  1. Thank you @Krimsonbutterflies I appreciate your kind words! Surgery went well yesterday and it looks like I’ll get to go home today. I’m only a little nauseous and that’s when I get up. Pain is controlled it’s just more of an uncomfortable feeling. I’m trying to learn how to sip slowly. 3 sips is usually too much for me and causes more discomfort in my stomach and an overly full feeling. Still very tired and sleepy. I slept most of the day yesterday.
  2. I'm scheduled for tomorrow morning and am so NERVOUS! I'm also in the cross between excited and 2nd guessing my choice. I think I'm just most worried about getting through the surgery not the after.
  3. This is so exciting seeing everyone’s progression from before surgery to after surgery! Mine is scheduled for Monday and I have to be there at 5:30am. I take my preop meds at 4:30am. I’m so excited and nervous. When I started the program I was 280 and as of today I am 259.8. I’ve lost 10 lbs on the 2 week diet as of this morning. I’m buying some GasX, Stool softener to have that ready at home. They already prescribed me Zofran and Tramadol for after surgery and I have that at home. I want to order the Unjury flavorless protein powder but I keep forgetting lol
  4. Happy Birthday ???. Hope you are doing well in your recovery!
  5. So I cheated 2 times nd ate more protein that was allowed and had a cookie. I was baking Christmas cookies with my family and sampled what my daughter had made. Other than that I’ve been doing really well. Less than a week to go!
  6. It’s great to see everyone that has had their procedure. I’m scheduled for Monday. My dr also prescribed me some medication before surgery to take a few hrs before I arrive. It’s to help with pain and nausea after surgery and to speed my recovery. We’ll see how it goes though. They also told me they would have me on Omeprazole for 3 months after surgery to help with the stomach acid.
  7. Someone at work told me yesterday and today that I look like I’m getting sick but I feel completely fine. I was thinking maybe bc if the 2 week liquid diet.
  8. I'm December 16th and I can't wait for it to be here already!
  9. Welcome @Ash84623!!! This site has helped me a lot. I have chosen to not tell many people about what I'm doing. My husband and mother are the only ones that know. It's good to be able to come to this site and see how I'm feeling in someone else's post. I don't feel so weird with the thoughts I have lol. I'm wrapping up day 4 of my 2 week diet. I'm done about 3-4 lbs so far. Today was a much easier day considering my husband and kids had pizza for dinner. I had a small portion of steak and raw cauliflower. I did steal some mushrooms off of my husband's pizza. Currently drinking peppermint tea to curve this head hunger.
  10. That's a good idea to hold onto the biggest pants and top to compare down the road!
  11. You got this!! Take it 1 day at a time. My surgery is 12/16 and I'm on day 2 of the preop diet. It is hard and even though you messed up get back on track. Like you said you went through the past few months to get this close and then to say forget it.
  12. Currently sipping on turkey broth and it definitely helps. I think I need to make my own broth. I'm allowed 2 8oz cups of broth each day in addition to my 2 Protein shakes and 1 mini meal. We are definitely going to do this! My surgery is scheduled for 12/16. Tomorrow I see my surgeon for the last time before surgery. I feel like it is getting VERY REAL!!! I'm interested to see how much weight I'll lose on the preop diet.
  13. My preop diet started yesterday and I had some. The chicken one lacked flavor. I'm going to make my own broth and just take it in a mason jar to work and reheat. I also tried a Vegetable Broth that really lacked flavor. I ended up adding red pepper flakes to get some flavor out of it lol
  14. Ending Day 2 of 14 of my preop liquid diet. And today SUCKED!!! Monday I did great and no issues whatsoever. Today at work was a little more difficult. I'm sitting here fighting my head hunger and drinking my water. I know this is just the beginning to an amazing road ahead of me. Trying to keep busy and not think about not eating. The protein shakes I have are New Direction. The vanilla one is horrible, but the chocolate one is good. Okay Day 3 tomorrow. On another note I'm so happy to see everyone that has had their surgery already! Can't wait to hear how everything is going.
  15. That’s great news! Congrats
  16. You are so kind! Thank you for your kind words!!! We are a Star Wars/Disney loving family. I can’t wait for this summer to be able to go outside and not just always feeling too tired to do anything and my knees and feet hurting. Day 1 of preop diet wasn’t too bad until I got home. The shakes kept me very full. Vanilla doesn’t taste good but chocolate is my go to.
  17. I had my first protein shake today and struggled to even finish it. There is 20g of protein in it and my stomach felt so full! I can have water, propel, vitamin water zero, mio, decaf tea. I can only have 2 servings of broth/jello/popsicles per day. My 1 meal has to consist of 3-4 oz of lean meat/fish/chicken, 1 cup of raw veggies or 1/2 cup of cooked veggies and 1 carb that is no more than 15g. i think it’s really interesting how each surgeon’s preop is different. Some are only clear liquids the day before, others 1-2 week diets. I went to the store and bought Swanson bone broth that is microwaveable and has 7g of protein and <1 carb. They have different flavors of broth. I also bought vegan protein broth to give it a try ??‍♀️. We’ll see how those go.
  18. I’m scheduled for 12/16. My main why is because I have young children and miss out on things with them. I want to be there for them in the future and as they get older. If i stay on the road I’m on that may not happen and I can develop additional medical issues that will effect me long term. when is your surgery date?
  19. My preop diet starts tomorrow. 2 protein shakes a day and a small restricted meal. I had to buy the protein shakes from the surgeon's office as they only want a specific one.
  20. This is exactly how I feel too! I’m so glad I’m not the only one. It’s such a mixed bag of emotions right now. My surgery is in 2 weeks.
  21. I start my 2 week preop diet tomorrow! Final appt on 12-4 to see the surgeon and anesthesia. I bought some broths to take to work and sip on that have a good amount of protein in it. I’m thinking of which unflavored protein to buy. I heard Unjury is good but there are so many different options. Good luck to everyone having surgery tomorrow!!! Can’t wait to hear how it went for you.
  22. Oh wow! I never heard of being quizzed after a visit. It’s a good way to know whether you are really paying attention or not. I’d be nervous having to be quizzed because sometimes your emotions are all over the place lol. I have a binder with all the information they print out for you to keep track of everything.
  23. I’m just worried about having any complications afterwards. I told my managers I’m having surgery but have not disclosed what it is. HR knows since I have to complete FMLA forms to cover my leave. I’m getting more excited now that the days are going by. 2 1/2 weeks until surgery for me
  24. I had my appt with the dietician today and got my 2 weeks worth of protein shakes. I start my preop diet on 12/2 and surgery is 12/16. I’m feeling all kinds of emotions. Anxiety, nervousness, not knowing if I’m making the right decision, then being super excited and can’t wait for the surgery. I’m assuming everyone goes through a touch of this...maybe?
