  1. I said the same! My “ideal” body weight is said to be 127 (by my doctors). However even in adulthood I’ve only been about 150. I was super worried initially because my BMI is around 37, but I have confidence that when combined with family history of diabetes, cardiovascular disease & my depression & anxiety (that’s gotten increasingly worse since I’ve gained so much over the past 10 years) aaand my attempts at every diet under the sun, I will be approved. Hope we make it there together!
  2. Sorry for the misread, Hopefully they are easy as well! I’ve read of some people on the forums saying that if there is no history of the 5 years, they’re able to get by with doctors saying it’s necessary and doing the various months required of supervised visits. Hopefully everything works out! Keep us posted! ❤️
  3. Hi! Thank you for the reply ❤️. I got tested for sleep apnea, doesn’t have it. I won’t lie I was really hoping that was the issue just so things can get solved! But, here we are lol. I’ve also called the bariatric clinic (I figured that would be smart lol) & made them aware of the issue. On top of that, I’ll be discussing the issue with my primary today. I will also try the PB in my shakes! Hopefully it helps me out! I’ll keep you posted!
  4. Hi! I think it depends on your weight & what not. For me, I weighed in at the doctors at 227. I’m 5’5, and they haven’t required me to lose anything at all.
  5. So I’ve been on my journey since December 31st and am quickly approaching my psych evaluation & the submitting of my paperwork (yay!). So I’ve always had sleep issues, and since I was released from the military have been on a plethora of things for sleep. Well, the best thing that worked for me was weed (if you’re judging you can judge your way out of this post). Back in January I began taking mirtazapine to help me sleep so I could stop smoking... well one of the biggest side effects is appetite increasing & MAN have I felt the increase. At this point, I’m just worried that I’ll gain... it’s freaking me out! I want this so bad and I’m sooo confident that this tool could assist me in getting where I want to go, I just don’t want to mess it up! The dietician suggested I drink a protein shake at night, to help with my crazy cravings.. but this has not worked so far. Pray for me guys! This sh*t SUCKS! I go see my primary tomorrow to talk about possibly changing meds.. wish me luck!
  6. Gahhh I hope it only takes them 4 days for me lol. I’m hoping to get an April date!
  7. I have UHC Choice Plus as well! However, the insurance isn’t requiring me to do the 6 months at all. The only requirement really is being morbidly obese or 50% greater than your ideal body weight. My paperwork gets submitted after my March 3rd appointment with the psych. I hope everything goes well for you!!
  8. My paperwork gets submitted after my last appointment March 3rd. Good luck!
  9. Lol yes I’m so happy! Thank you!
  10. Hi! My sister had her sleeve in August 2018 & found out she was pregnant October 2018. Since she’s had the baby she’s not gained anything. In fact, she’s down to her goal weight now. During her pregnancy she had her cravings, but the sleeve still helped her not overeat. When she was pregnant she was all baby, he’s about to be 7 months now & is super healthy. Hope this helps!
  11. Just an update-really good news guys! The cyst is actually forming from my kidney. Soooo the doctor has decided to monitor it every 6 months since cytology came back with everything being non-malignant. This means after my March 3rd psych appointment everything will be sent into the insurance! I’m super excited & ready.
  12. OMG! I’m so tired of people saying that to me! I’m 5’5 and 222.. I carry my weight well so people never really realize I weigh so much. I went to my GI and she told me I don’t need the surgery. I feel like people need to realize it’s about much more than weight!
  13. Thank you! It’s funny because this is my 3rd GI! He specializes in pancreatic cysts. He said they will present my case to the tumor board Friday to see what the plan will be. I hate that they said it’ll take 2-3 weeks to let me know though ?
  14. Wow! Was yours cancerous or something??
  15. Seriously, I love you guys....this forum has done sooo much for me during this process!
  16. My mom tells me to pretend my insurance requires the six month supervised visits lol. So I'm trying to do that as well. No worries @MaineDoc ...any and every suggestion from you all helps! And thank you @FluffyChix! I appreciate both of your responses, I will stay strong! Honestly, since going to the doctor yesterday I want it out anyway because they said it's 5.1cm. Although I didn't have any issues with it, and I don't have any symptoms I do think it's freaky to have something there that shouldn't be there...and at that size. This is my 2nd go-round with cysts! My first was a brain surgery back in 2017. I really am looking forward to the surgery to help me regain my health and continue on a great path! Nooooooooooo more cysts after this lol
  17. So, one of the requirements for my surgery was to have a pancreatic cyst checked out that my GI found back in September. In September they aspirated it and said there were no malignant cells. Well, according to the doctors..by viewing the MRI the cyst contains mucinoids which could eventually turn into cancer. The characteristics of the fluid points to it being nonmalignant but they want to make an action plan...which could be surgery. I just feel kind of discouraged because of the possibility of everything being pushed back. I'm thee biggest worrier alive, so this has definitely thrown a wrench in my plan. UGH
  18. I am SO sorry for your loss! Prayers for your family ❤️
  19. I know you have to be excited, I soooo cannot wait until I can have my final countdown.
  20. Hi! I'm fairly new here as well. I had my first consult 12/31 and have to wait until 3/3 for my psych eval, which is okay! I love my 600lb life too! Anyway, this forum is really helpful especially for us anxious folk. Good luck!
  21. Hey! (even though i'm in Wisconsin) lol. I'm good! I've finally become a tad less anxious about this whole ordeal, but it is SO exciting. How are you?
  22. We're all entitled to our opinions. And if you were implying it was the reason I got fat...no. Been this way most my life.
  23. Agreed! I will make one now & add you on that one too
  24. I've never heard of it? But I will definitely try to find it!
