Yes! I love avacado and hummis! It is just so nice to be moving towards real food again.

My surgery was 8/2. I made a scrambled egg yesterday for the first time. It was do good! LOL

I had bypass on Aug 2nd. Doing pretty well. The hardest part is getting in protein. I did fine with shakes before the surgery and now they make me want to throw up after the first drink. I’m using protein powder in Gatorade zero and that’s working OK. I had a few bites of instant mashed potatoes yesterday and it was like heaven. Lol

My surgery was yesterday and I just got home. Everything went well. I am able to drink and the pain isn’t too bad. Hopefully things will keep going smoothly.

I will keep you all uodated! I have a horrible headache right now from not eating. I am trying to guzzle Gatorade but it doesn’t seem to be taking it away. I’m excited and to be honest not that nervous which is weird.

You should definitely contact the airline ahead of time and tell them that you need help. They will take you in a wheelchair from check-in to your gate and then help you get on the plane. So today is day eight of my pre-op diet. For some reason I am starving! I went to get my blood work done and saw sign across the room and thought it said cheese sticks. ?

Me too! How is your liquid diet going? Yesterday it was pretty good for me. Today for some reason I’m really hungry. I’m halfway there though!

I had a salad. Oatmeal has been one if my favorite things. I think because it’s hot, which sounds silly.

My surgeon allows sugar free applesauce. I can’t have any cheese but I don’t know the reason. LOL. I have been putting a bit of non sugar sweetener and cinnamon on my oatmeal and it’s been pretty good. ?

I am allowed to have broth, and I’m allowed to have non starchy vegetables… So is cabbage soup ok? I am on day 4 of my liver shrink diet and looking for some variety. ?

I started my pre op diet today. I have a couple of questions. Am I allowed to have an occasional cough drop? Do protein shakes count towards my daily liquid goal? I am allowed non-starchy vegetables. Am I able to make a small salad and use olive oil for the dressing? And lastly it seems like everything on my list of things to eat is sweet. OK not everything, but Between the shakes, and the pudding, and the Jell-O etc. it’s just a bit much for me. Anyway…day one completed!

Everything I read says approximately 2 to 5 weeks. I don’t do any heavy lifting at work but I’m definitely up and down all day. I’m just wondering what I should tell my boss. Is three weeks reasonable?

I will be starting my liver shrink diet in a few days. I am excited and freaking out at the same time! I keep thinking of foods that I need to eat because I won’t be eating them anymore after the surgery. I have to keep bringing myself back to focusing on getting healthy rather than the food. I am both ready and nervous!
