Hello everyone! Just wanted to tell you ladies that I had surgery on sept 10th and there wasn't much pain at all. When I got to the center I was being a big baby so they gave me some happy drugs after that they knocked me out and performed the operation. After surgery I felt alot of pain from the incisions but after a couple hours it wasnt as bad, I didn't even take any of the pain killers that they prescribed. There is some slight discomfort but not enough to take pain killers. I had my 1 week follow up appointment today and i lost 7 pounds since surgery :thumbup:. I will probably get my first fill when I am at week 4.

I don't know how much restriction is due to the band. I know that my stomach probably shrunk some since i was on a liquid diet for a while. I can tell that I have restriction because I feel full, stuffed at times. I'm trying hard not to over eat because it makes my stomach hurt. I'm not eating on a huge plate either. But don't worry, as my doctors said, this is the time for healing, not to lose weight. As you get your adjustments you will find restriction so don't worry too much about it. Do you drink with your mushy food meals? I was told not to drink with my meals but i'm finding it hard not to. I have to work on it.

I started mushies yesterday, I had a couple bites and I was FULL. I don't have any fluid in my band yet either, I will get a fill on 10/9.

I have the Lap Band AP, which one do you have?

My surgery date is Sept 10th at 7:30am. I'm so nervous and excited. Add me to the list please.

Hello ladies, For my exercise I plan to walk on my treadmill, lift weights, go swimming (I love swimming). Also, I want to learn how to hoop dance, its not your average hula hooping. I think hula hoop dance will be a fun way to exercise and learn some sexy moves at the same time. As I become more active I might add in skating and running.

I'm glad you made this thread, I was told yesterday to lose 15 pounds before surgery. I didn't get any directions as to what i should do so I figured I should just drink whey gourmet Protein shakes and one salad with chicken a day.

Hmmm I have been eyeballing this dress at babyphat.com and I really really want it, although I can't fit it yet (not even close, I don't have a band yet). I'm sure it will be sold out by the time I lose the weight. The dress is 69.00 you guys think I should buy it now for inspiration?

Hey Brina, glad you found the group. I don't want to be skinny either I love having curves, just not rolls :smile: I'd probably like to be a size 10 12 or 14 i'm not sure because i don't know what they look like on me. As far as the, "black women "don't get wls". "we are made to be thick"" I have never heard that one, my sister has already had the gastric bypass. Plus there is a difference between fat and thick. I wanna join the thick crew :scared2:

I am so glad you didn't let him change your mind!! I think he is just feeling insecure too, he knows you will have a bunch of guys approaching you. Just make sure he knows you love him and you want leave him.

So I can fit under a normal size umbrella. So I can try on boots and not look foolish when they dont zip up on the calf. So everyone can stop thinking I am anti-social because I don't like to be seen at large gatherings.

Thanks. I was kicked off of my mamas insurance right when I turned 24 and decided to have the surgery. No one else would give me insurance at a reasonable price so I applied for different loans. Finally CareCredit.com came through and my consultation date is set for July 24th. Now all I have to do is hope the surgeon I want will accept CareCredit.

Hello my name is Angel. I am 24 years old. I'm from Chattanooga, Tn. I don't have any kids and I am single. I Have been overweight my whole life. I have never lived like a real person, I have always made myself an outcast due to my weight. My sister had the gastric bypass 2 years ago. I can't wait to get life started with the lap band :biggrin2:
