  1. I drank lots of Water yesterday and was going all day and night and also made sure I wasnt constipated.. (strong black espresso  ) and I weighed myself this morning and it was the same... so I have vowed to weigh myself once a week only.. I should have done this earlier.. but it didnt seem to matter when the scale was moving every couple of days. I am just tired of being in a bad mood about it.. ignorance is bliss! at least this way I will only be in a bad mood once a week on friday when I weigh in..
  2. thanks for the encouragement ..seriously I need it. I definately need to drink more Fluid.. for sure! and I have been doing the Protein, produce and very little carbs thing.. and I am not eating slider foods or liquid calories... I am not sure what my calorie count is.. it is low.. but probably not under 1000. I do about the same thing eating everyday (with some variations) to keep myself in check .. the routine helps me. thats what drives me crazy. I am doing things by the book.. ah well.. I just need to keep going.. its just so discouraging to break 250 for the first time in 10+ years and then go right back over it! blah.. well I am off to work out.. have a great day guys..
  3. Ok so something reaallllly weird is going on.. I was 249 before my last fill and in 3 days I was down to 246 (which is typical because of not eating much after getting a fill) and now about a week and a half after my fill I am 252!!! I have weighed myself several times over the last 3 days so its actually what I am.. so I gained 6 lbs!! thats impossible! and what is so strange is the amount of food I have been eating since my last fill is totally cut in half or a third of what I was eating.. 1/2 cup definately fills me up! and I am not eating crap either.. I am so stumped.. not to mention ticked! it just makes no sense! the only possible explaination I could fathom is that I am pg.. but its way to early for weight gain.. I still have to wait about 2 weeks if that was even a possibility.. so its most likely not man this stinks!
  4. Its true.. in a matter of 6 weeks you can go from too tight to too loose.. your stomach is a huge fat deposit place.. and when you lose weight the fat around the stomach shrinks and so it makes the band looser. also when you get a fill whether too tight or just right you always need at least a week to two weeks to "let the fill settle" meaning that when you get a fill swelling will happen (hense the liquid for 48 hours thing) so to actually know how tight this fill will be you need to let it settle.. the swelling to go down and then you see where you are at. so you may have been too tight but in 2 weeks you could be too loose or just right. my doc says if after 2 weeks you dont lose 1-2 lbs a week and you can eat more than 1/2 cup.. then you need a fill. Donna is right.. thats why its adjustable.. and most people I have talked to that have had the LB for a long period of time say it took months to a year to finally get adjusted correctly. so hang in there.. I think its a process.. we are all in this boat.. months out.. hoping the pounds would be flying off.. and instead struggling to lose one! we just need to keep getting adjusted and keep our chins up! :scared2:
  5. doesnt help that I killed myself with yesterdays workout. I guess I was just amazed at how much more I could do and pushed myself way to hard.. ouch.. this sucks.. I just feel like I was so pumped and went down a size and then its like the big let down.. like.. well.. until the next size.. I know its a bad attitude.. I need to start being more thankful of where I am at.. thankfulness usually kicks the blah in the butt. Hang in there Donna.. we'll get through this! thanks for sharing in this with me.
  6. blah!!! working out.. just got a fill and blah!! thats how I feel!
  7. Haha! Kimaly wins the prize!! its my daughter's bum.. she was bent over wearing a tutu!
  8. orea- I agree.. as loose as possible while getting the job done!! my doc does ours in front of the flouroscopy and we have to drink thick nasty barium while he adjusts us.. but I like that he can see the speed of which its traveling because then he knows how tight I really am. He is the more aggressive doc.. and I just heard this horror story of being too filled..so when he said to me you want to be really tight? I was like whoa! and then when he was asking me he had pulled some out and I just couldnt tell where I was at. I dont like that.., because then you think well maybe? or maybe not? and its like you dont remember what it felt like to begin with.. it just messed with my head! we will see.. I am anxious to start solids to see whats up. glad to see you are getting some results and relief from hunger. keep it up girl!
  9. hey boos, hang in there.. the fact that the band is 90% me and 10% the band is why I got this done in the first place. I watched both of my parents have the bypass and not learn how to eat right and change the way they live and as a result still have problems.. and still struggle with weight.. I wanted this to be a lifestyle change and the band was just the tool I needed to finally make it work.. to stick with it.. because no matter how many plateaus I hit I can still do something about it.. and that something will work.. if I say I am not making the right food choices and not losing.. then I cant complain that I am not losing.. BUT when I do make the right food choices and watch my calorie intake I can be proud of the pound or even half pound I lost that week. I look at this lap band like a gift I have been given. not every overweight person has this tool to be able to actually "try" and suceed. thats what this band has been for me.. I know.. that no matter how bad a week might feel.. or if I am struggling to squeeze the pounds off.. or if I have to be more self disciplined to do it.. I dont get discouraged.. because I am not going back to where I was before.. helpless and defeated with no options. yes I may have to work.. but man the sweet taste of victory when it works. you can do this!! it takes time to get the band adjusted to the right spot. some say even up to 8 months or so. in other news: 3rd and much needed fill today.. its hard to tell where I am at.. the doc kinda scared me because I could feel him tightening me and I felt like UGGGG and he says "do you wanna be really tight?" and I said "well dont kill me".. and then he took a little out.. so I am thinking am I where I need to be or am I gonna need to come back in a week??!! well heres to hoping. sweet spot here I come!!
  10. I found this yesterday after you asked and forgot to post it to you Bodybugg Review | Does Bodybugg Work?, Pros & Cons what it seems to say is that although its using the latest technology it doesnt seem to be worth the cost.. its over 300 dollars.. also it says that people have gotten number obsessed instead of focusing on being healthy.. we all know thats a tendency.. like we need more numbers to look at... anyways just thought i would pass it on....
  11. Hey Jenhay, go here Weight Loss - Diet Ticker follow the instructions to make a weightloss ticker.. its pretty easy to follow then enter your weight and goal weight and when it gives you the code copy the bb code and paste it in your edit signature area and then save it.. the edit signature tab is on the left when you sign into your LBtalk account. if you have problems feel free to ask.. :cursing:
  12. We just traveled to europe and Quaker has these granola bars that are like peanutbutter chocolate chip and they have extra protein in them.. I think like 10g and they are like 110 calories.. I kept a stash on hand.. I actually keep some in my purse and they tend to tide me over. so get the ones that say protien on them.. I think they just have peanutbutter ones too.
  13. Seapoint Farms I found this online for anyone who was wanting the snack that Donna suggested. the Edamame... it looks yummy. :tongue2:
  14. hey does anyone else have mid back pain.. like between the shoulder blades and when its massaged huge belches come up?? I have since surgery had gas issues.. like huge amounts of gas get trapped and only by massaging my back and shoulders will it come out. does this happen to anyone else??? I mean its amazing the amount that comes out! it has to do with the surgery somehow because this never happened before.. :tongue2:
  15. oh and Kimaly... awesome on the size large pjs! and Donna.. another 1.5 lbs.. whooo hoo!
  16. Kimaly.. I am right there with you.. Valentines ticker is STUCK.. I stepped on the scale today and it still said the same friggin thing.. ahhh.. I cant wait till my fill next friday! and I guess the other good thing is that the scale still says 249.... which means I broke 250 and its not a dream!
  17. How's everyone doing?? its been pretty quiet at the start of the new year. I joined in on the 10lbs by valentines day. I get my next and much needed fill on the 16th.. the doctor is on vacation till then.. I got back from my trip and was all pumped up to finally get my next fill only to hear I had to wait over 2 more weeks!! I guess its up to me till then. We joined the YMCA because I refuse to go all winter with out being able to walk or do anything.. its so hard with a little one because you cant just step out into the freezing cold any time you want. its nice because they have good childcare while you work out. so I am excited about that. ok well everyone post a little something so we know how you all are.. Orea- good job holding steady!! and congrats on the 299 mark!! even though you may not be where you want to be I applaud you because you are doing awesome!..
  18. wow.. infections are no fun!! and blowing iv's either.. I know all to well about both! well I hope you are feeling much better soon! be careful about weighing yourself after the iv's (its false Water weight) you may already know that:wink2: seriously.. I know it was the tons of walking. it was nice to be able to eat chocolate and other things I wouldnt allow myself but to be able to walk everywhere because it wasnt freezing outside and burn it off!!:wink2: and everyone!!! you all did great this year! stop being so hard on yourselves.. this is a learning expierence for all of us and we cant wake up over night with it all together.. its true we need to work on ourselves and the concept of self control.. but walk in to 2009 as confident people who had lost some and will lose more.. Gods blessings to you all as this new year begins! May we all realize more and more that we cant change ourselves with out the help of the one who made us and loves us.
  19. Hey All.. I am back from Europe and pleasantly surprised at what my scale had to offer.. I am down 5 pounds since I left 3 weeks ago! this is such a victory because I knew before I left that I was needing a slight fill because I still can eat a tad more than I should and I am not getting that nice full feeling for very long.. anyways.. I am so surprised! the food in europe was not what you call band friendly :huh2: and we were eating out everyday.. 3 meals a day! So I am not at my end of the year goal.. but who really knew what would happen and its 30 lbs and I'll take it!! so here's to 2009. its so exciting to think that this year will bring for all of us. Orea- I think my goal is to self-control :tongue2: anyways.. its good to be back!
  20. Hello from Germany!! It’s taken me this long to post but here I am.. it’s funny cause we actually fly home tomorrow. Europe has been fun but challenging…everyone here eats bread, bread, bread, oh and really dry meat.. so lets just say I pb’d in Paris more times than I would have liked. My husband attributes that to the fact that we ate street food a lot.. I had the stomach flu just before I left and I have been walking my buns off.. cause that’s what you do here and my hubby told me I should step on the scale because I look good and I am going to wait till I am home with my own scale.. my luck.. There won’t be much change.. so I will wait till later to find out. Truth is I ate more chocolate here than I should have so it may have not helped.. we’re not talking huge amounts.. but I did eat it and I wouldn’t have allowed myself to at home. The curse of Europe… good chocolate and coffee!!! So here’s to another slight fill when I get home!! I caught up on all the posts.. good job everyone!!! Keep it up. This next year is going to be amazing for us all… I just know it!! God’s blessings on you and your families this holiday season!
  21. thanks Donna! I will have some access overseas but just not sure how much.. have a great Christmas.. on another note.. nothing like the stomach flu to kick the weightloss into high gear! ugh.. I really pray its a 24hr bug like my daughters!
  22. Hey all.. havent been on in awhile.. just caught up reading everyones posts.. I wont be around for awhile.. we are heading out of the country tomorrow.. take care everyone and God's blessing on you for this holiday season.
  23. awesome Orea! thats no small thing!! Kimaly, you are in my prayers as well.. please keep us posted.
  24. Hello everyone.. I am still around Happy belated b-day crzytchr.. Orea glad to hear things are going well.. I am with you on the thanksgiving thing.. my hubby's family didnt eat all day to say up for the big meal and I am thinking to myself.. ummm ya.. not a good idea.. starve yourself and then load up on carbs! I did pretty well overall.. my weight did go up about 4lbs when I weighed myself after returning home.. I dont know maybe it was the scale or the crazy time of day I weighed myself.. but I was a little upset.. its been 2days since I have been back and I have dropped 3 of those lbs. so something tells me it was something weird.. I am a little frusterated because I need a little more fill but I have to wait till January for it.. because I leave in 9 days for a 3 week trip.. I just really could use the extra restriction!! I have been being really good and trying to only eat when my stomach grumbles something I didnt do over thanksgiving weekend. man that food was so rich.. well hopefully I will check in again before we leave..
  25. MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE TOOOOOOOOOOO!!! the scale is not moving and I was told by my docs office to get back into the excercising to kick start the losing.... its 30 degrees outside!! I need to get to the mall or something and find my weights...
