  2. I'm so sorry you were in the ER last night where were you having pain? Did they give you anything for the reflux? Did they say why you were in so much pain etc? I hope you get better fast...it sucks to bein pain ((HUGS))
  3. I was banded on June 9th. It was really bad the 1st week and a 1/2 now I feel great. I agree He is very strict with our diets. I'm almost 3 weeks and I'm dying over here it seems we even skip the mushy stage and go right into regular foods. So I have a week and a half and I can eat again. I have NO restriction at all and when I saw him I asked him what size band he put in me and he put in the 14cc large band. Do you know what size band you have? I get my first fill July 13th and I see Susanna on the 19th. So happy to have met you!!!
  4. Yup we had the ame Dr!!!!! When were you banded? How are you doing so far? :scared2:
  5. I go for my first fill on July 13th and and freaking out it's gonna hurt like you know what. I can not feel my port under my skin even though I have a pretty tight abdomen(SP?) How does it feel to get your fills do you cringe thinking about it or is it now routine that nothing bothers you. I'm a baby when it comes to needles and have extreme anxiety what should I expect???
  6. Do you know what date the July meeting is?
  7. I live in the Paramus area too. Can you give me dates and times for Englewood and Hackensack support groups. I would love to go and meet people in the same boat as me. My nutristionist does the one out of Chilton Hospital but it's at 5:30pm I may see if I can work it out and go to the July meeting. But I think the more meetings I go to the better off i will be. Thanks for all your replys maybe we can all meet one day and have a bandster meet and greet!!!!
  8. We have a great community called "JUNE BUGS" for those of us that were banded in June 2010. It's under community then social groups and you will find us. Great group of people all going thru the same thing at the same time basically. I was banded on June 9th too and finally feel great. Hope to see you at the June Bugs social group!!!!
  9. I'm looking for support groups either in Northern NJ or NYC I need all the support I can get and I would really like to meet some bandsters going thru what I am going thru and those that are in in in the long haul. Thanks in advance!!!!
  10. Hi I'm Samantha located in northern NJ about 20 min from the city. Would love to meet other's close to me that have had the surgery. Maybe over the summer we can all get together and swap stories!!
  11. Thanks for your replies... I guess i just expected a magic bullet. And I of all people seem to be doubting myself. I know I can do it....I can do it.... I will do it.... I must do it. I guess because I am reading so many different posts I am getting discouraged that this will not work for me some people lose alot others lose basically nothing and that scares the hell out of me after what I put my body thru. I guess I just got scared because I drank a whole protein shake whereas I could only drink 2-4oz at a time the pass week...that scared me. Me being hungry scares me. having NO restriction scares me.... I'm scared i'm going to fail even with a tool to help me. I'll try to be more positive and happy, but thanks for taking thetime out to reply.
  12. I;m also thinking it's the port site. Mine still hurts and I'm 8 days out when I breathe too hard, adjust myself wrong it all hurts. I'm still on pain meds so it helps alot. I does get better. Just hang in there!!!!
  13. I finally feel better today:tt1: for the 1st time in a week. But I have NO restriction at all and feel as if i could eat anything I want at this point. My Dr gave me a 14cc band for some strange reason (i'm 4'11" and was 199lbs at surgery) (he said i had fatty tissue surronding my stomach) I think it's going to take me that much longer to lose this weight with such a big band in my stomach. Does anyone else have a 14CC lap band?
  14. BUMP Is it normal to have such a large band around my stomach? From what i see in oher posts most people get the 10CC band why did my dr picksuch a large band for me....
  15. I'm getting very discouraged so far with my lapband. yesterday I went to see my Dr post -op (banded 6/9) he told me he put in a 14CC band around my stomach (I'm 4'11 weighed 199 at time of surgery). He said there was fatty tissue around around my stomach and thats why he went for the larger band. I was also very very sore at the port site and in terrible pain until I woke up this morning and now I feel so much better- not sure why but I do.... I can breathe, walk lay down all easier. My Dr wanted me to get a cat scan to make sure there was no swelling around the port site, so I called them them this morning and told them how much better I am feeling and am waitig for them to call me back. This morning i was able to drink a whole protein shake 11oz (with a straw) with no problem (pretty fast too) unlike yesterday where I could barely get anything down and felt like throwing up all day. What's wrong with me? One day I can't eat anything the next I'm drinking a whole shake like there is no tomorrow...could it be because the port pain feels so much better therefore I feel better? Anyone that can help I need it any encouragaing words send them my way...I'm having a hard time with all of these ups and downs it's really affecting my moods. TIA
