  1. Mine was a week ago today. I feel really good. No pain. The first few days I would get a cramp that lasted 5 - 10 seconds and once passed it would cause another 10 - 15 seconds of nausea but that is long gone. I did dry heave one day so I took a pill for nausea. The first few days my stomach was like - I WANT FOOD!!! either that or it was saying WTF did you do? lol It was hard adapting to drinking so slow and so I wasn't getting in all the fluids. I m doing better now with that. @Jnfinney how are you feeling? You are only two days out so i suspect you are still with the cramps and such. Did you get gas pains? I never had any. My biggest issue was in the bathroom and running to it lol
  2. I am doing really well - had a few poop issues (sorry TMI lol) but overall doing really good. Today is your big day! Hope it goes smoothly. You will be on my mind today.
  3. You got this! Today is a great day to start a whole new you! I'll be thinking of you today!
  4. I am doing really well honestly. The worst part for me? I have had the poops (sorry TMI). I don't really have a want to eat (probably because more of the bathroom issues lol). I didn't have pain but some mild discomfort. I feel so good - I am 6 days post op. I have to force myself to drink but that is OK. My back is hurting a lot less, the swelling in my legs have gone down tremendously, I am sleeping better - overall I feel great! I do like a mid afternoon cat nap this past week ????
  5. Wishing you and @groovygal lots of luck!
  6. How are the 3rd week Marchers doing? You guys hanging in there? Mine was last week and feeling good. No pain but tired. Drinking and "eating" is a real struggle - the thought of food makes me gag although I could go for a nice bowl of pasta lol Maye I am ick of soups and shakes lol
  7. Hello all, I had my surgery 5 days ago and was released after 1 day. My discharge from the hospital had me stop virtually all diabetes meds and drop my blood pressure meds a lot as well. Even though I am not eating much, my sugars are still elevated so I put myself back on some of my meds and I called my endocrinologist. My endo said a lot of people almost immediately don't need insulin anymore but if my sugars were high, I should cover it with insulin but test my sugars to avoid a low. Has anyone here (who has diabetes) been completely taken off your meds right after surgery? I know in time my doses will decrease and I am not looking for a magic bullet to say poof - diabetes is gone but I am curious if you have / had diabetes and how fast your sugars responded to lowering doses or eliminating the meds completely. My endo said my liver is probably spitting out glucose to replace what I am not eating but the hospital made it seem like it should have been automatic after surgery. Thanks
  8. I am sorry this is going on with you. I don't know much about your state's health insurance but I know a person here in NJ that did not have coverage for anything bariatric and decided to go to college (he took one class) in order to buy health insurance through the college - the health insurance from the college offered bariatric coverage. Apparently a lot of people do this in order to get some covered items like fertility treatments, weight loss surgery or even eye corrective surgery. Might be something to look into.
  9. I got a recommendation on here for Ideal fit. Its a powder you mix and they are really good. I tried a few different ones and love them all so far.
  10. You guys got this! This is your week coming up and we will be here to support you! Routing for you guys!
  11. Did you get a chance to ask them why they did a biopsy on your liver? I hope nothing serious.
  12. I couldn't play with my kids and I realized my inability to move was affecting their weight as well - I want to be here for the day they announce they are getting married. To address my health issues - diabetes, high blood pressure and severe bank pain
  13. I am so sorry you are having issues. Hoping they can fix this issue without more surgery and issues.
  14. I just did mine yesterday and zero regrets. I too don't really care about the number on the scale - I care about getting my diabetes under control, my high blood pressure, my cholesterol and my newly found sleep apnea. I take 3 different insulins, 3 different blood pressure pill, 1 cholesterol pill and a bunch of other stuff - I did this to kick at least some of these meds. I think it is normal to be worried (you are human). Just remember why you sought out the surgery in the first place. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you select.
  15. That should have read were not concerned. Sorry!
  16. I’m having the same - drs said sip slower and leave time in between but they were concerned. My pain is under my left breast when it happens. Glad you are feeling good overall!
  17. Hi Everyone! I’ve been sleeved today! Feeling pretty good - not much pain but during surgery they did give a pain med that is supposed to last three days so who really knows how I’m actually feeling lol I’ve been drinking with no issues except if I sip too fast, I get a cramp in my stomach so I won’t be doing that again. So far so good and I get to go home tomorrow G-d willing
  18. I waited 10 days and that was mainly because they are busy and they check the benefits under my insurance so they can have a real discussion at the 1st visit.
  19. Glad you are finally home! Hope you feel better very soon.
  20. The "she" that is there now did my husbands band and he is good with it. The dr that did mine is no longer there. My dr didn't do a horrible job with the surgery, she just should have never done a lap band on me due to the angle of my stomach.
  21. Same here! Tomorrow is the big day!
  22. yeah - there is no other reason. Every patient in the practice get the "no caffeine" two weeks pre-op and 4 weeks post op. Frustrating.
  23. This is so crazy because my drs restricted on the pre-op diet as well. They act like caffeine is the enemy lol Thanks for sharing the info.
