i'm feeling the same way with the last supper syndrome!!! I have been waiting for so long to have this surgery and i want to totally start a new way of eating a new healthy life on friday the 13th so this week i have been eating like crap like a final goodbye or something crazy like that (i dn't have a pre-op diet) but anyway im so excited to feel full after a normal portin sometime in the next few weeks....months.....

thanks i think i'll have to go buy a few different kinds and just try them out!!!

i'm getting ready for my surgery on friday the 13th,and was wondering were you can find these drinks in stores? I have heard they are a good alternitive to reg protein drinks. Anyone have anymore ideas for post op?

i dont have to do a pre-op but i almost wish i had to so i could be prepared for post-op!!!!!!

I'm freaking out that i will not be able to have my surgery!!! i have been coughing like crazy and my throat and cheast are on fire. I cann't even imagine coughing after surgery. Do i still have time to get better?Did this happen to any body else? :bananalama: My surgery is on friday the 13th!!!!

my doctor gave me the option too but said i would be the first with the realize band,so i desided to go with what he knows best and stick with the lapband. I dont feel like being someones guinie pig!!He aslo said they both have pros and cons that the realize website is great but if you have other support your fine.

Does anyone put protein powder in their coffee or make protein pudding? Im having surgery and all i have is coffee in the morning. my dr said coffee is ok after a few weeks, and i made the suger-free pudding and added skim milk and a scoop of powder and t was really good with 20 grams of protein!!

munger, CONGRATS on your approval!!!!!!!!Remember i went through the same thing with the tma paperwork. for some reason tricare is not getting it for weeks finally i Told them im faxing it to you weather you want it or not and the next day 4 different people called. i do have a phone number for clinicals if you want they were the ones to get it staighened out.but if you have the paperwork your fine. my surgery is next friday the 13th and im getting so nervous!!!

Hi everyone!!! I go in for pre op on the 28th and surgery dates are feb 13th or 20th .i'm so excited ,my 6 months of fighting insurence is over.Maybe i'll be one hot mamma before im 30!!!!! Dr.monash Tucson arizona.

i CAN POST MY APPEAL LETTER TOO!aFTER 2 APPEALS AND A FORMAL APPEAL I WAS FINALLY APPROVED .IT TOOK 6 MONTHS BUT IM SO EXCITED!! SUZANNE SENT ME HER LETTERS AND THEY REALLY HELPED!

I was the same way not wanting to diet just in case they wanted me to weigh in again!!! What are they saying is relaying all this u are the same height and weight !!!!! omg i hate tricare!!!! now i fell i need to eat crap before my surgeery What am i thinking!!! ginnie

munger, I started all this in june so its been well over six months and the dr said surgery dates were either the 13th or 20th of feb it seems so far away!!!Has it been sixty days since you submitted everything to tma because thats their time frame. I'm so sick of weighing 236 i just want to be in wonderland already!!!!!!

munger, I'll be crossing my fingers for you! tricare is still giving me problems even after being approved !!!!! they are saying they still don't have records from TMA saying i was approved and they won't take my faxed copies from the 5th of jan , I'm so sick of having to call everyday and nobody knows anything!!!!

munger, Is your paperwork at tma and are you at dm because there is a lady on base that can talk to tmaand see the statis of your appeal she works for the people but for tricare? Don't give up ,i was the same way !

ok munger so this is how it happened! I am 5'4 and 236 with blood suger problems and they came back with a denial for not having problems long enough. So the second time i had my psm look at the met life charts and messure my arm for frame size so i could also quilify under the 200% and sent that in and was denied again so i then sent it to the formal review board (tma) secratery of defense where they have 60 days to review!! I have to say i was ready to quit and thats what they want but my wonderful husband said "no we are going to fight this they want you to give up."Send them everything the met life charts hilighted frame size,all your med records and a personal letter on how it affects your life from day to day ,self esteem and how lapband will help with blood pressure etc.. Make it personal !!!!i think i sent them 53 pgs of info.make copies of there polices .Dr.monash will do a peer to peer rewiew leave a message for him personally .Hes ofice staff is a little flakey!! If you have any qwestions just ask. O' and the last weigh in for the 200% i was 255 wearing everything i could think of quarters etc...

I'm so excited after 6 months of fighting with tricare , I finally won !!!2 appeals and a formal appeal to tma. It really pays to fight for what you want .:thumbup: surgery in Febuary!!!

my surgeon has caled the medical director 3 times about my case personally and they said i need something more to be approved he is sendig me for a sleep study stat !! He also said that tricare does not know much about wls and how much better your health will be and all the statictics on diets failing ,he gave them a ear full !! do most overweight people have sleep apnea???????

i was denied to for not being on meds for diabetes even though it shows my high blood suger. i'm 5'4 and 240 is that 200% over my ideal weight for a small frame? working on my appeal letter!!! wondering why everyone is getting denied!!

Isn't thyroid -hypothalamic disorder the same?

I would love some info on appeals for thyroid and diabeates i'm starting to do mine today.

I GOT MY DENIAL LETTER TWO DAYS AFTER THE DOCTOR SUMMITTED 93 PAGES OF INFO .I'M GOING TO APPEAL BECAUSE I'M 5'4' 236PDS AND HAVE THYROID AND DIABEITES SO I SHOULD HAVE MET THE CRITERIA ANY IDEAS ON WHAT I SHOULD BUT IN MY LETTER. ANYBODY HAVE ANY GOOD RESULTS WITH THEIR APPEALS?:teeth_smile:

im so bummed!!! tricare gives my a different answer everytime i call i meet the requirements and they say i need more clinicals? anyone have this problem? do i appeal now?:wink2:
