Ah thats great u got ur date... so far as i know the price varies between €3400 and €3950 depending on bmi but the package is €4000 so thats why i went with it its a set price and would out cheaper and like me ur taking 2people if u asked frederik for a room for 3 its €100 extra or if u want 2 rooms its €300 extra... As for flights i booked mine last week i booked 2flights on the wed cos i thought only 2of us were going and they cost €290 i booked them in a hurry cos they went up about €70 each over nite came home and my mums friend said she would come to keep mammy company and to go shopping haha and i checked flight that eve and it was only €120 for her i was sick so it looks like there is no ideal time to book your flights what price are ur flights now? If they are around €120 or under id prob book them now cos ur going for the op no matter what hope this info is ok for ya... im just starting my pre op diet today i should of been on it before this i havnt a clue what im ment to be doin but sure il do my best haha Ursula x

Hi angie i booked with aer lingus they fly into ln to brussels international ryanair are to far out and taxi wont collect u there u speak to frederik about the package there are 2 one for €4000 to stay in 3star hotel (i picked the 3star) or one at €4500 for 5star. frederik.serneels@ecfs.be thats his email addy u have to logde €400 deposit into their bank account 2wks before sugery so they can book hotel and everything Ursula xXx

Ah im the same boat other than my mum i only told two mates who are sisters the last i want is to be gossip about the town nothing worse... My mum and her friend are coming with me i was going to go on my own but glad im not... pity we didnt get chattin a few wks ago we could of got same date but really push and say u want the earliest possible date... yeah ur flat out no time for eating haha Ursula xXx

But if i were u i would email dr chris and ask him what is the earliest surgery date available and book it thats what i done and if i had to leave it til i had consultation i would of been waiting another month cos he was booked up cos im sure ur like myself and would like a bit of bulge gone for xmas haha and u know the consultation is €120 he better get to bed early on the 4th its mad hes over here the day before my op id say ur all excited now Ursula xx

Ah best of luck angie with ur doc i have to see mine this wk too she knows im planning on the surgery but i havnt told her yet about going to belgium she thought i was going to the beacon in dublin so will be good to hear what ur doc says... Hi wriggle Yeah have to do a 2wk low fat diet so starting on thurs eating like a wee pig at the min haha afraid il miss something when banded but the thing il miss the most is diet pepsi... But yeah i think iv made the right choice in dr chris i havnt heard a bad word about him i cant wait to get it done but since i booked flights on thurs it feels real for the first time im full of fear an mixed emotions which i didnt think i would have but thanks for ur good luck wishes

Hi nina Just wondering il be banded on 5th os sept but can i drink tea/water etc the same as other people or only sips at a time i would like to drink at a normal pace i know fizzy drinks are a no but also what about alcohol? Thanks a million

Hi angie yes that price icludes everything its a standard package for 2people or u can pay for op and find ur own accom i just went with it for handiness i had a consultation in dublin on the 7th of august usually there is a month of a waiting list for surgery but some people dont have consultation till nite before surgery in belgium ur bloods and ecg are done the morn of surgery he is ment to be a top surgeon money wasnt a issue for me just he seemed the best for me his website is www.obesity-assist.com if u want to book a consultation in dublin i know he is here the 4th the day before my surgery it costs €120 and can be booked through his secretary julie tosh 00447872963503 you can also email his manager frederik at frederik.serneels@ecfs.be and ask him for further info hope this is of help to u il be off line as i have to go to town but il be back on in a hour or so if u need anything else i was in ur situation a few weeks ago always good to have someone toask

Hi angie324 im from dundalk so just across the border i looked at every option in ireland i was willing to pay €11,500 for surgery in the beacon in dublin but after chatting to alot of people and doing my research im being banded on the 5th of september in belgium by dr chris de bruyne everyone speaks so highly of him his cost is €4000 thats for 3night stay in hotel well 2for u as nite of surgery ur in hospital but 3nites if u have someone with u taxi trips from/to airport/hospital and the surgery he really comes highly recommended u have to pay for ur own flights. im going over the 4th surgery the5th and home the 7th i never thought id go foreign for surgery but i am happy with my choice he comes to dublin every month for fills these cost €120 hope this is of some help to you

Ah thanks again englishrose i think iv asked enough questions now i mite see if i can get a pill crusher cos i want to take my vitamins for hair skin and nails im a beautician but my hair is my pride and joy and some people have lost a bit of hair so dont want that to happen im sure they would be ok to crush cos they are quite big and even broke in half dont think ya could swallow them... Hope ur keepin well... Think il join ww on thurs when im startin my pre op diet just to keep track of what im losin my best mates weddin is on 11th oct and i have to lose at least 2stone to get into dress so il do loads of exercise an be very good i hope it works lol

Do they give plenty of pain med leaving hospital or is there anything i should bring also when can you shower?

Ah thanks english rose for ur info i hope the gowns are big haha ah well its booked now and near €900 spent so far between flights and the deposit so no backing out now just wish it was tomorro... This mite be a weird question but when i get to hospital at 7.15am do they do tests straight do u wait long for the surgery i hate waiting haha

Hi everyone I have my surgery date for the 5th of september so in 19days (yes im counting) il be heading to belgium i had no nerves at all until i booked my flights on thursday and its starting to feel very real im so nervous now im going with the €4000 package i rang frederik to make sure there were no hidden costs and i lodged €400 to their bank account on friday i just thought it saved a lot of hassle and messing and its a great price my mum is coming with me and her friend so for a extra bed in the room its €100 so €4100 in total my mum has never flown so im nervous about that... Just wondering what i need to take with me i havnt a clue and also what i should do as a pre op diet any info would be great i hope to lose about 115lbs im 6ft and i would like to be around 14-15stone size 16 as with my height i could carry it...

Hi everyone hope everyone is keeping well... Ok well my flights are booked and the nerves are kicking in big time!!! I was just wondering what to do about a pre op diet dr de bruyne never gave any info on it and its only from reading the forums i realised a pre op diet has to be done and poor me thinking id pig out for the next few weeks lol also is there anything i should take with me or have for when i come home any info would be great...

Hi there bubble i too didnt know where to go i was considering beacon clinic but have now made my mind to go to brussells im having my surgery on the 5th of september i feel its the right choice and anyone who i have spoke to speaks very highly of dr de bruyne im opted for standard package which is €4000 includes op 1nite hospital stay and 2nites hotel and u can also take someone with u and taxis to and from airport hospital and hotel dr de bruyne comes to dublin once a month for fills and these are €120 ihope this info is of some help to you...
