks the scales didn't move the tape measure did and was very reassuring. Congratulations on your loss so far and best wishes. Mimi

Fanny Moves to Phase Two
Fanny, I just went back and read your whole thread and am so happy for you. You are going to be so happy when you are done. I am 4 wks behind you for boobs and arms, then in March my TT and maybe breast augmentation. I will see how the girls look for an older woman. They have been having play dates with yours in th Antartic!!!!! If they were any further south they would be tickling my belly button. Wt loss really deflated them!!! Anyway, I am excited for you and glad you updated your thread. Mimi

Is this my sweet spot?
Peaches, our stories sound close to the same. I didn't enjoy T'giving....every 4 or 5 bites I had to go use the restroom to urp. I lost 6 pounds in 11 days and finally went in yesterday for a little unfill. As soon as the PA saw how much wt I lost she pronounced I was too tight. We negotiated how much she would remove and I am much happier today. I was honest and asked the same thing you did.....am I at my sweet spot or a little too tight? She did tell me that being a little tight first thing in the morning was normal and as long as I was OK later in the day not to worry. Go to your appt and have an honest dialog with your care giver, then repost here and tell us what transpired, OK? Best wishes, Mimi

Wow, I Never Thought I Would Get To Post Here!
Congratulations and welcome to bandland. I hope you have an easy recovery, but don't hurry to exercise unless you doc OK's it. Except for walking, of course. Best wishes, Mimi

Weight to Lose
Try not to weigh yourself more than 1-2 times a week and as another poster suggested take your measurements once a week. I strongly believe in keeping a food and exercise log, I refer to it frequently especially when the scales are being strange . Best wishes, Mimi

Skinnyjeans turn for a flat tummy
Thanks for the feedback, SJ, and goodluck with getting your refill scheduled soon. I was too tight to enjoy the holiday food, so I am glad you were unfilled at the right time to enjoy it, LOL. Mimi

Stuck or full?
I, too, wonder every time I get full if I am really stuck. But being stuck to me, escalates into extreme discomfort while full eases off and gets comfortable. Mimi

Great Food Finds
WOW, that much protein is awesome. I just wish they weren't so heavy on the onions! Wendy's chili is great until I start burping it for hours!!!!! That is why I love to make that other recipe at home, I can skip the onions and enjoy myself. Mimi

Seriously Concerned somethings wrong
I don't have any words of wisdom, I just wanted to wish you luck in getting to the bottom of this and getting back to maybe enjoying your band life again. Mimi

Mental Block...Why do I do this?
Bashful, when I got down to 140 a few weeks ago I was both happy and something else. I found myself on a 3 day chocolate (Dove) binge where I ate FOUR BAGS of the candy all by myself. I told anybody (friends I mean) who would listen and the concensus that was reached was that I was torn about my success. I was happy and scared and not sure I deserved it. I finally realized I did deserve to lose wt, even after all these years of being very heavy. My binge ended on its own and I still have a few pieces left that are not yet screaming my name. Talking about it out loud to non judgemental supportive ppl was invaluable. I got back on my food plan and continued to exercise. I hope you find your sticking point and work this out, because the band doesn't help with slider and comfort food eating. Best wishes, Mimi

Skinnyjeans turn for a flat tummy
Skinny, I hope you do well at work, I am sorry you are going back to a heavy workload. Thanks for the movie review, I had been wanting to see Old Dogs, I hope it stays around a while. I am very worried about the pre-op unfill, every time I have had an unfill I gain 12 pounds in 2 weeks!!!! I am sure that didn't happen to you. Mimi

Too tight and miserable...
Thanks, Teacher, and I hope you continue to improve. If I can get a 0.1ml/cc unfill I am going to if I am not better soon. Mimi

To fill or not to fill - that is the question
I agree with Elcee and Humming Bird. Practice the smaller bites and quantities, it will serve you well in the future. And get a fill. You didn't mention exercise, are you exercising like walking? Mimi

Scared please help
First thing is to calm down, if possible. You haven't given a lot of info. How long have you been in distress? Are you still urinating? Have you tried something like Pepcid Complete which is chewable and will settle right through. By all means go to the ER if you feel that is best. Good luck, Mimi

Long time bandsters

Teacher, see what you are missing by getting better, LOL? Mimi

Long time bandsters
Please take your keyboard off of caps, it is rude in computer etiquette...the equivalent of shouting. I have been banded 14 months. No slip or erosion but overfilled/swollen a couple of times resulting in some barfing episodes. Mimi

Too tight and miserable...
Hi, Elcee, thanks for asking. It was both urp and PB. It happened again tonight. I just can't eat other than home, yet. I don't seem to know how to pick my dinner and amounts. Tomorrow is soup and tummy rest!!!! Mimi

Too tight and miserable...
Teacher, I haven't any cycle experience except what I have read here, and I have read it many times, so give yourself a little time as long as you can keep a variety of fluids down. The swelling might go down and your comfort will go up. If not, talk to your care provider about a tiny (.2ml) unfill. At the stage we are at even that small amount can make a difference between good nutrition and sinking into the slider food trap. Mimi

Great Food Finds
PS: The above link and recipe is courtesy of Btrieger!!!!! I was a fan of Hormel Chili before this link got posted. I have made the recipe with ground beef, chunk chicken and ground turkey. It comes out great no matter what changes are made. Thanks again, Btrieger, and my hair thanks you too!!!! Mimi
