T4ME got a reaction from Renee5612 in Leg cramps from Hell!!!Hello all, it has been awhile since I have posted anything I have been just working on me. I am down now 166lbs . Still going but I have a been having horrible leg cramps all they the day and night. I calling my Dr tomorrow I feel like it is probably because I’m not exercising as I should or something I Drink 80-100 ounces of water daily Angie most every day I am very strict about my diet. Idotaoemy vitamins an calcium but something is going wrong.. Has another else ever had this problem? -
T4ME reacted to Arabesque in Leg cramps from Hell!!!Try some mineral salts - magnesium especially. You may be flushing (peeing) or sweating some of those out of your body. But see what your doctor says first.

T4ME reacted to Sleeve_Me_Alone in Leg cramps from Hell!!!Agree with the above - with that much water, its very likely that you are low on electrolytes. You can supplement with potassium & magnesium in the form of sports drinks (Powerade, Gatorade), water flavoring additives (Mio, Liquid IV, ZipFizz), or just taking them in pill form. A quick fix is also pickle juice!

T4ME reacted to loridee11 in Leg cramps from Hell!!!Agree with others - check with your doctor as it could be a number of issues. I had them so bad my foot would curl under itself. Added a magnesium supplement and drink an electrolyte drink a couple times a week and am much better.

T4ME got a reaction from Erin18 in One more try before surgery againI personally have been very fortunate. My portions are smaller an I stay away from sugar. I am 8 mos post op and I only have 71 more pounds to go to reach my goal. I watch what I eat but I have never been a big exercise person that part is a struggle. I am thankful for the surgery, I can walk an stand where as before I could not even stand long snout to make my own bed without a break. We go shopping an we can park anywhere because I am able to walk an stay walking for long periods of time. I work outside in my yard an enjoy family outings again. My biggest struggle is clothing right now as I’m in my weight loss phase I don’t want to buy too many things so I have been looking like a bag lady tied pants on with my shirt hanging off my shoulders. For this problem I am grateful -
T4ME got a reaction from sugarbee24 in Dreaded hair loss - questionI personally just went through the hair loss part of my journey. Mind you I had very thick long hair, I got worried as it came out in huge handful wads at times. I felt like a shedding animal but I can tell you it ends an then it’s growing back already. My hairdresser noticed it was thinner but nobody else has noticed at all. I was worried an watched a few videos an read a lot but in the end I just didn’t distress my hair any further than it was. I did not color it during that time an I didn’t put it up as that seemed to weigh on it an I had worse shedding after a pony or bun. That is just my experience an as I said it’s growing back already -
T4ME got a reaction from fourmonthspreop in Successful post op gastric bypassMany Prayers for a speedy Blessed recovery. I personally have no regrets. I did not have any complications in my recovery. I am only close to 6 months out but I am 125lbs down an feeling better than I have in years. I am thankful for this group, anytime I’ve had fears or questions this support group has been very helpful. Everyone will tell you this but Walk walk walk. A normal gas pain is intense but if you walk you will work it out. Take your favorite protein drink to the hospital and if you are on a Cpap take it as well. Biotene for dry mouth, Carmen or chapstick an your most comfy clothes for the ride home. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I do anytime. I did have some health isssues an a lot older than you but I came thru just fine as I am sure you will!!! God Bless!!! -
T4ME reacted to Chris10Mariah in Losing My Hair!I lost hair from 3 to the 6 month mark just like they said. At month 9, it’s all back and thick like it was. Don’t worry - it will come back! -
T4ME got a reaction from cheryl o in Losing My Hair!I am a little over 3 months out from Bypass surgery and I am losing my hair by the handful!! I have very tho hair so at first I expected to lose some hair but DAMN!!! Before anyone says more protein I get at least 84 a day and I drink 80 to 100 ounces of water along with everything else. Does anyone have a suggestion?? -
T4ME reacted to ms.sss in Losing My Hair! It’s pretty much a given you will lose some or lots of hair. There are some who report they haven’t, but I think they are in the minority.
But it’s also pretty much a given that it all grows back eventually (I have yet to read anyone report that they are 2+ years out and still have hair loss).
I had cut my hair into a pixie cut around 3-4 months post op to lessen the thinning look and save my vacuum from having to suck up so much hair everywhere! Lol. I’m 3+ years post op now and my hair is just past my shoulders and just as full (if not fuller) than it was pre-op.
It sucks, but it’s temporary. It won’t always be this way.
Good luck! ❤️

T4ME reacted to NovaLuna in Pants Size and Other Bariatric SitesFor me, personally, it was really weird. I skipped sizes. I'm not joking. I started in a 34, but I had pants down to a 26 so I just pulled those out as I went down. Then, I literally went from a 26 down to 20 and then a 20 to a 14 and right now I'm in a 12 (and probably going to settle there considering I'm 17 months out and I've only lost 1 pound in the last month and only 1 pound the month before).
