  1. I don't have Aetna but I handle the medical insurance as part of my job. Generally when they require a "visit" it is usually one a month. I have heard of insurance requiring a year - some only require 6 which is more common but I have heard of 12. I agree with your doctor but I would call your insurance company back and get clarification from them - no way should they send you to the dr for clarification - it is THEIR policy. Ask for a manager at Aetna or a supervisor and get it in writing. I feel like the Aetna reps you spoke too don't know and is trying to pass the issue to someone else. Good luck.
  2. Out of pure curiosity - why decaf coffee only? What's wrong with caffeine?
  3. I finally got approval last week. Nervously sick at the moment lol How are your nerves holding up?
  4. I am so sorry this surgery was so hard on you and there were so many issues. I hope you are feeling better and going forward it is only smooth sailing for you.
  5. No worries! I will report back after mine is done on the 10th!
  6. Hang in there! I am sure it will get better. Sorry you are in pain. Did they prescribe anything for you? Congrats on getting it done.
  7. How is your pain? Are you getting around? Congrats on being on your way to a new you!
  8. Well I am officially starving!!!!! 5 days and counting till surgery. I have jitters all day when I think about it. How are you holding up? I think it hits everyone in stages but I have been on and off a basket of nerves.
  9. So glad you are finally getting in! It will be here before you know it. Congrats!
  10. I had to see a pulmonologist and a cardiologist for clearance. As other posters mentioned, I had a sleep study (which revealed sleep apnea), a breathing test (for lung function) and some other stepping test which I am not sure what it was for. The Cardiologist did a stress test, ekg, echocardiogram - which I think is just to make sure my heart is in decent shape for surgery.
  11. Yes - we are surgery buddies - same day! The nurse said the first couple of days of the pre-op diet is hard but it gets easier. I am find just the opposite. Today my stomach is growling!
  12. How is all the Marchers doing today? I am getting tired of this liquid diet and honestly, I am hungry. 6 more days till surgery and nerves are rattled.
  13. You got this!!!! Sending you positive wishes.
  14. Nice to be home! Take it easy (but get your walking in ? ). Do you find it hard to sleep in your bed? Just wondering why you switched to the recliner.
  15. Glad to hear you are well and home. Congrats!
  16. Awesome to hear! Glad everything is well. Congrats now on to a new you!
  17. Asking for a seatbelt extender on an airplane - try asking for one on an international flight and all the air attendants are Chinese (we were flying to Beijing) and they just couldn't understand what you were asking for so you had to sit and act it out. Yep - I was "THAT" fat woman - I almost died with everyone looking at me.
  18. How about asking hubby to put on your socks for you (sad I know). Too fat to bend your leg to get your socks on - weird enough I could get one side on but the other I couldn't. I stopped getting shoes I have to tie for the same reason.
  19. @JustJazzy I hope you hear from them soon!
  20. I do - i take a 5 mg dissolving tablet. Helps me get to sleep and stay asleep.
  21. Just got insurance approval and finished all the clearances. OMG this is happening! I know what you guys mean by waiting around all day - it is torture. For my endoscopy they had me report at 10am and didn't take me into the operating room until 4:15 pm - I was livid. Plus that day I left my phone in the car with hubby so all I had to do was watch the staff around me. I imagined it was Greys anatomy and try to figure out who was sleeping with whom.
  22. OMG you are all killing me with these lol All my fears right here!
  23. Does anyone feel like they are going to burst with anxiety / excitement / nerves - whatever this is? I am not till the 10th and yet today when I looked at my phone and saw March - I think reality hit. I have been having jitters all day - might also be from the liquid diet but I think it is looking at the calendar and seeing March!!! These next 10 days are going to be hard.
  24. I just ordered clear protein drinks from ideal fit. I have not tried them but a number of people suggested them and my friend who had WLS 4 months ago said she absolutely loves them. As soon as I get them, I can report back. She did say that she pre-mixes them because she likes to let them sit before drinking them otherwise they are a little bit gritty but after letting them sit for 20 minutes they are really good. I'm hoping they are as good as everyone is saying.
  25. I'm so sorry. Huge hugs to you.
