  3. Hi all, Yeah you are correct a BFP is a "Big Fat Positive" - how appropriate is that term on a banding website!! Heather your story is very encouraging, thanks! Heading off home now from work, I will log on later, strange really when I am heading for bed ye are all still in work or just going home - we are miles and miles apart but yet there are loads of things we all have in common, banding and our want for a child. Take care ladies xx
  4. Hi Ladies hope u don't mind me jumping on the band wagon I am just after getting broadband at home so now I have more time to post. firstly can I congratulate those who have their BFP, wishing u all happy and healthy pregnancies and bonny babies. Here is my story so far... Married since 31st Dec, with DH just under 10 years and never used protection!!! I have been diagnoised with PCOS and have been banded since June and have lost 45 lbs (happy days) Anyway it seems like we have been TTC for all this time and getting no where but I have decided to go at it hell for leather cause all I want for Xmas and our 1st anniversary is a BFP. just finished AF since Tuesday so have told DH we have to do lots of BD'ing over the next few days:wink2::Dancing_sorry: I am still over 300lbs so I know that it wil be tough but gonna try to hard. I live in Ireland so my posts will all be at odd times compared to those of u in the US. So basically thats me. heading to bed now, DH is asleep but he has decided that we are staying in bed in the morning BD'ing as I am usually up at the crack of dawn in the mornings even when I don't have work! Apologies for waffling on here and also if some of my sayings are hard to understand:unsure::Dancing_wub: Here is hoping to lots of BFP for Christmas Babydust to all.........

    Hi from Ireland!

Hi all Just wanted to say I think the treatment you are receiving from ACS is terrible. I was banded in Belgium with Dr Marc Focquet of SOS, on June 11th, have no restriciton now so can't wait till my 1st fill on Aug 1st. Here is a page from them where they say people who were banded elsewhere are welcome. The Adjustments - Surgical Obesity Solutions I am surprised Beryl did not contact the op who emailed her as she usually gets back to you within the hour here are her contact details The Dublin Consultation Address Dame Street Medical Centre 16 Dame Street Dublin 2 Telephone: 0044 2070 60 1954 Email: info@obesity-solutions.co.uk HTH Take care everyone

    DAY 6 Post opp.

I know how you feel, I am on day 7 today and yeah I am hungary. As the other poster said they purpose of the liquid diet isn't to fill you up but to help your stomach to heal. I can honestly say I am starving, but am sitting here in work with a bottle of Water beside me, having a yoghurt for morning break, Soup for lunch and then at home this evening I have pureed cauliflower with pureed baked Beans - realy craved this yesterday(cauliflower takes a little like mashed pots except without the calories)

    6 Days Post Op

well here I am 6 days post op, sitting in office tapping away on keyboard. To my right there is a 500ml bottle of water and a cup of coffee and to my left is a 500ml homemade smoothie which I keep sipping to keep the hunger at bay (don't believe everything you read that you won't have an interest in food - LIARS!!) Anyhow think I am about 8lbs down - the scales keep changing(maybe even I didn't jump on and off it 20 times a day it might be different) I know you aren't really supposed to be on mushies before end of 2 weeks but I don't think I will last another week of liquids TBH, so have been planning to have, mash potatoes really mashy with skim milk, puree some cauliflower and onions and add to pots then more milk, and mix with puree baked beans - have been craving this(must be something wrong with me - why would you crave orangy food!) Anyhow, thats all for now Skinnyminny2b:wink2:

Hi all Am a newbie here from Dublin - but there doesn't seem to be ever anyone on the Ireland one so hope ye don't mind my joining ye here:blush: Have my consult with Dr Marc Focquet on the 7th June and hoping I can also get banded in June in Belgium - can't afford it here €15,000 were the quotes - crazy!! Just a few questions: How do you feel afterward - need to travel alone as hubbie is away? Can you drink - been irish this is a very important question! Can you drink fizzy drinks? Is the solution to losing weight quicker to not eat solids, ie to keep getting fills ? Thanks in advance for your repies

Well Hi Kerri, we can be banded buddies. When and where are you hoping to get yours, the UK would be handier for me also but Belgium is coming in way cheaper

    Banding through HSE Galway

Hi All Newbie here Based in the Midlands and would love to get "banded" Have looked up cosmetic surgery and it looks like they aren't doing it anymore. Have also received info from the crowd in Belgium Where did ye all get it done? Whats all this about fills ?, noticed on the belgium one its €120 per fill - how often do you get this done ?? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated As another poster said GP not helpful at all so have to go private and would prefer the cheapest and best option. Thanks in advance.
