  9. thats funny, I went into webberleys on sat to ask if they had any books and the lady said she had one on order for a someone. Ive ordered 2 from amazon , a Q&A book and a recipe book Im hoping that they are coming tomorrow. Would you like to meet somewhere for a coffee, I work most days but have just gone back to work after been off for several months with a bad back so at the moment im not working full time ?
  10. Hi, thanks for the info about the support group, I will join, but I go away on that date for 2 weeks in Rhodes- and a litt;le apprehensive about what Im going to eat as I will only be 1 week post surgery OMG- but with some thought Im sure I will be OK ( Im not going to die) In reply to your question Im very lucky that Im going private for the op, so its going to be about 2 months from me first contacting the nuffield. I live in Dresden, so not far away. I would love to keep in touch Mrs lummy
  11. Hi - wow 2 others from Stoke- me too. I got my date yest 11th July & Ive seen the dietician today. I feel less frightened now - Im going on holiday 1 week post op but the surgeon is happy and after the dietican explained what I will be able to have I feel better- I would love to keep in touch x
  12. Nice to hear from you- after I saw the doctor I sort of gave up and thought that Ive never had it done - I can pay for it now thankfully, but I do know that mu hopsital lets you have 12 months interest free, but lets hope that your PCT agrees- dont give up, keep going to the doctors & keep pestering them - let me know, its nice to have someone pre op and in the UK as I dont know anyone else. Im off to bed now but will log on tomorrow. I think there is a way of tagging someone as a friend on the web site so I'll have a go at tagging you - Mrs lummy
  13. Hi - I need a friend too to help me along my way. Ive had my date today for the 11th July Im really excited and frightened. I too am 40 this year and need to loose 45 kg. Im going to ring the dietican tomorrow as I have so many questions
  14. sorry thats just a quick reply- but could your cold be hayfever ?
  15. Hi- Im new to all this too. I got my date today for the 11th July. Unfortunately I tried going through the PCT's last year but with no sucess, so Im paying for it. NICE recommends surgery but Im sure that the PCT's wont be so eager to pay. A friend at works mother went to the GP last week, so if she hears anything I will let you know- good luck. ( have you enquired as to the cost at your local private hosp) Mrs lummy
