My journey: The Pain of Starting Over
So I'm two weeks postop and I'm still experiencing some pain where my sleeve is. It's not bad, but it's still sore nonetheless. It truly amazes and mind boggles me that some individuals have posted saying they are having minimal pain. I know all our bodies are different, but we all just had MAJOR SURGERY; therefore, I know some of you have to be experiencing some type of pain unless you're just not completely human. smh lol

Pre-op diet. One week in and feel terrible. Struggling.
Congratulations on the 15 pound loss. What you're going through is completely normal. Your body is finally realizing that it's not getting all the carbs, sugar, complete meals, etc like you did before. It's basically going through shock. When you drink that much quite naturally you're going to urinate just as much. Your body is releasing fluids and toxins. Do discuss your symptoms with your doctor and hopefully in a few more days it will all pass. Good luck on your journey.

Newbie - BMI and insurance
It doesn't work that way. Once the doctor submits the information to the insurance company about your health and the reason (s) in which you need surgery, that's it. Once the insurance company approves surgery, your approved. The weight loss is really so that your liver can shrink a little so that the doctor can get to the stomach adequately.

Lap Band to Gastric Sleeve
If you go to the revision section of this website, you will see a whole lot of us with the same problem. Yes, I just had my band taken out last week and sleeve done. I am so happy. It's something to think about. Good luck with making a decision.

At least you're smiling. I'm not sure what happened, but I do pray that in God's time, you will be healed and have met your goal weight. May God continue to bless and keep you. Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Revision surgery in four days.
Kudos to Mya. I do hate that you had to fall, but I think that's how God works for us. You had to fall in order to pick yourself up and get it together again. I am so happy for you. Good luck on this journey. You got your head and heart in the right place, this time you will succeed. You got this girl! (high five)

My journey: The Pain of Starting Over
Lol, I'm living too. Each day is getting better and better. I have noticed that the more I walk, the better I feel. I know that's right. I was prepared to do the same as far as eating cottage cheese and other simple foods in that category. I was shocked when he told me all that. I was so happy because I really wanted to try a taste of Thanksgiving dinner. Now, I can. Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Diet after bariatric sleeve
I don't know what you mean by move quickly but my doctor has me on one week of each phase. Last week through yesterday was liquids, today I started purees with ground meats and scrambled eggs, and next week I'm back to regular foods except for hard veggies. He said to wait another week for those. I was like okay .

Unsure
You just may want to go back to sugar free items like jello, popsicles, etc. just so you can have the sweet taste without all the calories and addiction. I have to honestly say that I can't stand anything too sweet anymore. Sugar no longer appeals to my tastebuds. Good luck to you.

Lap band revision- how long did you wait?
When I first saw my doctor, he and I had already discussed doing the surgery all-in-one. (Revised to sleeve) I was having a lot of problems. My band had slipped so from February until my surgery last Monday, my band has been unfilled. We didn't know that my port slipped down two inches as well until he went in. My surgery took longer than anticipated, but it was sooooo worth it. Good luck to you! I hope you don't have to wait.

My journey: The Pain of Starting Over
Yesterday was my postop appointment and I have graduated to pureed foods plus all ground meat, fish, and scrambled eggs. OMG!!!! I couldn't believe my ears when my DOC said that. I was so happy that I could eat meat and I did just that. Ate some tuna. Oh what a relief that was. Talking about the sluggish feeling that I had been feeling went away about 20 minutes later because it took that long for my tummy to realize that it wasn't getting any liquids but some real food. So I immediately started having gas pains and after it passed, man I felt great the rest of the evening. Saying that was perfect timing because we were headed out of town immediately after my appointment was over. So the cooler full of liquids, was packed for nothing lol, smh. , but it's okay because I'm still going to eat my jello, and I have to still incorporate at least one protein shake a day. That will not be hard at all. I'm so excited!!!!!! yeah!

My journey: The Pain of Starting Over
One week postop and I'm feeling wonderful!!!!! I washed the dishes and made coffee early this morning. In another hour or so, I plan on taking a couple laps around the parking lot as I stay right by the school. Walking that is. It is a gorgeous day out.

Stomach leaks
Oh wow! Thanks for that further explanation. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this; however, it is a blessing that it was caught early in your healing phase rather than later. I hope it all works out for you. Blessings.
