  1. I have a 9cc Realize band and as of yesterday it is full with 9cc's of fluid. My physician's assistant that does my fills thinks I will have good restriction now (it was pretty good at 8cc's but I could still eat more than I think I should be able to) but if I don't he said we can add more but it has to be under the supervision of my surgeon. Not sure how much more. I'm hoping this thing starts to work now and I won't have to find out!! I'm starting to wonder if $16,000 was a very wise investment.......
  2. I live in Lubbock but could not find a doctor here to do it because they said my bmi was too low. I ended up going to Dr. Seger at New Dimensions Weight Loss in San Antonio...which I'd highly recommend but it is a little far. I know Dr. David Hall here in Lubbock has been advertising on tv a lot for the Lap Band procedure. Hope that helps!
  3. I had a hernia repaired the same time as the lapband was put in. It can definately be done. Guess it would depend on your doctor for sure though.
  4. I was banded on 7/16 and am feeling the same way. I'm still on mushies but I pretty much have the same appetite I did before the surgery and it's killing me to not pig out. There are plenty of "mushy" foods that I am craving and wanting to eat in large quantities and like you, it's taking everything I've got to control myself!! I go on the 13th for my first fill and I'm praying it makes a difference!!!!!
  5. Same thing here. It's hard and sticks out right underneath my port cut. It's totally stressing me out! I keep thinking my port has flipped or something but I'm sure that's not the case. I'm waiting for someone to post saying they had the same problem early on but that it went away with time but I haven't seen anyone say that yet.
  6. Hi Kathy! I was just banded on the 16th. I too was very nervous and excited at the same time. The surgery was a piece of cake and now I am just excited and no longer nervous!! Good luck to you. I'm sure everything will go great!
  7. I didn't have to go on one. Thank goodness!! I don't think I would've done so well. My doc said I didn't need to lose any weight before the surgery so just nothing to eat or drink after midnight. I hope everything goes well tomorrow. Make sure to give us an update!!
  8. I'm scheduled for the 16th. I am super scared too. Not to have the band...I know it's what I want. But having a 14yr old daughter and 2yr old son I can't help but wonder if I have the right to put my life at risk for a surgery I don't really "need". My bmi is considered low for the surgery but I am so tired of being over weight and spending my life dieting and exercising with no results!! I still can't help but wonder if the risk, as low as it may be, is worth it.
