  1. Hi All, Denis from Ireland here. 8 days out from surgery. 322 pounds at the weigh in to gauge the anaesthetic and 308 pounds at at a weigh in yday. Some notes: had huge buyers remorse in hospital on day 2. I was a day late being released as my tummy wouldn't tolerate the cubitan. Was stessing but the overnight nurse was brilliant and calmed me down saying everybody is different. She was right day 3 was a huge day went home lunchtime day 4. I am a bit behind food wise i.e this morning is day 8 and soft food causes dumping. Let me clarify soft fiod that is not pureed e.g a dash of onion, or another example a mushroom soup with thyne and other flavours. Its not worh it. Key to the kingdom are freshfruit smooyhies with all the added protein powder you need for the day. Still get hunger pangs but if I consume my smothie as above I am ok Sent from my SM-G973F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Recovery time

For me its day 8 post op and I've noticed a huge pick up in energy levels. You'll be fine to live normally after a week with one caveat : if you deviate off the diet plan and are out and about you are not going to be in good shape. If you start dumping and are not home to lie down and rest you will not be able to function. So there is your choice, go back to work but take no chsnces with food. For me the golden ticket is fruit smoothie with protein powder. I've learnt my lesson Sent from my SM-G973F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Still pain at incision site

What they dont tell you about surgery: day 7-10 is when your nerves start regenerating and those are often the most psinful days. That's why they prescribe you the soluble pain killers. After day 12 you won't feel anything Sent from my SM-G973F using BariatricPal mobile app
