About Me

I have struggled all my life with family of origin issues not realizing that my struggle led to a food addiction. I escaped the alcohol and drug addictions passed down through generations, food was and is my drug of choice. My dependence on food as a comfort tool comes accompanied by a fear of being hungry. This fear seems to stem from a desire to never be uncomfortable in any way, shape or form. When you have a high metabolism, the reliance on food can go unnoticed because as long as your are not overweight, it is not considered a problem. But these things have a way of catching up to you and I am now considered morbidly obese. On August 3, 2020, I had a gastric bypass and while still struggling with the addiction, I am doing okay in the early stages post surgery.
