  1. My op was on the 2nd of July and after a month of Lansor/Lansoprazol, I was prescribed Nexium. I am going to see my doc in a couple of weeks but I feel anxious about reflux after VSG. Have you been prescribed with sth similar? What will happen when we wean off?
  2. Do you have any recipes for the first 2 weeks of liquid diet? I am so bored with mine!
  3. The gastric sleeve in top hospitals by top surgeons is around £ 6000-6500. £3000 seems a bit weird
  4. We have some of the best experts here in İstanbul, like the rest of Europe or the USA and 5 star hospitals. The only difference is the exchange rates of Turkish Lira & Euro/Dollar, the surgery is not near cheap/affordable in TL but of course is advantageous for the people abroad.
  5. You are soo right, everything smells delish! I talked to the dietician on the phone today and asked her about whether I can start purees sooner, she said it is better to stick the liquids for a faster and safer healing process. That made sense so I am being patient.
  6. Tomorrow is my first week today I am struggling with hunger for the first time since the surgery.
  7. Good luck to everyone!! I had my op. last thursday and today for the first time I feel hungry I was able to go shopping & all the pizzas, chocolates, chips around were super hard! I begin to miss solid food & being able to chew something.
  8. Yes, thank you I will! I am going to have the first week check next Sat.
  9. Is there anything we can do to prevent it? Thank you!
  10. I can help, if you are still considering. I live in Istanbul and had my op. here.
  11. I am also a low BMI, 31 actually and just had my sleeve op. No complications yet but I can relate, I was very nervous too. Still nervous actually
  12. I am a low BMI and had my sleeve op. rjan is right, bypass causes vitamin deficiencies & are bigger ops than sleeve. Low BMI's do not seem to need it that's why the surgeons prefer sleeve.
  13. People around & what I have been reading keep suggesting that reflux and sometimes a revision op is the almost inevitable outcome of gastric sleeve ops. I am terribly anxious about this, is it really the case?
  14. I have been reading about gastric sleeve and the high probability of reflux in the future, which concerns me a lot. In such a case, a revision op is needed, this is what they say, a more complex operation. Any ideas?
  15. Good luck! speedy recovery!
  16. Getting better, at home sitting or lying but sipping something all the time. Not using any painkillers and I have just some pain around my belly button which makes it difficult to move around, sit or stand up. I have the energy to go shopping or play with the kids etc., if you would want to know, but I can't because of the belly button pain. Hope it helps.
  17. I had my surgery on July 2nd! Everything is so new!
  18. Protein shakes and liquid soups, zucchini my favourite, are life savers. For the zucchini soup i use milk and labneh cheese to make it richer in protein.
