  3. Well, I thought I'd update. I didn't notice ANY difference the day after my fill. However, yesterday (two days after) I did notice a slight bit more restriction. I suppose I was expecting it to be more immediate. Is a delayed reaction common?
  4. I had my first fill yesterday. It was really a non-event for me. The needle was bigger than most, but needles don't really bother me. I didn't know it, but I had 2cc's in from surgery. He said with the new bands, they self-calibrate, so they can put some in during surgery. Anyway, he only gave me one more cc for a total of three. So far, I can't tell any difference, and I don't get another fill for two months, so here's to living on will power again. I actually just got a part time job at a local video store as a means to helping with my weightloss. I am a teacher by day, and this will keep me off the couch at night. I will be up and on my feet for 15-20 hours a week, so this should certainly help, and I'll be able to use the money for my new clothes fund. Yipee! Good luck to all, and if your fill seems a little light like mine, hang in there. We can do this, and once we get to restriction, it will be a piece of cake (pun intended!).
  5. I am excited! I put my info in the spreadsheet, and I was so happy to type in the goal of 225! That is what my gyno calls my body's happy weight. I will certainly be happy when I am there and even happier as the number drops and drops.
  6. I know what you mean, Barbie. People tell me they can see it in my face, and I can't so I wonder if they are just trying to be nice or are really sincere. I've only lost a total of 33 pounds (I say only because I still have over 100 pounds to go) so while I'm happy with my progress, I don't see myself as having changed all that much.
  7. I'm glad you asked. I've wondered the same thing.
  8. I'm experiencing the same thing, girls! My first fill should have been last Monday, but the doc was booked until today. Well, I got a message on Friday that he would be out of the office this afternoon, so I had to reschedule for Wednesday. I also have no real restriction. I am still losing about a pound a week, but it is sheer willpower as well. I know that sometimes I eat WAY more than I should. I COULD eat any amount I want, I suppose. I don't ever feel full anymore, and I'm usually not even satisfied. However, I keep telling myself that this will pass, and it will get better. I have read enough on her to know that is true. We can do it, girls! We just need to hang in there.
  9. I would also like to participate. I wouldn't mind creating a Google spreadsheet, but I don't know how. I can experiment and see what I can come up with if you want. However, I will paste below a copy of a format that has been used for several other challenges. What do you think about just following this format? If you aren't on the chart please add yourself. In order to keep the data current please copy the chart from the last poster when you update your data. If you all are okay with it, we could start our own like this. What do you think?

  11. I can't believe I'm the first to post today. I'm down one pound again this week. My first fill was scheduled for today but had to be rescheduled for Wednesday, so I'm hoping that will help me out. If not, I'll take a pound a week. That's 52 in a year! 12. Hang in there. It did get easier for me the longer I did it. However, it is just my husband, my mother-in-law, and me in the house and they were very sensitive and accommodating to me. I also didn't have to go to work and face people. (I'm a teacher and it was in the summer.) I did go to a fourth of July cookout, though, and it was tough, but I ate my yogurt and drank a protein shake while everyone else had the yummy burgers and hot dogs. I just told them all how excited I was and that I had eaten enough in my lifetime that this one time wouldn't kill me. (And I tried to convince myself that I meant it.) Just remember, it will pass. I haven't had a child, but they say after childbirth you are so happy you don't remember the pain. I think it must be kind of like that!
  13. Here's my NSV. Friday at work a colleague told me it looked like a family moved out of the back of my pants! She couldn't have said anything nicer!!!
  14. My two biggest challenges right now are getting in water and exercise. A challenge around either of these would definitely interest me!
  15. I'm down one pound this week, too. I'm not sure I'll make my goal, but that's okay. Any loss is great to me. I get my first fill on the 25th, so maybe that will help. 18. Just one pound down for me this week, but I'm totally okay with that. I get a fill in two weeks, (it will be my first) so I think I can still make my goal. 19. I am having a very sharp pain on my left side. (My port is on my right side.) This happened the other day, but wasn't so severe. It also didn't last that long. It hurts more when I move or breath, but it never goes away completely. This has been for like 30 minutes straight so far, and it kind of takes my breath. I have taken two Gas-X strips just in case it is gas, but so far no relief. Has anyone experienced anything similar?
  20. I had Preparation H wipes on hand. They helped.
  21. If it makes you feel better, I think I had it worse. I had to do the magnesium citrate, 4 dulcolax, and 14 doses of Miralax. Yes, I am serious, and yes, I survived. I had my doubts, but I did make it! Seriously, congrats and good luck!

  24. I can't make you feel any better, but I can sympathize. The same thing, or close, happened to me. I am "eligible" for a fill on August 17 but the doctor is booked up until the 25th. That really stinks! I also have to wait another month (or maybe six weeks) to get a second fill. It kills me how inconsistent the procedures are from one surgeon to the next.
