Surgery a week out and having second thoughts.
Hugs hun. I know what is going through your mind. I was always heavy at at your age I was very heavy but surprisingly healthy. Fast forward 20 years and I have bad diabetes, high blood pressure, can barely walk or stand, high cholesterol. If only I would have attacked my weight head on at that age - I can't go back in time. Wishing you luck - talk to people and get their experiences.

Surgery a week out and having second thoughts.
I'm sorry - It does sounds like cold feet. You are young and in my eyes - that is all the more reason to do this. The old saying - you have your whole life ahead of you. Now is the best time to keep those nasty health issues at bay - before they even crop up (hopefully you haven't seen them yet). Maybe speak to a counselor or therapist? I wish they had these available when I was younger - or at least more main stream. I wish you luck and please remember the reason why you sought this in the first place.

You got this! - I will be on cheering you and everyone else on till my turn comes on the 10th - then I will be back to cheer the rest of us Marchers on. As far as feeling like you have been on this journey forever - I feel the same way. I have been battling my weight my whole life! Had my lap band put in and then removed. I'm excitedly waiting for the day - my nerves are fried though lol I'm in NJ as well! I wonder if we ever crossed paths!

Does anyone sneeze when they are full
I am not post op but my friend (she hasn't had surgery) sneezes every time she over eats or is full. I totally thought of her when I read your post. She is in her 60's and has been doing that as long as I've known her which is about 15 years now.

Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?
It is part of the standard clearances my doctor wants. They are looking for plaque in the legs, how fatty your liver is and I am not sure why they scan the stomach as well. We have leg and abdominal sonograms, sleep study, lung strength test (breathing test), Stress test, echocardiogram, ekg, nutrition, psych, panel blood work, endoscopy - I think that is about it. I did ask if these were required because of my weight (I am a higher weight than a lot of patients) and they said nope - required of all patients for the practice. Supposedly the practice has a much lower complication rate that most other centers / practices and it is because of their prep work before the surgery. My pre-op diet consists of a 5 week plan - first 2 weeks I eliminate a meal with a shake (1 shake a day), then the next two weeks it is 2 shakes a day and one light clean meal. The last week is complete liquid shakes 3 times a day. You certainly have to want to do this because if you don't, you wouldn't go through all the stuff required.

Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?
Another surgery twin - I think that is 3 of us on the 10th. I had my abdominal and leg sonogram today and of course my letter of medical necessity was not in so i am stressing a bit since they needed to submit the case to the insurance.

Jealous Spouse
I actually recall reading an article that the divorce rate is higher among couples that one has had weight loss surgery. I think the emotions start running high and the insecurities start coming out. I spoke with my husband at the time and he said "oh so you are going to leave me?" - I was like no dude you are missing the point.
