Doing.this.for.me. reacted to seababe25 in Someone in Florida???You should see dr Wiljon Beltre in Orlando. I had my surgery May 12th 2021, now it’s two weeks later and I’m down 17 lbs & I’m in my 50’s. He’s great and has done thousands of bariatric surgeries over the last 20 years. He’s very confident and I was out of the hospital after only one day. His prices were the most reasonable of all. Good luck -
I was an ancient, disabled 62 year old and in 7 months I have lost 100+ lbs and got off my BP meds, am not diabetic anymore and can walk briskly without a stick and have my independence back. Every day is a new sunny day for me, even when its raining! I only wish that I could have afforded this surgery 20 years ago.

I was 45 when I had Gastric Bypass. I weighed about 1/4 ton over what I should. I lost all my excess weight and then some.
My proudest achievements are that I've run 5 marathons. I got to run across the Golden Gate Bridge, with a broken rib but that's a story of it's own.
I've gone horseback riding on vacation which was a dream of my spouse's. I've kayaked on vacation also. All things I never even dreamt of doing.
My dreams pre-op were more basic: Bathing in a bathtub. With my spouse. Rolling over in bed without the 3 step roll. Not breaking chairs.
Going from 6x to no x's. I'm able to buy clothes off the shelf. From not flying to flying in coach. To having to choose restaurants that had strong chairs, to sitting anywhere including booths, chairs, folding chairs.
At this point it's hard to remember everything. I would have thought this impossible and would think anyone saying this was simply boasting, but here I am.
Don't get me wrong, there have been downsides... They don't come to mind, but they've been there
Good luck,
Tek

As of today, I am exactly 3 1/2 months post sleeve surgery and have lost 61 pounds!!!! I can't believe it!!! I still feel like I'm fighting for every pound, but I also knew PCOS would do that to me. Still, I'm so so happy that I hit that weight. I know it's going to get tougher the more time that goes by, but the fact that I'm losing and not putting the weight back on is huge!!!! I'm so excited. My next goal is to hit 320 (that will officially put me at a lower weight than I was with keto - even though I lost 100 pounds then, and it'll only be 67 pounds now, because I went into the surgery a lower weight than I was at when I started keto). After that, my next goal is to hit 299 and be under 300 for the first time since 2005.

Doing.this.for.me. reacted to FutureSylph in Wish you knew before surgery…I wish I hadn't stockpiled so many protein shakes/drinks based on my pre-op tastes. They're nasty now.

Doing.this.for.me. reacted to Jazzy1125 in Getting antsy.. Ready to do this..Hang in there and in the meantime do as much reading from these boards as possible and take notes... the more you read and see what others are going through the better prepared and know how to handle what happens in your case. Not everything will happen but some things will and you will know the why behind it and know how to handle or what you may need to do to change it ( if its something that can be changed) for going forward. Good Luck on your Journey!
