  11. I have such an unlimited supply of hummus...My bf just tried it for the first time about a month ago and he goes through probably 3-5 8oz cups a week now.
  12. I dont think I have done an introduction! I am 27 years old and I live just outside of Providence, RI. I have a wonderful 4year old son who is ADHD/ODD so I need some energy to keep up with him sometimes. I live with my wonderful boyfriend of a year and a half. We made the big step to move in together this past April. THings have been going great! I have been heavy since puberty. I then went to college (Northeastern University/UNLV) and majored in Biology. The weight kept coming on. I then got pregnant with my son and during my pregnancy, I developed Thyroid cancer so the weight kept coming on! So once I got my thyroids, and cancer removed. The next battle was controlling my thyroids so hence more weight. Not an easy process. So that is basically what landed me here after tons of attempts at weight loss! I work as a QC lab supervisor in a hummus factory...Yummy... I wish everyone the best of luck! I also posted some before pictures in my profile for everyone to see! Heather
  13. I am using the whey Protein. I bought it at walmart for 12.57 for a 2lb containter. You use 1 scoop per 8oz of milk and it is 100 calories, 2g Fat, 3g carbs, 26g protein. My doctor never mentioned Optifast. I dont even know what it is!
  14. My pre-op diet is: Meal 1: meal replacement(drink or bar) Meal 2: meal replacement(drink or bar) Meal 3: meal replacement(drink or bar) Meal 4: "real"food *each Meal Replacement should provide 180-200 calories and 15-20 grams of Protein and be low in sugar. You can have your real food meal at anytime you want during the day. I sometimes have it for lunch or dinner. Hope this helps you some! I have lost 7lbs in a week
  15. Count me in for friday weigh-ins! Thanks Heather
  16. Good Morning! I had the same thoughts and concerns as you did! I am being banded in Boston on August 11th. When it got closer I got more determined. The worst was the first 3 days of the pre-op diet. I am fine now and I am down 6 lbs from last monday. I had 3 Meal Replacements and one low-cal, low-carb, high Protein meal. You kind of just go into a mind set that now is the time and there is no turning back. Trust me I was devasted that I couldn't have no more red robin, macaroni grill or anything high in fat. Trust me this is a change for life and you can do it!
  17. Congrats andGood Luck with your band! I am getting banded on August 11th also!
