I just got my surgery date and I am June 8 as well!
My pre-op testing has been done for weeks…I have to have a negative COVID test when I check in on 6/8.
I’m having RNY, a massive hiatal hernia repair (surgeon’s words not mine), and my gallbladder removed.
I’ve been doing the liver reduction in earnest for a week, I have lost 10 lbs and I will stay on it till surgery.

Good luck to you! 6/8 will be here in no time at all. ?

Happy Monday June surgeries! I meet with my surgeon today and hopefully I will get a June surgery date. My daughter will accompany because hubs is on travel till Friday. I think the only thing that will be more exciting for me than today will be the day of surgery.
    Fingers crossed!!!!

I know I have read alot of stuff about being head hungry and not stomach hungry. I don't know if this is solid advice or will even help but when I am combating hunger I eat a sugar free popsicle and it helps me thru so much.

Hi everyone. I had my sleeve on June 3rd. My weight loss is slower than many people, but the scale is still moving. I do cheat here and there, so I'm happy with my progress.
I am hungry a LOT. Sometimes I attribute it to head hunger, but often it's physical stomach rumbling. Drinking water helps a little bit, but not always and never for very long. That's when my restriction tool saves me. I can only eat a small amount, where in the past, I would have stuffed myself.
Still feel like this is one of the best decisions I have ever made!

I really just started being hungry in the last week or two. I had the surgery on 8/31/21 and went a few weeks with little hunger. Now, I could eat every hour on the hour if I followed my hunger feelings. I think it is hunger, but not 100% sure from reading all these posts who insist it is not hunger....not sure what it is but it feels like I am hungry. I try drinking water but it does not make the feeling go away.

Yes!!! My big learning curve involved leaving food on the plate. Even when measuring out portions I found myself wanting to finish what was on my plate. Twice I had that same sensation and have since recognized that even my 2 Oz of protein, 1 Oz of veggies and 1 Oz of carbs was more than I could eat. Now I smile at the victory or recognizing when to stop! ?

I assure you I wasn't bring condescending. please don't assume. You replied to my comment sir. People are on different journies here. Congratulations on being so healthy before surgery. You follow your path and I will follow mine . I just know weighing yourself and focusing on a number will lead to mental health issues. Look around here and many support groups. Have a blessed day and good luck on your journey!

1st of all cograts on the loss so far. 30 pounds that quick is pretty remarkable. I am 6 weeks out and I am only down a little over 30 since surgery. What was your suegery weight. 2nd I had this conversation with my doc Tuesday. Her advice was focus on non scale victories and that everyone will have stalls. She advised me not to weigh everyday or I would not focus on my weight loss with the correct mindframe.

I went day 7. It wasn't terrible but not great. My doctor has me on miralax plus colace twice a day and I have been going regularly since the 1st one.

I have had major surgery for what was thought was ovarian cancer. My mother died several years prior to my major surgery from ovarian cancer. I had verified tumors and incapacity causing pain. I did not tell "everybody" nor did I tell anyone who asked. I took care of business - went to an attorney who helped me with financial and legal issues for my then underage daughter. I made arrangements for who would take care of my pets. Those people, of course knew. But work colleagues, acquaintances, even many friends and relatives, I did not tell. NOT their business. AT ALL. I do not need people talking about what is clearly not about them. I was very lucky to have been opened fully from above my belly button to my pubic bone. I was very lucky to have had benign and rare tumors that had only just begun to be "funky". I had some specialized treatments that I also do not share with others. That was 15 years ago. No one needs to know. In my opinion - telling the world about one's medical information is an attention seeking behavior. Acceptable for some; but not for a me and not for many others EVER. I am NOT saying YOU shouldn't share - by all means go out there and do what makes you comfortable. But for many - sharing personal information is well, like going outside in public naked. Totally not necessary.

    Greetings,
Surgery date June 29, 2021 and it has already been life changing. My blood sugars have been between 99-144 for over two weeks normally we’re running 300+. I am just grateful for the community.
