  6. Am I reading this correctly— you’ve lost 123 lbs since your surgery on 1/16/20 and It’s only 2/23/20. I figure you meant you had the surgery in 2019. Anyway, a 123 pound loss is phenomenal. Congratulations!
  7. Congratulations! You look great! Awesome job!
  8. Good for you! Good luck and keep us posted!

  10. Great post even though I am a newbie. You nailed it with your post as each of us are in charge of our own journey to better health and quality of life. I like straight shooters who say it like it is as you have. So please keep posting even though you’ve reached your goal weight. I’m going to follow you as you have inspired me with your weight loss. Congratulations!
  11. Thanks for the details. I was using the app on my iPad and wasn’t receiving updates so I missed this. 60 pounds since November 7 is great loss—(coincidentally my wedding anniversary) so you picked a great date. I bet you must feel so much better. I’m slightly over your starting weight but to know I could possibly lose this much weight in a short time is inspiring. I know men naturally lose faster than women but that’s still a lot to lose. I’m going for a consultation with Dr. Beltre next week and have a list of questions for him. The consultation doesn’t mean I am selecting him as I have to see how I feel about him after meeting with him and hearing what he has to say.
  12. I’m not sure if you use this forum anymore but I see that you had surgery with Dr. Beltre and really struggled to lose in the beginning. I’m hoping weight loss kicked in for you and you were able to meet your goal. If you see this post, could you post an update? I am seeking VSG SURGERY AND Dr. Beltre is in my area and still has the same self-pay option as you used. I saw another review somewhere on the Internet with the same complaint as you. I hope you will post a reply. Thank you.
  13. Do they still have the self payers forum as I don’t see it listed with the other forums? Help, anyone? Thanks!

  15. Thank you. Checking it out. Will be posting after my consultation with whomever I end up with. When you had your consult with Dr. Schillingford, did he require you to lose some weight first and then have another consultation or just return the day of surgery? Did you have to complete a psych evaluation and meet with a nutritionist. Everyone has different experiences and the more I see the doctor the better. Do you have regular follow up and labs? Dr. Beltre requires monthly follow appts. and labs at 6 and 12 months. Also required to go to monthly group. How are you doing with your weight loss? Just curious. Thanks for sending me the info. Appreciate it!
  16. Wow! You look great! Thanks for posting and sharing. Congratulations!
  17. I have located a few. My primary reason for wanting a local or nearby doctor is in case I have any post surgical complications. The primary doctor I am thinking about using only offers outpatient VSG with a me returning the following day to have an upper GI X-ray. I would prefer a hospital stay that’s why I’m conflicted about choosing doctors. I appreciate your suggestions as there are others in South Florida that offer overnight hospital stays. I hope your surgery goes well too.
  18. I’ve been reading your postings and am wondering how you are doing with your weight loss? I am at the beginning of the VSG process and am still in the research for a doctor phase. I saw that you traveled for your procedure. Since I am self-pay too, the few doctors in the Orlando area offer outpatient only. I would feel much more comfortable with a hospital stay included. Would you mind sharing your self-pay experience and benefits. Thank you.
