Thank you everyone, went to the mall today. It was nice strolling around the mall in my nicely fitting size 16's knowing I am under 200.

I can imagine how excited you were. I was actually quite scared when I was trying on the size 16 jeans, I wanted them to fit so badly but I am so accustomed to them not fitting in the past, when they did fit and were not tight oh my godness....

    Breakfast Ideas

I am very boring the same thing every morning (but I like it) Quaker Oatmeal - usually the brown sugar one. I can not eat first thing in the morning. I wait until I get to work at 8am and eat it.
  6. Also--Breakfast. I am not as hungry in the morning and am really tight. So I would skip breakfast. But now I have some hot green tea, wait a half an hour and just eat very slow and have a scrambled egg with some turkey sausage. I can't eat breakfast first thing in morning either, I fixed my kids breakfast here at home and when I get to work around 8am I fix my oatmeal and then slowly eat it - usually takes my around 35 minutes to eat. Now don't get me wrong I am hungry when I wake up but I know I can not eat without getting stuck so I don't try.
  7. I try to stay around 1100 calories a day, sometimes it goes down to around 1000 or up to 1200 but I definitely try to not go above that.

Went shopping at Wal-Mart today and decided it was time to get some new jeans - was wearing 16W but they were way too big, kept having to pull them up. Well my niece convinced me to try a size 16 - and they fit, and fit very nicely I must say. This is the first time in I do not know how long I have a pair of jeans without a letter behind the size  I have to admit to trying them on again when I got home and just staring at myself in the mirror and saying you know what I DO look good.

I have Lose It - you could find one of two ways - the easiest would probally through itunes, go to applications and then the free ones under helathcare and fitness then look at the free ones. There are a lot of them but I really like this one because it is free and it comes with a database of foods.

    July Butterflies Master Thread

Hello everyone, I have not check in a while. I doubt anyone will even remember me. I was banded in Mexico on July 2nd. I have lost right at 46 pounds. I started at 248lbs I am as of this morning 202.8 I am so close to onderland, closer than I have been in probably 7 years. I am so excited. I am tracking my food everyday on a free application I found for my ipod touch and I am exercising almost everyday with Walk at Home DVDs Leslie Sansome - they are great exercise dvds. I have only been tracking the weight and doing the regular exercise for the past month and boy has it made a huge difference. I have had 2 fills so far and believe at least for now I am at a good place restriction wise - I think I have 2cc's in (sorry I know I should know the exact #) I was told my band will only hold around 4 cc's. I have read through alot of the posts and everyone is doing so well, congrats,

    Glued Incisions

I would also suggest calling your doctor. I have 5 incisions and two of them still have the steri strips on them that the doctor originally put on. I was sent home with bandages on and was told to clean them (I just used a saline wash I did not rub them at all) and put new bandages on for a few more days. You really should try to get moving more too. Good luck :scared2:

    One-der-land equals a RED bra

Congratulations!!!!! :scared2: The day I reach onederland will be the best day ever. I am so very happy for you and I think getting something for yourself is a wonderful idea. I have not yet decided what my reward will be but I will be buying something some sort of clothing item or items :biggrin2:
  16. Nothing but walking helped with the gas pains. The night of the surgery I was up every hour walking back and forth in my room due to the gas pains. I am now 10 days out and all gas gone. A couple incisions still sore and can only sleep on right side still but better everyday. It is still hard to believe I actually did this
  17. I was banded in TJ Mexico on 7/2, arrived back on 7/4. Still sore, better everyday. Still having a hard time sleeping - just getting in a comfortable position to sleep, I can only sleep on my right side. All of my incisions are on my left side. Gas is pretty much gone. I have no appetite yet. Trying to get liquids in. Sticking to broth, jello and Popsicles. My family is being wonderful, specially my husband.
  18. We had our surgery performed by Dr. Chong - he is an associate of Dr. Corvalla - we were initially supposed to have Corvolla but he was not available during the time we needed. The hospital was very nice. The hospital was very clean. When we were there there were only two other patients on our floor. The nurses were all very good. I have to say I got a bit more attention than BethO did, just depends on the nurse assigned to your room. Not all of the nurses could speak english but that does not really interfere with the care you receive - we were given a sheet with phrases that might be needed but I never actually used it. We got home late Friday and we are doing quite well, still very sore but better everyday. I also saw some issues with Corvolla but I think most of those were old. My understanding is his office addressed the issues. Can you talk to someone from his office? As of now we are doing quite well and are happy with our experience. I hope I have been of help, and if I can answer any more questions let me know.

  19. I can not believe it is finally time. The first of us will get banded on Tuesday and Wednesday. BethO and I are going to Mexico to have our surgeries so we are leaving here - Florida - Monday and having our surgeries on Wednesday, July 2nd. I have to say it really has not completely sunk in yet that I am actually doing this. I am getting so excited. Still a mixture of nerves but more excited than scared (well until the day of Surgery ) Because we won't be here we will not be able to see the post of the people from the 1st until after our surgeries. I will post when we get home - on the 4th. I am just so excited for all of us :biggrin2:

The shakes aren't sooo bad. You actually get used to them. I also made mine with water - cold water (tasted better than just cool water or room tempature water). I just bought a blender yesterday for after surgery and used it to make my shakes today (was just well shaking them up) and boy does making them in a blender make a huge difference. I have had one minor surgery (tubal) and must admit I am nervous too. To be honest the whole things has not really hit me just yet. I am leaving for Mexico tomorrow and surgery on Wed. I will be glad when I am heading home
  21. I am also a July person - I am getting banded on July 2nd. I am currently on the liquid diet - actually drinking lunch right now :Angel_anim: I read this board everyday, it has helped so very much. My emotions are so jumbled up right now it is crazy :smile2: I think I would be nuts by now if not for this board. Good luck - you should check out the thread for people being banded in July 2008.

Too Funny. I was so very cranky last night. I was just plain hungry and family ate frozen pizza, normally I would not even care but it smelled so good
