    First Plateau?

Oh my gosh I just got on here to post the exact same thing I am now 8 weeks out and have lost 22 pounds. But for the last 10 days I've been at 22 pounds. while my diet has not been absolutely perfect I'm averaging between 509 and 800 calories a day, how is it even physically possible that I am not losing weight my gosh if this is a plateau and I finally get over it I'm going to drop 10 pounds overnight hahaha. 3. gaaa! this is a hard week. i am hungry. doesnt feel like head hunger, i feel it in my stomach. I want to eat more than my puny 4 teaspoons of food for dinner. is this a phase common to this time out (6 weeks) or am i just having issues?

    does it get easier?

Yes that is the amount of search and told me I should eat at each meal no more than that sometimes and in the early weeks it was enough but now I want more Sent from my moto z4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    does it get easier?

That sounds like that would be a wonderful amount of food. No my surgeon told me 4 teaspoons per meal and then at 4 months I can go to 1/4 of a cup and then increase it a fourth of a cup out until a year where one cup is the max I can take in but how that equates to ounces I'm not sure thanks for your input Sent from my moto z4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. According to my surgeon at 6 weeks out I should be having about 400 to 600 calories a day I don't know how you're able to take in 1200 calories without being really in pain. Are you choosing bad calories? One thing I'm finding out if this is not easy but I do know this, if you do the right thing the results will come Sent from my moto z4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Portioning out food

really good question, i was also wondering that. my dr is saying 4 teaspoons, which depending on what that is could be several ounces, or not even 1. it is all very confusing. i am at week 6 today. i am just excited that in 2 more weeks i can move up to 1/4 cup, which is more than 4 teaspoons for sure. this is hard, and i want to eat a big salad.
  8. So the first time I ate a little bit of crab meat it was all I could do swallow a couple of bites now here I am at week 4 and I ate one and a half crab cakes and they went down just fine is. I'm concerned that I was able to eat that much other than the fact that I shouldn't have shoved all this food down my gullet. have I done permanent damage? Why in the world was I so hungry? Or was it may be emotional eating now after I have eaten it I'm starting to feel kind of sick to my stomach but it went in just fine I'd appreciate your thoughts

    Eating little and lots

wow, that sounds like so much more than i can eat at one time. and certainly more than you should be eating. No judgement, i am still in a place where i want to eat more. but i know if i ate even half that i would feel so uncomfortable. wish i could offer some advice. you posted a week ago, is it still this way?
  10. so, i am one week out. and my doc calls for a 2 week liquid diet of protein shakes, broth, sugar free jello and juice. I am having trouble taking in more than 400 calories a day. 2 of the premier protein shakes has 320 calories, and between 10 calorie broth and 5 calorie juice, i end up around 400 calories a day. that just seems like too little. my understanding is that if you dont eat enough calories, you body will reject losing weight because it thinks you are starving. i can drink a couple more protein shakes, but that would be way too much protein. would appreciate your thoughts.

    Eating little and lots

You both are exactly right I need to be very diligent in practicing the portion control. My real question was why was I even able to ingest that much food without feeling sick it seems like when I took that one bite too many I should have felt something. I realize now I was emotional eating due to a personal issue but my question stands if I can't always make the best choices shouldn't my reduce stomach size stop me in my tracks? I'm feeling much better today thanks
  12. scheduled for surgery soon, the person who was going to stay with me a few days has been exposed to someone with covid, so i better stay away from them. if someone drives me home, and just checks in on me periodically, am i ok to be left alone? what are the chances that something would happen (dizzy, fall, illness) and need immediate assistance? Damn Covid.
  13. Yesterday I had my post surgery 2 week checkup. All is well. The nurse told me I should begin taking my bariatric vitamins the next day and then she said something that kind of shocked me. She said I no longer need to eat vegetables or fruit because this vitamin will give me everything that vegetables and fruit can give me. I find this horrifying because I love vegetables, and can't imagine never eating them again. Have others been told this?
  14. Thanks guys I feel a lot better knowing this

    Hungry

10 days out. Still on my liquid diet of protein shakes and chicken broth and sugar free popsicles. I feel ravenous like I could eat everything I don't know if it's eye hunger, or just the deprivation of anything resembling chewing. Tonight I went over to visit my boyfriend and I ended up meeting a small piece of chicken jerky. I chewed it and chewed and chewed it and now that I've eaten it I feel so guilty and I'm waiting for my stomach to explode or something. I needed to confess because I feel like I've done a bad thing anyone else had this happened to them? I'm getting nervous that when I can eat I'm just going to eat everything please somebody tell me that the smaller stomach and the ghrelin reduction will kick in

    Exercise

hey there. go out to you tube and type in leslie sansone. she has a million walking videos you do in your house. fun music and easy stuff. a great way to start. give it a try.
  17. yes, totally. i call it eye hunger, or memory hunger. my stomach is not telling me i am hungry, but i so badly desire a chipotle bowl or a slice of pizza or even a big salad with tons of stuff in it. only 2 weeks out. i have notice that if i take too big of a gulp of my chicken broth or protein shake, i get a very uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, so that sort of tells me i am not hungry. lots of talking to myself these days to change old behaviors. you will get there too.
  18. thanks guys, this helps a lot knowing i am not the only one who was concerned. i appreciate you!!!

    Gastric Band Revision To Sleeve

i have had the band to sleeve revision. i am only one week out but i tell you this. the sleeve surgery was much less painful than the band. surprisingly so. i got sick of fills, and oops, too much fill, and finally after 15 years, my band failed. hoping for the best!
  20. So I'm 5 days out of surgery and I am being 100% faithful to the liquid diet of chicken broth, protein shakes, and sugar-free popsicles and Ocean Spray 5-calorie juice. I'm just so bored with it all and I'm really wanting to choose something I don't want to be a cheater but I'm wondering did everyone say totally liquid until week 3? What if I cook some soup and pureed it with my blender don't want to do the wrong thing just curious

    Waist Binder

I had my surgery July 14th and my doctor told me that other than showering I was to wear it for two weeks straight 24/7. It is itchy, especially in this very hot weather we are having. But I do feel protected when it's on.
  22. so, i had m surgery on July 14, and first time i have weighed myself since surgery (same scale) I am up 5 pounds. Since i am tracking my intake and know that i am consuming about 600 calories, i ask....is this normal? Am i just holding surgical/anesthesia/fluid? So odd.

    The nerves are setting in

just had mine yesterday, July 14. i had the sleeve, seriously no big deal, thirst is the biggest issue. having to sip so slowly is a challenge. But the surgery in not bad. some incision pain.
  24. had sleeve yesterday, July 14. just home after one night in hospital.  Doing great.  pain is not bad at all.  Just sooooo thirsty, i want much more than 1 oz of water every 15 minutes

    1. tahtah

      tahtah

I remember that feeling. During the night I set a couple alarms to go off so I would get water in. It helped with my thirst not being so bad in the morning. Best wishes. 🥰
