  1. Hi I'm a little over 6 months post op and my hair is shedding ALOT. My hair has never she'd so much and I fear I might go bald more than two handfuls of hair. I've heard this could be a side effect of surgery. Has anyone else experienced this? and does it ever stop?? Please help. Sent from my REVVLRY using BariatricPal mobile app

    Concerned

That sounds about right..i had my surgery on Nov.6 2019 and I've lost about 60 lbs myself. Like you u thought it should've been more by now too but from the comments it sounds quite typical. A month after surgery I lost quickly though. I thought it'd be around the same pace. Sent from my REVVLRY using BariatricPal mobile app

  5. I think you're still healing...I had mine on November 6 and still feel little twinges and things here and there the location where you feel it is actually where your stomach is situated. Sent from my REVVLRY using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I had the same issue after my surgery back in November. I went to my doc and it's basically the site where the surgery was performed. They put a stich in your abdominal muscle to close up that hole then stich the skin. The pulling is from the stich in the stomach muscle Sent from my REVVLRY using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. This happened to me and I went to my doc. He told me that the area I was having the pain at near my belly button was the site of the surgery. Once they pull out your stomach organ they stich the muscle layer and skin so its the most painful area after surgery. Sent from my REVVLRY using BariatricPal mobile app

    Help, I am Hungry!!

What helped me at the 6 day mark was chicken noodle soup with non-flavored protein powder. You have to make sure you get your daily protein minimum and stay hydrated!! The first 2 weeks are the hardest because your body is getting used to the shock after surgery. You got this!! Sent from my REVVLRY using BariatricPal mobile app

  16. Hi everyone, I'm still adjusting to VSG surgery and will be one month post op this week. I've been having major sugar cravings since doing the low carb high protein lifestyle. I've even had slip ups since graduating to phase 2 where I can have soft mushy foods and I've eaten sweets. Does anyone have suggestions for fighting these sugar cravings? I don't want to set myself back after coming this far on this journey. The cravings have only gotten worse since it's almost my time of the month and have been hitting the gym more often. They hit at night when it's time to rest. Sent from my REVVLRY using BariatricPal mobile app

Yes it was definitely about to become the same pattern and you're so right this surgery was suppose bro be life changing for me so I need to break up with bad habits of feeding sugar cravings. I give into my unbalanced hormones and appear especially week near my monthly but your words are so empowering I haven't thought of it like that until now. That's the very root of the problem!! 18. I've been dealing with major gas and bloat since graduating to eating soft mushy foods. Even with chewing thoroughly and eating slower. I find myself belching often and it doesn't stop even if I use prescriptions and gas x. Makes it so annoying to eat sometimes. Sent from my REVVLRY using BariatricPal mobile app

    Eight Months Out

Hey. Well I'm only a month out and I'm having doubts on whether this would work because I gained 2 lbs at my 4 week doc appt this week. My first appt I was down 27 lbs. We did just have Thanksgiving but I can relate to the fear and panic. You've come so far in your journey it's inspiring and your just 8 months out. I started at about 334 before surgery and currently I'm at 305. In your case I don't think it's the end. Just stick with setting goals and you'll find a way to reach them like you've been doing. Feeling winded

Hey hot chocolate. I also felt winded about a week after my surgery so it may be just from your body going through the procedure. What helped me was using my incentive spirometer to help my lungs expand. 4 weeks post up and that feeling is gone. I'd say it went away within a couple weeks, but definitely listen to your doctor! 24. Well it's nearly that time of the month for me and I've been snacky and have high sugar cravings at random times in the evening. I randomly ordered from go puff one night, ho hos, a zebra cake, and a bag of chips. I didn't eat everything in one sitting but I did it all of it. Dec.6 I'll be one month post op. . Help!!
