  1. Me! I had VSG on 06.21.22
  2. I eat faster than I should but my stomach will let me know it's too fast, I am still measuring my food though. 4 months out.
  3. I had this problem for awhile after surgery. It got better eventually with the office chair. We went to a music festival this weekend and I sat on the hard ground for hours. I couldn’t sit for two days! Not even in my recliner lol
  4. @GreatDanish916 Glad you are doing well! I’m only 3 months out but I get stomach hungry, not head hungry.
  5. Girl, I feel your pain. I just made an appointment with a counselor because I'm about to lose my mind. My husband is an alcoholic. Every night is him bitching about everything wrong in the world. I try really hard to keep a positive attitude. I know things in the world are shitty but I don't focus on what I can't control. My work life is stressful as we are getting ready to go through a merger and realistically don't know if we will have jobs or if we do, what they will be. I just hit my 20 years with this company so I am feeling a little sad. Then I have to go home and listen to him until he goes to bed. I'm frustrated to say the least. Rant over.
  6. I just got back from a work function where we were fed several meals buffet style. Someone made a comment each time "you aren't eating very much". I just said, "not that hungry" LOL
  7. Happy Birthday!!! Thanks for this update. I was in Vegas over the weekend and too scared to drink as I have read horror stories. I think the first time I will do it at home in case I get sick or stupid (or both LOL)
  8. I guess I am one of the weird ones. I love all the cooking game shows liked Chopped and anything with Guy Fieri (Pre and Post Op). It doesn't trigger me, I get some kind of perverse pleasure in watching other people enjoy the food LOL
  9. This is what I am striving for! I was so miserable, no energy, didn't want to do anything. I am still a little unenergetic 6 weeks out, but I'm improving each day.
  10. Food is a work in progress for us as well. I also feel like we waste a lot of food. The biggest problem we have is he does most of the shopping and will bring home stuff that I shouldn't eat. I told him he will need to start putting it somewhere I don't have to look at it. Other than that, he has been very supportive of everything.
  11. I understand the part about being the sober one with your drunk spouse! I didn't realize how annoying drunk people are until I wasn't one of them LOL. I'm not ready to start drinking again yet so I just have to deal, but yeah, totally annoying.
  12. Welcome Steve!! I am also a Northern Cali resident. Don't be too scared of the pre-op diet. First few days are rough, not gonna lie, but it does get easier. I ended up doing it twice because my surgery was cancelled the day before it was scheduled (wah wah) Not knowing what your pre-op diet consists of, it's hard to give detailed advice. Mine was three protein shakes, 4oz of chicken and some veggies. I actually started looking forward to the shakes! It was worth it though because my surgeon said my liver looked good and made the surgery easier. Good luck!! You'll do great!
  13. What could you use instead of parmesan cheese? I dislike parmesan very much
  14. @KevinS62 Good luck! I am only 3 weeks out but I have no regrets. I already feel sooo much better!!
  15. @doobie31 Same here but I know I am doing all the right things so I am not going to stress about it. I’ll probably just stay off the scale for a few days and let it ride. I guess my body just needs to catch up with all of the changes in the last few weeks. The image @acopas shared is one I have seen other successful WLS people post. We got this!
  16. Yay! I had my 2-week post op today too. Doctor and Nutritionist were both happy with my progress (30 lbs down including pre-op) and moved me to soft foods for two weeks.
  17. You would also subtract sugar alcohols since they don't have an effect on blood sugar. Beware though, too much sugar alcohol could give you the runs...
  18. So would they say the same thing if you had your gallbladder or appendix removed to save your life? I don’t think so. They are looking at it as cosmetic not as a means to extend your life.
  19. Same here. I know it's only temporary so I'm not worried about it. I am concentrating on getting all my fluid and proteins in now. Hang in there!
  20. My VSG was yesterday morning. Went perfectly well. I was pretty groggy yesterday but walked around the hallways a few times and hit my water goal. Gas pain has been reasonable. My ox-sat is low so I am on oxygen right now. Will go home later!
  21. Me! I check-in at 5am. Starting to get a little nervous but excited to get this thing going!
  22. I’m the 21st as well. I’m on day 7 of the pre-op diet and have lost 12.5 lbs. I gave up Diet Coke a couple months ago after about a 30 year addiction lol. My grandkids are here this week but I’m doing well so far. Already been postponed twice so I’m ready for this one!
  23. Awesome! It is nice to have others going through this with me
  24. Maybe a silly question but was anyone told to take off their nail and toe polish before surgery?
  25. After being cancelled twice, I am now June 21st!
