  1. Count me in, I need to get motivated about exercising. I have not been working out since I was banded on October 1st. I just finished 30 minutes on the stationary bike and I feel great. Looking forward to this exercise challenge.
  2. Hi, I am a 32 year old mother of one beautiful daughter. I live in the Washington, DC area...and was banded on this past Wednesday, October 1st. I am happily married with a very supportive husband. I work in the Human Resources field, in Employee Relations. I love my job, each day is different. You never know what idiotic thing an employee is going to do or say to require my intervention. I actually love working out but I have a problem being consistent. I enjoy Body Jam, Kickboxing, Step Aerobics..any kind of structured classes. I am looking forward to this journey. So far so good...
  3. I have so many goals but the most important for me are to: 1. Lower my cholesterol 2. Get rid of my reflux issues 3. Become more active 4. Being able to shop any where and actually finding cute clothes 5. Being comfortable while traveling
  4. I am from Washington, Dc and I was banded on October 1st by Doctor Halmi.
  5. Thanks for the information. I go to the Vienna office and so far I am really happy with what I've seen. What has been the hardest part of having this procedure for you? Are you achieving the results you hope to achieve? How has your follow up care been so far? I have definitely made up my mind to have the procedure, but I just want to know what to expect. One more thing....what brand of Protein shakes you buy? I am currently using the Atkins shakes and I like them (as long as they are really cold). I've have tried other brands that I thought were disgusting, what brand do you like?
  6. Did anyone use Dr. Halmi or Dr. Tran? I was approved for the lapband procedure yesterday. I have an appointment for my second consultation with Dr Tran next week, as well as an appt. to see the dietician (Brittany). So far, my experience with Dr Tran has been fine, the office staff seems very efficient and responsive.
  7. This is my first time posting but I have been reading post on LBT for about a month now. I finally got tired of fighting this never ending battle. I've been on every diet you can name, I paid expensive personal trainers, I've taken appetite suppressants and none of these things have helped me sustain weight loss. I've always been over weight, but now I am at my highest weight ever (257). I am 5'4 tall, my BMI is 43.8. I was very apprehensive about having to get approval from my insurance company but they approved me in less than 24 hours of receiving the paperwork from my doctor. Based on what I've been reading on LBT, that is record time. I enjoy reading your posts and I'm looking forward to being a part of the BANDSTERS club.
