Still pain at incision site

Hey everyone I was wondering how long everyone had pain at the site where they took the part of your stomach out. I’m now 3 weeks out and still having very sharp pain. I still cannot bend down or anything. Just hoping it will feel better soon. The doctor said it’s normal but I just want others opinions.

Yes, I'm thinking it should be gone soon. I wasn't able to bend over or anything for that amount of time either due to the pain in that spot. I remember reading about others who had the surgery done c

I’m hoping for some relief soon it’s only the one incision but it hurts

I'm sorry you're going through this for so long. You'll get varied responses here. I never had any pain and never took any of the pain medication. But others, obviously, have. It probably is "normal" like your surgeon said and if you need a pain pill, take one. It shouldn't be too terribly much longer before it settles down, like at the 4 week mark.

I had no pain whatso ever not even gas pain. I made up for that with nausea and vomiting though yuk. Hope your pain settles soon

Yup. I had that stupid pain at that location until about week 3 or 4! Up until that time I had to sleep semi sitting up in bed because I dare not lay down flat or on my side cause if I did, YIKES, that pain! LOL Anyway, it was a pain in the you-know-what but it should be giving you some relief soon, I'd say.

Yes, I'm thinking it should be gone soon. I wasn't able to bend over or anything for that amount of time either due to the pain in that spot. I remember reading about others who had the surgery done close to my date were able to lay down no problem from day one. I was so jealous. LOL But yeah, one day you'll just notice it no longer hurts.

Curious if that pain has finally gone away for you?

Hi,

Are you putting anything on your incisions? Aquaphor is a good place to start. You need to keep those incision lines moisturized so that they heal nicely and more importantly, reduce the pain and discomfort.
