  1. OK, now I need some assistance as for the life of me I cannot get my weight ticker to show up in my notes as the rest of you are doing. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, can anyone help me?
  2. Since last time I commented, I have finally stopped vomiting. If I eat very, very, very slowly and make sure I have some kind of sauce (liquid) with my food, it seems to go down, but I still think my band is a little too tight and I think I'm going to call for an appointment to remove 1/2 of a cc .
  3. Hi Angelyco, I find it hard to believe that they have you seeing a dietitian everytime you go for a fill, and that you have to pay every time. I've seen my dietitian once, and made some calls which she returns. When I go for a fill, I don't have to see anyone, other than Dr. Artuso and his PA. I also don't pay any additional money until I think after a year of visits. They also have a support group which meets on I think its Wednesdays, around 6pm, not sure of the time. I don't go because I don't drive and its difficult to get there without inconveniencing my husband or daughter. I have a close friend who had her band done by Dr. Fielding and she gives me all the support I need. Additionally, this web site is a wealth of information and you can get just about any question answered here. Their phone # is 914 - 693-0055, you can call and ask their office staff, they are really nice and are always willing to help. They are in Dobbs Ferry hospital.
  4. My friend debi717 had her lap band done by Dr. Fielding in NYC, but she gets her fills done at White Plains hospital. I got my band done on May 16, 2008 and to date I have lost 36 pounds. I'm having a little trouble since my last fill which was on Aug. 7th which brought me to 6cc, I'm very restricted and having a difficult time eating just about anything. Now eating only purees, but that too causing some difficulty. Thinking about going back and having them remove 1/2 cc. I had my band done at Dobbs Ferry hospital by Dr. Artuso. I like the way the weight is coming off, but I think my band may be a little too tight. I have vomited almost every night during dinner.
  5. I know its hard, but stick with it, eventually the weight will come off. You are still experimenting, so is your Doctor, looking for the right place for you. Keep us posted on your progress.
  6. The sweet spot is where you are able to eat, but feel your restriction and are comfortable with it. You are able to recognize when you've had enough to eat, and because you feel full, you won't over eat.
  7. pjd3253, Generally, the Dr. will tell you when you come again, usually its once a month. I have a Van Guard 12 cc band and I am now at 6 cc's. Feeling very restricted.
  8. Jaylo, keep faith, When I had my 2nd fill, I also was able to eat just about any quantity I wanted, so of course, I gained 4 pounds. I also had my band done May 16, 2008. I went last Thursday 8/7/08 and got my 3rd fill, this time they gave me 2 cc because I was so upset about the weight gain, this brought me to a total of 6cc. Boy am I ever restricted. I have to eat so slow, it seems like I'm eating backwards, doesn't matter what I eat, everything hurts if you don't eat slow. I had a half cup of refried beans mixed with a lot of taco sauce to make it liquidy and melted some cheddar cheese on it with a side 2oz. of sour cream, it took me 1 hour to eat it. I have to wait at least 5 minutes after every 2 spoonfuls. However, I have now lost the 4 poounds I had gained and think that I may well be at the sweet spot. Doly718
  9. You pharmacist is the best person to advise you as to how you can take the capsule. given that, otherwise, I would do as someone else suggested, that would be to disolve the capsule, hold your nose and swallow. good luck.
  10. Sorry, I spelled band as bad, LOL
  11. Hi, I live in Croton, NY, I had my bad done by Dr. Dominck Artuso in Dobbs Ferry. He's very good. He also is out of network for me, but he takes what ever the insurance pays and doesn't charge you more, so far this has been true to his word. I have not received any billing from him. So go talk to his office people, they are very helpful and will give you all the insurance info that you could want. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Doly718
  12. Hi Babedoe4, I was banded at Dobbs Ferry Hospital by Dr. Dominic Artuso, on May 16th, 2008. I started at 238 and am now, 2 months later at 204. I'm doing well, however still dealing with feeling hungry which I'm told will stop after my 3rd or 4th fill. Other than that, no problems. I'm very happy that I had the lap band done. Dr. Artuso and his team are really nice people. Doly718
  13. Hi, I lost 24 lbs. before my first fill. Fill went OK, I take insulin shots, so needle doesn't really bother me. I'm a bit upset because since my first fill on June 12, I've been hungry and have gained 3lbs. I received 3 CCs but I'm very hungry. Before the fill I had no problem, didn't feel hungry. I think I have to call the Dr. because my next fill isn't scheduled until July 10. I had my lap band surgery on May 16, 2008. Appreciate any info anyone has for me. Good Luck all.
  14. Can you or anyone explain to me how to get into the introduction forum which is a suggestion coming from this web site telling me that I'm new and should say hello to the community in their "Introductions forum". Appreciate any assistance. Thank you, Doly718:lol:
