THE SLOW LOSERS CLUB SUPPORT THREAD

What is considered a slow loser? I am almost 5 months out, I have lost 55 lbs post op and 7w since preop diet started. There are weeks I dont lose a thing... maybe 8 lbs a month if I'm really trying. Sent from my SM-G965W using BariatricPal mobile app

Help! Before I gain it all back...

Sounds like you have had alot going on. But it sounds to me like you are on the right track, coming and posting and trying to get your head back in the game. I'm only 5 months out and feel like I have allowed a few things into my diet that are better not included....lol it causes me cravings and I hate it. I recently joined a group called PNP Tribe hosted by Corrine Crabtree. It really helps with tracking and documenting so you can see what when where and why..... its really great for learning about emotional eating habits, and....she offers really great podcasts.i highly recomend it. I Joined the paid membership. But if you google "Losing 100 lbs with corrine crabtree. She offers shorter free podcasts. I hope this helps and you find your way back to where you want to be.

  4. Well...it has been a whirlwind for me the last 3 months.... I decided to have surgery in august, had surgery 2 weeks later in the 26 of aug, financed the surgery and have hefty loan payments now. I moved into a new place on Sept 15 so that I could help my mom with my dad and caregiving as he has dementia ....Started a new fulltime job on Sept 30 at a new start up company..... yesterday I lost that job...a mere 3 weeks later because they cant afford to pay me. Emotional, and worried with student loans, medical loans, living expenses and an 8 yr old, while my husband is in Guatemala and wont be back for 8 months..... I stress ate yes.... but I am proud to say that it was only dill pickle slices..... I ate till my stomach was full....used my medical marijuana for my anxiety and went to sleep..... Today.i dont even want to get out of bed. I feel defeated Sent from my SM-G965W using BariatricPal mobile app

    I stress are last night

Maybe you dont see my job loss, parent with dementia, single parenting while my husband is away and financial obligations as real world issues...but in my world they are real issues. Yes it was only a few pickles.... that's my point..... I stress ate on something not too dangerous..... which is a sucess for me. It was my first real stress eat.... and I did it much better than I would have previously.....I know I have to work thorough this to deal with things differently...I will still be successful with this tool and work it the best I can. Yes I have my big girl panties on.... yes I'm out of bed and getting on with things...I have to...no other choice I just vented a little about things I'm struggling with.... I needed to get it off my chest as I dont want to worry my family. ...maybe this wasn't the correct place to do that I suppose I cant interpret the tone in your text, and this could be a misunderstanding...if so I apologize. I just felt like maybe my struggles are not "struggly" enough by your response [emoji58] Sent from my SM-G965W using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I had vsg on aug 26.... at 4 weeks post op I gained 3 lbs and stalled for 7 days.....then I dropped weight daily for 4 days.....I will be entering week 7 post op on monday and the last 3 days I have gained a lb a day!!! And stuck here again. I knew there would be stalls but damn! My total loss since surgery is 27 lbs. I should be happy but I feel like it's not good enough. My nutritionist wants me to eat 1200 calories a day...I think that's crazy... too much.... I want to lose weight [emoji26][emoji29]I hear other people saying they eat 500 calories a day.... I'm around 700 to 900.... do you think that's too high..... I feel like I'm starting to lose motivation..... I am also hypothyroid, and wonder if this is making it harder for me to lose weight..... anyone here hypothyroid? What's your experience been like? Anyone here around 7 weeks post op? What's your results so far, and what amount of calories to you take in daily? Sent from my SM-G965W using BariatricPal mobile app

    I feel discouraged.

Do you think I can just not follow what she says? I can easily eat 900 to 1100 a day, but to do so I fall back into snacking and I feel like it sets me back.... and sets off cravings.... I'm comfortable at 900 a day, but feel like it should be less.... what do I do 😥

    I feel discouraged.

My nutritionist is part of Smart Shape weight loss centers in canada. Specifically for bariatric surgery. Vsg, mini gastric bypass, lap band, and revision surgeries. I would hope she would know.... but I am not so confident. Everyone says follow the plan your dr has you on...... what if you dont want to? I paid almost 20 grand out of pocket to have this surgery....I dont want to fail Sent from my SM-G965W using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. So my VSG surgery on August 26 everything appeared to be going fine.... the last 4 days my scale has crept up from 242... to 245! I dont understand why this would happen, I'm following my plan, maybe a little short on water, but not much and I'm not premenstrual atm...... what would cause this...its disappointing seeing it go up ..... makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong.... help.... has this happened to others? Incision infection?

Thanks to everyone to replied to my post, it seems to have closed over again since I cleaned and aired it out, I will just wait and see how it goes for now. I really appreciate the feedback
  11. Hey everyone, I hade my sleeve done on August 26, so I am 3.5 weeks post op, all my incisions have healed well except 1, it isn't hot to the touch, but it is a little tender. And I can see a part of a stitch...and there is puss coming out, not lots, but it looks a little open, I'm nervous but dont want to over react, I went to another province for the procedure, and here I will have to access my family doctor. Do you think its infected? Any suggestions? I am attaching pic of the one I think is infected and 2 others that seem to be healing normally Sent from my SM-G965W using BariatricPal mobile app

    August 2019 Check In

I has my VSG surgery on August 26 so i am 8 days post op now. HW - 280 SW - 267 CW - 258 5 '7 48 yrs Im feeling relatively good, i have some days better than others. Today I am officially able to start my puree diet, but I am nervous. I have been constipated since the day before surgery.....yesterday I resorted to a full dose of milk of magnesia and consequently was in the bathroom with watery stool at least 8 times, and while I feel some relief, I am still plugged [emoji29][emoji27] I am hesitant to dose again today after yesterday's doodoo debauchery ..... is this common or normal? Any suggestions? I also feel LOW energy and weak quite easily...its annoying.... I start a new job in the next 2 weeks..... just want to be right and ready to go. My incisions are starting to itch a little..... i am so happy with this decision.....i cant wait to have energy again! Any suggestions for usually well tolerated purees to start on? 16. I know right....I sure hope we stay in touch, making a local buddy in a similar situation would be a real blessing. Yes I went through smartshape, a very simple process. I did all their medical requirements and tests, had a consultation, paid them and booked my date ..... literally 2 weeks ago 😁.... did you go through the bariatric program here? I considered it and heard it was like a 7 -10 yr wait for surgery 😳 so I decided to go a different route.... I fly out tomorrow morning, surgery at 730 monday, will return to my hotel on tuesday afternoon provided all is well and then stay in toronto until thursday when I fly home
  17. I just noticed you are in calgary!!! Woowho so am I! But I am flying to Toronto tomorrow for my surgery. It would be so great to make a local friend going though the same journey 😀🤗
  18. Hi there.... I am a little nervous too...but sooo excited to embrace the change coming on the other side. I would love to stay in touch and see how each other is doing and progressing on afterwards. Good luck on monday...sending you positive vibes for a speedy recovery
  19. Im so excited too! I pre op diet consists of 2 weeks, 3 protien shakes daily and up 250 calories of low glycemic veggies...so at least I am able to crunch on veggies, hows yours going?
