  1. I am 3 months postop and I drink 2-3 cups of coffee in the am. My doc is ok with it, as long as I religously take my protonix. I didnt drink any coffee until about 2 months post op. I water it down now and use a sugar free creamer, so probably not as bad as before. I'm a grumpy butt without coffee. (-:
  2. I had my first fill in December 3cc in a 10cc band. I have zero restriction. I can eat anything. I go in for my second fill on Monday! Thank goodness. I am trying so hard to stick to the portion sizes, but not doing so great. Hopefully after tomorrow, I will be doing much better. Good luck all.
  3. I am at a plateua as well! Not a pound lost since Christmas. Got a fill 12-1, with no restriction! So I've been sitting at the same weight since! No fill scheduled until the 19th! How frustrating! My doc only does fills every 6 weeks! Well only 5 more days till 2nd fill! Thank goodness. Good luck all.
  4. I agree with everyone else here, have surgeon check it for a blood clot. That being said, I had low potassium after surgery for a few weeks. I had to take an additional potassium supplement. I had horrible leg cramps and soreness from the low potassium. But now 2 months later no problems at all! Love my band.
  5. I get this if I eat too much, too quickly or try to drink too soon after eating. I feel it in my chest and in my right shoulder. If I stop eating and wait awhile it usually gets better. I don't think I had this problem when I was on liquids and mushies, just started on solids. Good luck with it! It is hard to get used to the feelings of being full!
  6. I don't have a gallbladder anymore it's been gone for 3 years. Dont' think its related to that. I almost think that it is restriction. I don't have soreness or tenderness unless I eat something solid. My surgeon looked at it when I was in on Monday and didnt seem concerned at all. I have to go to my family doc this week for my annual. I am going to ask her to double check. Thanks for the responses. Kelli
  7. We must be about the same date and size. I was banded 10-22, wearing a 22-24 that day. Had my first fill 12-1, and I also can get on size 18s now too! How cool!!! Good luck to you and continue to keep us posted. Nice to know someone in the same area of the journey with me. Thanks, Kelli
  8. I personally like Hoosier Tom's comments. I think they helped me stay on track and think about my choices. Thanks Tom. And to your friend, best of luck.
  9. Have you check the St Francis Weight Loss Center? Phone number is 317-782-7525.
  10. I have lots of 2x tops and a few pants. I live in Indiana. Im me if you want to pick them up. Or we can see about shipping. Thanks!!!
  11. Oh my goodness. I am so glad you are doing better. That must have been horrible. Hope everything goes better with next fill. I just got my first fill 12-1 after my first 6 weeks post op. I have 3cc in a 10cc band. My doc waits 6 weeks between fills, I'm not scheduled for my 2nd fill until 1-19. Good luck to you!
  12. I have a 10cc realize band. My first fill was 12-1 and I got 3cc. I am not scheduled to see dr back until 1-19. That seems like a long time to go until I get another fill... Hmmm....Hopefully all goes well. Good luck all!!!
  13. How wonderful! Thanks for sharing! Congratulations!
  14. I had my first fill on 12-1, and my right side just below my ribcage is sore. Not really painful, but sore. I am able to eat and drink fine. I think it is where my band is. Drs office doesnt seem concerned. :cursing: Anyone had a bit of discomfort there after a fill? He put 3cc in a 10 cc band. Don't feel much restriction yet. Thanks for your advice. Kelli:teeth_smile:
  15. I got a 3cc fill on monday. I know they do push awful hard. Wow, but I was numb. I don't feel a whole lot of restriction yet. My right side where my band is is still sore. Not painful, just irritated. I'm able to eat smushies, anything really hard I havn't tried since fill. I'm not scheduled for another fill until 1-19. Which seems like it will be too long to wait. My doc is an every 6 weeks kind of guy. Hopefully that works.
  16. Thank goodness the surgery went well. I just know she will be on the mend soon. May God bless you and your family with a joyous holiday season.
  17. I was banded in October and have dyed and permed my hair since then. No problems. I did perm to make it look thick again, since I was loosing a little bit of hair. Good luck.
  18. This is great! Made me sit and look at my multivitamin closely. thank you!
  19. I would do it again in a second! I am only 6 weeks out and love it. My insurance covered the surgery at 90% after a six month attempt at weight loss with my DR. My fill for the first 6 weeks post op are covered as part of the surgery and then after that I have a copay. 25 I think. But so worth it, because I get to meet with a dietician after every fill. I shouldve done this years ago. Good luck in your choice. And by the way had first fill Monday and there was no pain. They even numb it.
  20. Thanks Tess! I think it may have been gas! I took a gas ex tablet and now about 40 mins later I feel a bit better. It is still tender, but at least I think I can sleep now. Thanks for respones! I will call dr tomorrow if in pain! Good night all!
  21. I like matrix by syntrax, in chocolate or cookies n cream. They are very filling and stay with me for a few hours. They are about the only ones I can handle. I do like unjury chocolate too!
  22. I just went for my first fill today. I had not been losing for a week and a half. So please good God let this be what I need to start loosing again. Good luck all!!!
  23. I have a 10cc band. It was empty after surgery. It now has 3cc in it.
  24. Ok had my first fill today! At around 330pm. It didnt hurt a bit, just pressure as he was pushing down to fill. Then my band hurt, actual pain from the band back to the port. Is this normal? I have had plenty of liquids since, but I am having a good deal of discomfort at the band site. Probably swelling? It is now 10pm and I am uncomfortable enough to go and take some of my post op hydrocodone. Is that normal? How soon after did you resume food? My doc said 24 hours of liquids. Just wanted some advice.. Thanks in advance. Kelli
  25. I've been having this problem since my surgery on 10-22. My doctor did labwork and I was low on potassium. You may want to try and eat some smashed bananas or even prunes. They both have a good amount of potassium in them. Also g2 gatorade has potassium, but very few carbs. I have increased my fluids a bunch and ate a banana a day and a few prunes and now mine are doing much better. Don't forget to walk, walk, walk. Good luck.
