  1. I am very boring the same thing every morning (but I like it) Quaker Oatmeal - usually the brown sugar one. I can not eat first thing in the morning. I wait until I get to work at 8am and eat it.
  2. Also--Breakfast. I am not as hungry in the morning and am really tight. So I would skip breakfast. But now I have some hot green tea, wait a half an hour and just eat very slow and have a scrambled egg with some turkey sausage. I can't eat breakfast first thing in morning either, I fixed my kids breakfast here at home and when I get to work around 8am I fix my oatmeal and then slowly eat it - usually takes my around 35 minutes to eat. Now don't get me wrong I am hungry when I wake up but I know I can not eat without getting stuck so I don't try.
  3. I try to stay around 1100 calories a day, sometimes it goes down to around 1000 or up to 1200 but I definitely try to not go above that.
  4. I am using the Walk At Home DVDs by Leslie Sansome. I have only been using them for a month but boy have they made a HUGE difference.
  5. I would also suggest calling your doctor. I have 5 incisions and two of them still have the steri strips on them that the doctor originally put on. I was sent home with bandages on and was told to clean them (I just used a saline wash I did not rub them at all) and put new bandages on for a few more days. You really should try to get moving more too. Good luck :scared2:
  6. Congratulations!!!!! :scared2: The day I reach onederland will be the best day ever. I am so very happy for you and I think getting something for yourself is a wonderful idea. I have not yet decided what my reward will be but I will be buying something some sort of clothing item or items :biggrin2:
  7. Nothing but walking helped with the gas pains. The night of the surgery I was up every hour walking back and forth in my room due to the gas pains. I am now 10 days out and all gas gone. A couple incisions still sore and can only sleep on right side still but better everyday. It is still hard to believe I actually did this
  8. I was banded in TJ Mexico on 7/2, arrived back on 7/4. Still sore, better everyday. Still having a hard time sleeping - just getting in a comfortable position to sleep, I can only sleep on my right side. All of my incisions are on my left side. Gas is pretty much gone. I have no appetite yet. Trying to get liquids in. Sticking to broth, jello and Popsicles. My family is being wonderful, specially my husband.
  9. The shakes aren't sooo bad. You actually get used to them. I also made mine with water - cold water (tasted better than just cool water or room tempature water). I just bought a blender yesterday for after surgery and used it to make my shakes today (was just well shaking them up) and boy does making them in a blender make a huge difference. I have had one minor surgery (tubal) and must admit I am nervous too. To be honest the whole things has not really hit me just yet. I am leaving for Mexico tomorrow and surgery on Wed. I will be glad when I am heading home
  10. I can not believe it is finally time. The first of us will get banded on Tuesday and Wednesday. BethO and I are going to Mexico to have our surgeries so we are leaving here - Florida - Monday and having our surgeries on Wednesday, July 2nd. I have to say it really has not completely sunk in yet that I am actually doing this. I am getting so excited. Still a mixture of nerves but more excited than scared (well until the day of Surgery ) Because we won't be here we will not be able to see the post of the people from the 1st until after our surgeries. I will post when we get home - on the 4th. I am just so excited for all of us :biggrin2:
  11. I am also a July person - I am getting banded on July 2nd. I am currently on the liquid diet - actually drinking lunch right now :Angel_anim: I read this board everyday, it has helped so very much. My emotions are so jumbled up right now it is crazy :smile2: I think I would be nuts by now if not for this board. Good luck - you should check out the thread for people being banded in July 2008.
  12. Too Funny. I was so very cranky last night. I was just plain hungry and family ate frozen pizza, normally I would not even care but it smelled so good
  13. You better believe I am freaking, one moment I am completely excited the next moment I am a mixture of scared and nervous. I really just want to get the surgery over and then start the hard part but good part. :biggrin2:

  16. I said goodbye to a whole slew of different foods. I did not want to feel deprived later on. Hey I found out that some of them I do not think I will actually miss all that much afterall. I will be a different person in respect to food after and this for me is just the important process.
  17. Oh my goodness there are a ton of July Butterflies. I have to say I am getting soooooo nervous and so excited, at this point I really just want to get the surgery part behind me.
  18. I started the pre-op diet today. I am doing shakes during the day and then one low carb meal at night. Today I did two shakes - Breakfast and then lunch, one string cheese - snack, baked fish and brocolli for dinner. I am doing the pre-op for 14 days.
  19. I am looking forward to shopping at VS. My husband is also very supportive and he is also very excited about what the future holds. I have already started thinking about what I am going to reward myself with. I am getting my surgery on July 2nd and our group is calling us the July Butterflies - I have started looking at butterfly tattoos - to be put on my shoulder  once I have lost maybe half of my weight, hopefully around Christmas?
  20. I am scheduled to get my surgery on July 2nd and will be staying in the Lucerna - What was it like?
  21. My surgery date is July 2nd. I am getting it done in Mexico. We leave on June 30th and have the surgery on July 2nd.
  22. Today is the first day of my pre-op diet. And no the the meal replacement drink isn't exactly tastey but I am soooooo excited. I am so glad to really be started. I weighed this morning and I only gained 3 lbs on my goodbye food week (well actually two weeks).
  23. My surgery date is also July 2nd. I am also excited/nervous/scared. Finding this board has been the best thing for me.
  24. I have a surgery date of July 2nd
