  1. Ha! I have that coral shirt in a 4X! I can't wait to get rid of all these giant clothes. (But it is a really pretty top, and I get tons of compliments on it...and the other 2 colors I have like it, lol)
  2. Thank you! How long did you have your band? Did you have any tests before your revision to check it's condition? I'm hoping mine isn't too bad. I'm scared of having him open me up, remove the band, and then find that he has to wait for the bypass. I mean, if that happens, it happens, but it does make me anxious. I've had my band for 7.5 years. He did an EGD and said it looks ok, but who knows when he opens me up what it will look like on the outside of my stomach. 3. And I'm going to bet she didn't gave a weight issue. Some people do not understand the struggle at all. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
  4. I'd love to keep up with your progress. I'm scheduled for 12/15. How was your recovery compared to your band? Also, did you have a lot of pain where the port was removed? And where was your port? Mine is basically between my boobs and down about 2 inches. I don't see many with that placement. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
  5. For basic foods that don't have nutrition information on the packaging, you can probably Google. Otherwise, the nutrition facts per serving should be listed on the packaging. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

  9. I'm on my first one, but I agree. Getting it hurt like a B, but after that, I'm golden. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
  10. She had surgery a month ahead of you, so three months ago if I'm reading correctly. And she says she's lost all the weight she wants/needs to lose? Wow! That seems crazy to me. Good for her, I guess. However, I am like almost everyone else who replied and feel she may be in for an unpleasant surprise in a few months. Keep up your good work and you will reap the rewards! 11. I can't figure these out either. However, if I type the address into my browser, I can get the desktop version. Maybe that will help. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
  12. Also, I will say, I have an IUD, but I've used the sponge before that when my guy didn't want to use a condom. It really wasn't bad at all. However, it is more expensive than condoms for regular use. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

  15. I have PCOS, and I got pregnant 3 years after lapband. I had done fertility treatments before that and they were not able to make me ovulate no matter what med or dose. Lapband gave me my baby. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

  18. I agree to an extent. I didn't lose a lot to begin with (65lbs) but I lost enough that I considered my surgery a success. I certainly felt better and was healthier than before. I feel like I never did solidify great eating habits completely. I did well enough to keep the weight off for 3 years, but if my eating had been better, I would have likely lost more. Then, I got pregnant....and everything changed. My entire body feels foreign now, even my hair. I used to have very naturally curly hair, and now it's stick straight. I feel like that's an outward illustration of all the changes to my body. I had to have my band unfilled and never got correct restriction back. We had a very sick child for a while, and it was sooo easy to go back to my poor eating habits and I had no restriction to help me. I take 75% of the blame for my regain. I lay the other 25% on my endocrine system and a persnickety band that has me vomiting 3-4 days a week until late in the day. I am hoping this time to make my changes permanent. I can't afford to keep this weight on. I have a child I didn't have before and she is the best motivation I have to take care of my health and model good eating habits. I do feel I'll be successful because I have already, prerevision, made some very good changes to my habits. It's all different to me this time. 20. Girl, I hear you! I drive an hour for my appointments. I'm a revision patient (had lapband in 2009) so my process was much faster but it almost wasn't. My insurance didn't require I redo the 6 months and all that (psych eval, nutrition, etc). My surgeon did want me to redo the nutrition class and go to a support group meeting, and I was fine to do that. I actually enjoyed them, and I have been to the next support group meeting too. The kicker was that the lady that does insurance in his office would not believe that my insurance didn't require me to redo everything. She basically called me a liar and had me call insurance and have them call her on 3way. Then she told the representative who was reading her emails from the bariatric nurse reviewer to the lady that she didn't believe her and would call the nurse reviewer herself. The nurse reviewer read her my criteria (either surgical or medical complications, that's it) and she TOLD the reviewer that I had no surgical complications. Wth??? I never claimed to have surgical complications, thank goodness. My complications are medical (endocrine related) and she hadn't seen the letter from my endocrinologist. Well, the end of the story is it was approved in full and she had to eat crow. Moral of my story: call and ask what your insurance requires and push for yourself. Be your own advocate! It definitely worked for me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
