  3. I was just thinking “in addition” . I was looking at the hydration bags and not so much the vitamin injections right away. And Never in place of regular vitamin intake.
  4. Yikes that is a bit expensive !
  5. I just keep reading so many stories of people not being able to get in the fluids that first week and feeling horrible with brain fog dehydration weakness
  6. Would you have used this the first week after surgery ? Do you think it’s worth it When only a few days post op
  7. Just thinking …. This is a local hydration vitamin bar. Would anyone try this immediately Post op for wellness and recover just to get by the rough patch. It is medically supervised. Curious as too what everyone’s thoughts are who have been there and needed IV for dehydration after surgery. I will ask my surgeons thoughts when I go next.
  8. Good Luck to you both ! We are scheduled on the same day ! I will say a prayer for you both.
  9. Wow Now I feel very rushed at 10 days ! I don’t have a heavy lifting job but I am on my feet standing or walking for most of a 12 hr day
  10. I Feel this way too. I’m starting to look at everything I eat and wonder if I will ever be able to eat it again. It is making me realize how much pleasure I truly associate with food. I need to find something else to fulfill that feeling
  11. Wow. That is a difference. As long as my approval goes through…I have only paid about $300 worth of copay’s
  12. Lol I never even thought of that !
  13. I had to be accepted to get an appointment. Meet BMI and coinciding morbidities and insurance coverage. My initial visit consisted of weigh in. General Health review, an assessment of what I understood of the surgery. They reviewed dedication involved in the process, diets tried and failed in the past. Nutrition questionnaire. Detailed checklist of approval process for surgeon and health insurance.
  14. I didn’t realize until researching the surgery that people travel to Mexico to have it done. Can I ask why that was your choice ? I am just curious. Sorry if that seems blunt but I am interested in why people to travel to have the surgery done. And where do you live if you don’t mind me asking.
  15. Laurie A. I’m very ready too ! Sounds like you are gonna do great
  16. My Dr. said plan to be off work 10 days.
  17. Anyone willing to share there starting points ? I’m 45 yrs old Ht. 5’6. Wt. 226. BMI is 36.5
  18. Yikes 3 weeks is a long time. That will be difficult I’m sure. Do they give you a discount for the prescription on your Optifast ? It sounds expensive ! I was curious.. lol… I went and read about the Optifast. That sounds like a really good product.
  19. I’m scared that This won’t work. I have gone and done something so drastic as to get 80%of my stomach cut out and I will be one of the people who lose 25lbs and my body just stops despite what I do. I am afraid I will have complications. That will make me regret the surgery. I’m just plan worried. Lol
  20. Yea for you ! What state are you in ? I am in Ohio.
  21. How are you feeling? Nervous ? Excited ? Has your Dr. Given you your pre and post op diet instructions yet ? I am interested if they differ from my own. Pre Op 1 week liquid diet Post Op 1 week clear liquids 2 week clear liquids only adding protein shakes if tolerated week 3-6 very soft diet week 7 ease into regular textures
  22. Got a surgery date of June 22 2022 !!! Who is with me ?!?!
  23. Update : I called the pulmonologist that I had the set June appointment with, explained the situation, I now have an appointment March 31 ! Receptionist said it was no problem. The bariactric nurse simple asked for an appointment and must not have looked at my file to see that all other requirements will be met by March 8th. (Ya know, the little details). This now gives me a 3 month allowance for insurance clearance before my deductible rolls over. So glad I didn’t just sit back and accept the appointment situation. Saved myself time and thousands of dollars. Thanks for all the support !!!!!
