  1. No I did not tell anyone I didnt have to - my reason in 2004 I had the bypass - 2006 gave birth and never lost the baby weight - so I'm "embarrassed" I guess to admit I had to have the revision done this past April - so only my hubby & best friend & brother know - I told my office & families that I had a different type of surgery - and I didnt tell my sis cause she worries - plus she had the band & isnt having a good experience (not losing any weight + shes a bit needy & would expect me to drive her to get her fills... I know it sounds awful but I cant taxi her around... longer story!) - so she doesnt know either - sp far Im only down a little Im praying by Xmas it wil be more - my hubbys Aunt noticed it right away - but I told her I was dieting.. Am I worng for feeling like a loser? (Not that having the revision surgery means your a loser - I just KNOW I have NO will power)
  2. Hey Wanda - i m here for ya if ya wanna chat - im alwasy around quietly surfing the net! I cant wait to get filled again on Aug 3rd - Dr said I can come back if I feel Im still eatting too much - but I need to control myself!!!! I always say Im like a puppy dog - if yo put food in fron tof me I WILL EAT IT!!!!!! LOL
  3. I dont know why its so low now - maybe cause your dieting before surgery you arent eatting enough of foods with iron - but I can say from experience - take the iron - cause I had the bypass in 2004 & then in April 2008 I had the band put in and when I was going for the pre op testing they found me severely anemic - also low Vit D - so I have to take 6 Flintsons chewable w/ iron plus another tiny iron pill plus a D pill every day - also PLEASE make sure you take colace or something like that because with all the extra iron YOU WILL 100% become MAJORLY constipated and again i know this from experience - its probably the foods your eatting - this is what I was told by my doc's & that it happens a lot w/ people who do like crash or fast diets - they still did the surgery on me - but I just have to be much more careful - also drink fluids - it will help w/ the constipation - lots of water - Lots of luck to you! Also check with your doc before hand being you have other situations with your health!!
  4. I think Im in the same boat - had surgery early April not down too much - can pretty much eat what I want if I chew slow - I think we all have to listen to wha other people say - it may take like 4, 5 or 6 fills to get it right - but when it works it WORKS! I know I have no paitence & I want it all NOW - but sometimes we have to wait a little for the grand prize at the end. Dont be discouraged Wanda - it will work out for all of us!! Good luck!
  5. I had Dr Ren back in March 2004 - she was great - you didnt really see her too much - that was right before they had there big BOOM - but I did have good experiences with her staff. I never met Dr Fielding but I heard from others he's agreat man. Good luck!!
  6. Hello all - My name is Julie - I was banded on 4/8/08 by Dr. Ewing (Hackensack, NJ) - staff not the greatest - but he's very cool. I actually had a revision done - I originally had the gastric bypass March of 2004 - went from 350 to about 170 - got preggers & never lost the baby weight - when I was banded I was 240 - now Im only down to 222 - I cannot break that mark. So far I have 4cc (is that correct 4cc's not too sure) of saline in me - and personally I do not think its enough - I pretty much can have anythign if I eat slow enough - I'm starting to feel maybe this was a mistake and my destiny is to be 350lbs all over again. :frown: I mean I kninda know what Im doing wrong -I am a BAD snacker - I love any kind of carbs - and it totally kills me - pretzels are my weakness. I dont know - I think I just need to be around others who are like me - who have had this done. My hubby is wonderful - but just doesnt get IT - hes like 6 ft - 190 lbs - can eat a whole cow & poop it out in 15 min - so if I don't eat what he thinks is "enough" - he keeps piling up my plate - I mean - i am like a dog - you put food in front of me -its gone in 6 seconds flat - - but I need to be a winner at this - I did so well the 1st time - and once I had the baby I just couldn't (can't) get back on track - anyway - thats my little story! I'll be posting - hope to me you all!! Julie
