  1. Thank you:) !! You too Melly!! You will do great!! For me ,the 2 week post-op was exciting . Let us know how it goes.
  2. Hi All, Well I weighed myself this morning and finally,I have lost one more pound . I know it's only one pound but I was excited. The only thing that I did different the last couple of days was increased my calories slightly. I've also decided to stay on mushies a little bit longer ,even if the dietician decides to progress me to the stage 4 diet this Friday when I go in for my one month post -op. Last Friday ,I had a tremendous amount of chest pain and I suspect part of my problem has been ,I tend to eat fast because i'm always on the go and I have to stop that because ,BOY OH BOY is it painful,my other issue is,in my opinion I think I probably should have stayed on liquids longer than I have. The nurse I spoke to Friday said that most likely the chest pain is caused by swelling and that I need to evaluate what i'm eating ,so the only thing i've been on the last 2 days is liquid Protein drinks and mushies only but no meat of any kind.I was eating quite a bit of tuna as well as turkey & fish but even though it's on my stage 3 diet list,I think it was too soon for me and the Nurse agrees. I think she didn't want to come right out and say that she thought the dietician progressed me too soon. I was just so excited about being able to eat normal foods,I didn't think much about it. What I did find out is that I can't really do chicken which the nurse told me that most band patients can't. This is truly a trial & error situation.
  3. Yes,what you are experiencing is normal. I find it simply absurd that someone would be back at work after 2 days but it's possible I guess. I promise you ,in about a week you will feel much better and I would say by two weeks ,you will feel pretty much back to normal. I had surgery on November 3rd and my Incisions still feel a little sore but outside of that ,I feel much better. Hang in there.
  4. I'm sorry to hear about that Firedad. When did you have your first fill ? Recently? Maybe you are due for another .
  5. LOL I cracked up when you said that you feel my pain lol. I remember feeling that exact same way that you're describing ,even with liquids. Congrats on being banded :grouphug: !
  6. That's how I am as well,I can definately tell a difference depending on what I eat. I've also been told that there will be certain foods that I can tolerate in the mushy stage that I will not be able to tolerate once I have a fill.
  7. You too Roxy! I hope you're doing well also. I'll be better once I get the hang of my band lol.
  8. Thank you for your response ,Jack. I think you're right. I also think I must be expecting too much too soon for myself. I'm a bit of a worry wart lol.
  9. This is also my Doctor's philosophy. He wants to make sure that one really needs a fill before he does it. So you have not had a fill yet ,is that correct?
  10. I go December 5th for my second follow up appt so I think i'll know more then. I did ask the nurse about why he waits that long to have a fill, she stated they will not do a fill much earlier than that due to the healing process ,she also stated that some may not even need a fill then.
  11. I guess it hasn't changed much but for a while (especially the first week after surgery),my Husband sort of gave me the cold shoulder. He said it had nothing to do with the surgery but I wonder. About a month before I had surgery,he admitted to me that he's afraid I won't be attracted to him anymore when I lose all the weight. He's saying this because he's also overweight. However I convinced him otherwise. I still can't help but wonder ,in the long run if he will have an issue with me losing weight. He told me the other day that there is no way in hell that he could ever have the surgery. He flat out doesn't want to and I would never try to get him to change his mind .
  12. I have yet to try the Unjury soups. Thank you for the heads up though lol. Aren't they kind of pricey too?
  13. Oh I love chips&salsa too.I don't know what I would do if I had to give up Mexican Food. It's my fave!
  14. I've heard this is pretty normal. Something to do with your body being in "shock" from the surgery.
  15. I can relate to this also (about your friends). My friends are acting kind of ,stand-offish to me and I think it's sad. I don't get it either.
  16. Hi there. I can so relate to your fears. We have to keep telling ourselves that we won't fail. We just can't !! I think it's interesting your Doctor isn't doing your fill until late December/Early January. Same with mine and i'm not sure why their waiting so long.
  17. I understand about missing certain foods(i'm not an expert bandster as of yet though) but eventually you will be able to have most foods ,just in way smaller porportion. I've not had any chips since the surgery but I have had like low carb wraps which are similar to the tortillas(my dietician approved) however I had a hard time with them. From what i've been told is that everyone is so different in what they can tolerate. If you are able to tolerate them,I would definately recommend the whole weat tortilla chips. Their so much better for you.
  18. I'm so sorry you're going through this Leslie!! Please don't be embaressed for reaching out, that's what this board is for !! I'm not experianced with this particular problem but I would definately call your Doctor right away. Please let us know!
  19. I can't thank you enough for your posts. This really helps me to get a realistic perspective. I sort of feel like i'm walking in the dark ,when it comes to my band. Like for me,I tend to be more tight in the afternoon and evening but have no idea why. I do tend to sometimes be a fast eater (because i'm always on the go) and i'm trying so hard to slow down. This is all so new.
  20. Hi! I was banded on November 3rd,i'm still at the 10 pound weight loss mark and I hope the scale starts moving agian and soon lol.
  21. Hi again, My question is this (and I seem to have several at once lol) but anyways,I had my surgery on 11-3-08. I've not had a fill yet but there are times when I eat that it's almost uncomfortable (pain in the chest area)and then there are times I can't feel anything. I posted this in one of my replies but I figured i'd post this thread by it's self. Can you all give me some idea what you were FEELING a few weeks after your surgery? I'd really appreciate it!!
  22. This is a HUGE fear of mine. I'm always worried about eating too much ,too little etc. I need to stop worrying ,just not sure how lol.
  23. I have no idea why they wait this long. I'm curious if there is anyone else out there that's had a similar experiance.
