  1. Hugs hun. I know what is going through your mind. I was always heavy at at your age I was very heavy but surprisingly healthy. Fast forward 20 years and I have bad diabetes, high blood pressure, can barely walk or stand, high cholesterol. If only I would have attacked my weight head on at that age - I can't go back in time. Wishing you luck - talk to people and get their experiences.
  2. I'm sorry - It does sounds like cold feet. You are young and in my eyes - that is all the more reason to do this. The old saying - you have your whole life ahead of you. Now is the best time to keep those nasty health issues at bay - before they even crop up (hopefully you haven't seen them yet). Maybe speak to a counselor or therapist? I wish they had these available when I was younger - or at least more main stream. I wish you luck and please remember the reason why you sought this in the first place.
  3. I am from the southern part of central - Millstone / Freehold / South Manalapan - part of Monmouth county.
  4. WOW!! The difference looks amazing! Keep up the great work!
  5. I hear you on needing that change badly - I feel the same exact way. We are all nervous - its natural. I am sorry you are scared - I know it is very frightening but remember why you are doing this. You got this and we will be here for you when you are finished and want to come update us.
  6. I'll be looking for you to check in when you are home and up to it. Great job on the pre-op diet.
  7. Us March 10thers are really growing (in number - not size lol - soon we will be shrinking in size!)
  8. You got this! - I will be on cheering you and everyone else on till my turn comes on the 10th - then I will be back to cheer the rest of us Marchers on. As far as feeling like you have been on this journey forever - I feel the same way. I have been battling my weight my whole life! Had my lap band put in and then removed. I'm excitedly waiting for the day - my nerves are fried though lol I'm in NJ as well! I wonder if we ever crossed paths!
  9. I am not post op but my friend (she hasn't had surgery) sneezes every time she over eats or is full. I totally thought of her when I read your post. She is in her 60's and has been doing that as long as I've known her which is about 15 years now.
  10. It is part of the standard clearances my doctor wants. They are looking for plaque in the legs, how fatty your liver is and I am not sure why they scan the stomach as well. We have leg and abdominal sonograms, sleep study, lung strength test (breathing test), Stress test, echocardiogram, ekg, nutrition, psych, panel blood work, endoscopy - I think that is about it. I did ask if these were required because of my weight (I am a higher weight than a lot of patients) and they said nope - required of all patients for the practice. Supposedly the practice has a much lower complication rate that most other centers / practices and it is because of their prep work before the surgery. My pre-op diet consists of a 5 week plan - first 2 weeks I eliminate a meal with a shake (1 shake a day), then the next two weeks it is 2 shakes a day and one light clean meal. The last week is complete liquid shakes 3 times a day. You certainly have to want to do this because if you don't, you wouldn't go through all the stuff required.
  11. Another surgery twin - I think that is 3 of us on the 10th. I had my abdominal and leg sonogram today and of course my letter of medical necessity was not in so i am stressing a bit since they needed to submit the case to the insurance.
  12. Glad you were finally able to have the surgery. Hope you are doing well.
  13. How is everyone doing? March is around the corner!!! I am still trying to get info on making sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to so that I can get insurance approval for My day March 10th - getting very nervous.
  14. They did mine with clothes and shoes on because of covid (no more taking shoes off they said).
  15. I am sorry you are sick. I have not had my surgery yet but my surgeons office said no more carbonated drinks after surgery. I hope you feel better soon.
  16. Thank you! Good luck to you - you are doing awesome so far it looks!

    Please don't say this - I will cry for sure. I am currently a 40 / 42 barely B - between an A/B if I lose anything there - I won't have anything. wahhhhhhh
  18. I actually recall reading an article that the divorce rate is higher among couples that one has had weight loss surgery. I think the emotions start running high and the insecurities start coming out. I spoke with my husband at the time and he said "oh so you are going to leave me?" - I was like no dude you are missing the point.
  19. Good luck!!! And congrats!
  20. Welcome to the Marchers!!! My surgery twin!!
  21. Dates are coming up for us! I am so anxious nervous excited - all rolled into one lol
